I was about a 2 pack a day smoker up until 2 months ago. I quit cold turkey and I have still been able to lose 20lbs during that time. It has helped immensely that I am on MFP and was doing the weight loss thing before I quit. The first couple days were the hardest for me, but I must have been ready because it was a lot…

You could eat 1200 calories in Hershey bars and you would still lose weight. Might not be the best way to go about it but, it would work and here's proof: http://www.cnn.com/2010/HEALTH/11/08/twinkie.diet.professor/index.html This college professor lost 27 lbs eating twinkies and little debbies.

There are literally millions of people that have lost a lot of weight only to gain it back (include me in that group). There's no secret as to why we gained it back. Here's what happens. We get to a weight we are happy with, and maybe not at first, but we eventually we go back to our old ways. We stay away from the scale,…

Here's my story with MFP. When I started on this weight loss journey, I was checking out various website to figure out my BMR, TDEE and any other figure that would give me an idea of how many calories I required to maintain my weight which at the time was 342 pounds. As I was doing this, I stumbled across MFP! Between all…

Definitely get what you mean mate, I had to lose weight to start using the Wii. There's no bucking that, I flat out told me I was too heavy for the balance board! LOL! But have you ever noticed they don't have weight limits on amusement park rides? That's scary, I always wondered, when they build a roller coaster, do they…

I wouldn't worry about it too much unless you're diabetic or pre-diabetic. I agree with flitabout.

Feel free to add me if you would like. You need to truly believe the following, once you do, you can make this work........"I will take complete responsibility for my health, my happiness, my success and my life, and will not blame others for my problems or predicaments." You can do this, but remember, only you are in the…

Quitting is going to be a lot like losing weight. You're going to have to want it and your going to have to stick to it. I've been on here since January 21st, I quit 4 weeks ago. No drugs, no e-cigs, no patches or gum. I was ready. I did do a lot of "research" before quitting and found a couple website extremely helpful.…

You're going to get answers both ways, eat them back and don't eat them back. Here's my thoughts on it, simple math. If you want to loose weight, take less calories in than what you need to maintain your weight, and if you're exercising to assist in that weight loss, why would you eat those calories back? Disclaimer "I'm…

Don't know how you feel about hard boiled eggs, but I keep them in the fridge all the time and they are my breakfast staple during the week. I peel 2 at night before bed, put them in a ziploc container and then grab them on my way out the door in the morning. Also, granola bars or Fiber one bars aren't bad. Yogurt and…

You look amazing, what a great job and post, and I have to agree with you 100%, anyone can do this and honesty with yourself has to be on of the number one things people need to do, especially those of us that have a lot of weight to lose. Great job man, you should be extremely proud of yourself, as I'm sure you are! And I…

Bottom line is, no matter what we say or do, you have to be the one to take that first step. No one can do it for you and you have to take it with commitment or you will just fall off the wagon again, and again. Start small and work your way up. When I started exercising, I would take me over an hour to finish a 20 minute…

Since you see yourself everyday, you will more than likely be the last one to notice changes. But you will notice how much better you feel, how much easier it is to tie your shoes, climb stairs, walk, etc. Other people will probably notice changes before you do. Just know that you're doing the right thing, and once you do…
