I definitely do that on something I have to estimate or kind find an exact match for it. If I am without my scale or measuring devices, I will always overestimate to ensure I don't go over.

Feel free to add me if you would like. Here's my thoughts, no matter how you choose to do this, you have to commit to it, you have to believe in it, and you have to take responsibility for you! I don't advocate fad diets or what not, I believe in simple math. If your body needs 2000 calories to maintain its current weight…

I have to agree with the above! I hate it when people do that. Don't whine about it, realize what you did, why you're not losing and move on! Also, I never log zero calorie drinks like coffee, or Diet Pepsi (although I don't drink it very often). Also, I never log gum or breathsaver mints which probably adds up to about 50…

I agree with the above, take a day and do something fun, different, whatever from you normal workout routine, but I wouldn't just not do something, especially right now, since you are just starting out! Keep moving, keep doing something. If you get overly sore, rest that part of your body, but stay active! Couches and…

There is a definite difference! You look great, keep it up!!!!

I've lost 63lbs and with the exception of walking, all of my exercise has been with the Wii Fit Plus or Wii Active More Workouts! I have a bad knee and I have been able to do a lot of things with the Wii without bothering the knee and actually, my knee has improved immensely since I started.

Best - "You're an inspiration to all of us here" Worst - During one of my first weigh-ins (I work in a hospital), a Doctor passing by me on the scale said "Hope you don't break that thing, they're expensive."

Amazing job!!!!

Getting started on the exercising was probably the hardest part. I have a bad knee, Doc says it will have to be replaced soon. So I figured maybe I would use my Wii to work out, the kicker was I had to lose 17 pounds before I could even get on the Wii because the Wii balance board has a 325 pound limit!! My exercise…

I love this! You are forgiven because I was beyond "a big man". I'm a big man now, before I was VERY LARGE! LOL:happy:

Some of you have asked for tips or my "secrets" to how I lost the weight so fast. There is no secrets! Once you have your TDEE and BMR figured out, it's pretty easy from there. When I started back in Jan, my BMR was up around 3500-3700 (yes I was LARGE), but that's the amount of calories I needed to eat to maintain my…

I never eat them back since I am still working on losing. There's days where I burn 1400-1600 cals, since I want to lose why eat them back? And like you, I'm not usually hungry. Do what feels right for you.
-
I know there are a lot of different chain of thoughts. I feel like I'm eating fine, I haven't deprived myself of anything, I've limited my calories to 1500-1700 a day and am not going around hungry all the time. I have busted my *kitten* working out and I don't eat back my exercise calories since I am trying to lose…

Stress doesn't "make" us eat, we "make" ourselves eat. Stress doesn't make us hold onto fat, our actions or inactions make us hold onto fat. I know stress can be a problem, or an excuse for us to over eat, but that's exactly what it is, an excuse. Finding other ways to deal with stress helps eliminate the eating because of…

Welcome! With the right attitude and committment, we can do anything. In reading your post, I'd change a couple things! The part you said about "if your drive disappears."...Take that out of there! It's almost like you're already making excuses for when you fail! And the last thing is change "lose 40 pounds hopefully by…

Feel free to add me. I'm Mike, 55, only have one bad knee, but have had to make my workouts take that into consideration. Can't do anything along the lines of squats or things like that. I have noticed that the weight I have lost has definitely decreased the pain in the knee. I started Jan 20, 2013, have lost 57 pounds and…

I started with 102 lbs to lose. Joined in Jan 2013. MFP and the friends I have gained here have helped me lose over 50 lbs. Feel free to add me.

I went thru 4 pairs of pants this morning before work until I found a pair that kind of fit enough not to look like parachute pants!

NSV's are as good if not better than scale victories sometimes! Keep up the good work and they will keep coming!

You're doing great and you look great! I started at not much less than you did and OH What a Feeling when I got below 300!!!! You seem to have a great attitude, so I'm pretty sure you are going to get where you want to be. Congratulations and great work.

I'm going to be a little blunt and I hope you don't take this as me trying to be mean because that is not my intention at all. I'm just trying to help. Go back and read your post. Compare the 2 paragraphs. In the first one, you made it happen, even though you had to get up at 5:00am to get it done and still get to your…

Fell free to add me Canada! I don't think I have any Canadian friends on here yet. We can get thru this!

I ate one Subway Cookie the other day and then found out it was 200 calories!!!! A slice of pie is out of the question!

Feel free to add me, I'll give and take all the support I can! We all get in slumps, and getting yourself out of one can be almost as difficult as it was to get started in the first place.

I look at it this way. I am in weight loss mode right now and have a lot to lose, so I don't eat back my exercise calories. I know there are all kinds of thought on this and people that will say I'm going to shrivel up, and my body will start eating my muscles....If I had muscles, I would be dieting!! LOL Seriously though,…

Feel free to add me if you would like. I've been using MFP since Jan 20th and have lost 51 pounds. I would be happy to give and receive your support!!

Hope doesn't get you much, you have to want it, plan it and work for it. It's a journey that you have to take one step at a time. Be positive, and if you have a set back, DON'T GIVE UP. This is a great place to stay on track, the people on here are supportive and will help you through it.

Feel free to add me. I don't have fibromyalgia, but I've been doing this having to work around a bad knee, and with pretty good success so far. Always looking to help and be helped.
