Actually if the ingredient is in the data base it will bring it up for you when you add it so you don't have to look up the calories for every ingredient. Also, once it's in, it's there to use again and you can even share with everyone else on MFP.

Really great story!

You can record either cardio or strength exercises. When you click on your exercise tab, both should come up with Cardio on top and Strength on the bottom. And if you create an exercise, just use the drop down arrow to change from cardio to strength.

When I first started on MFP I did eat below. MFP recommended 2700 or so calories for a 2.2 lb a week weight loss. I tried to go with somewhere around 1500-1700. I don't eat back my exercise calories right now either.

Snowed in and I'm old!

I definitely appreciate the input and I did go and read the link you provided. I just want to say that I did not come into this blindly thinking that I just need to eat as few calories as I can to survive and meet my goal. I'm in this for the long haul. I realize that this rate won't continue forever. I've read tons of…

My names Mike, feel free to add me! I've been on here about as long as you have.

Amazing progress! Way to go and stay at it.

Here's one I make quite a bit, it's a simple stir fry but really good. I normally use Shrimp and Bay scallops but you can use whatever you want. Onions, Mushrooms, snap peas, baby carrots and maybe some red peppers. a little olive oil. Start with stir frying the carrots, after a couple minutes add the onions, mushrooms,…

I've been making fajitas with chicken, onion, mushrooms and peppers, a little fajita spice mix. I stir fry it with a little olive oil then put a couple low fat tortillas in the microwave to heat them, comes out like restaurant style. You can however fill the tortilla or even a wanton or egg roll wrapper with the filling,…

Thanks everyone, I really appreciate the comments. Still have a long way to go but I'll get there.

Exactly what I've been doing. Wii Fit Plus and Wii Active keep track of the calories you burn while you're working out.

I've been using the Wii exclusively since I started down this weight loss lane. I have a bad knee so it was worked well in allowing me to work around it. I started with the Wii Fit Plus and did a variety of the exercises there to include Yoga, Step, Parade, Driving Range, Kung Foo, Island Cycling, etc. I then switched to…

We all have the strength and confidence to do this, the hard part is tapping into it. You have to take complete responsibility for yourself, you are the only person that controls you and what you do thru the choices you make. The first step is truly the hardest like they say. Take a good hard look at yourself, the good,…

Pretty much just reduced calories, obviously a lot more healthy choices.

Great job and congratulations. I also saw your post about fitting behind the steering wheel of your truck. You're doing great, keep it up.
-
You gotta love those NSVs, sometimes the better than the scale victories!
-
Amazing Story! You've done great and I think your post might just help a lot of people.
-
I also have a bad knee so the Wii has been a great tool to allow me to customize the workouts around the knee.
-
I'm up to about 100 minutes on the Wii and 1300 calories burned.

Wii Fit Plus and Wii Active More Workouts, and calories in of course.
