  • we made up a paleo-friendly & delicious soup just by throwing a bunch of stuff together. it was something like... 1x leek 1x onion garlic cloves 3x bacon rashers (the big ones!) 1/2 x cauliflower stock chop, cook, blend when everything is soft. surprisingly delicious and made me want to cook with leeks more often. also...…
  • I was told to drink a glass of warm water with lemon first thing in the morning to get your metabolism working or something. It was absolutely disgusting. Do not recommend. It is infinitely better with loads of ice and mint/cucumber/something fresh
  • I don't own jeans. But i will post something anyway. 5'4. Max weight was just under 200lbs, currently at 150lbs. Max size was 18, now wearing size 12. I think that converts to 14 & 8 in US sizes? idk. DRESSES FOREVER
  • Sounds like a massive jerk. 4.5years is a crazy long time but just remember, you're better off without him :flowerforyou: When I'm feeling rubbish I retreat to my room and spend hours watching Netflix or playing xbox. Try 'binging' on something like New Girl or Orange is the New Black, rather than food? Also if its pent up…
  • as a side note, kindles are good for this. You can bump the font up to an easy to read size and you don't have to worry about pages flipping around!
  • misuse of 'depressed' is a pet peeve of mine also. OP just... kick up a stink about it. "MUM! stop buying so much crap >:( Let me have a say in what we eat" --something like that.
  • I'm always grumpy and lethargic by the time I've finished work. A banana, coffee or protein shake normally does the trick. Also, sign up to a 24/7 gym! Then you don't have pressure to go at any set time. I often show up there at 8:30-9pm, long after the normal gyms here have closed.
  • diet food like 'light margarine' what is that even.
  • I hate that 'thigh gap' is a thing now. It just seems so unhealthy. I'm sure that genetically, loads of skinny girls still won't have a 'thigh gap' just because of how their hips & legs are built. But yay, something new to feel inadequate about! :grumble: So I'm so happy to read this. Own your legs!
  • can you guys plz call it OCSOBER when it starts. I don't want to join though. There are too many birthdays, I'm moving into a new house, and ofc halloween. I just wanted to suggest the name for it.
  • people are going to crazy extremes on this thread. It was a jerky comment, which I would have handled with an 'ouch, you could use a bit of tact you turd' or similar response. And that would be the extent of it.
  • its a bit of a mixed bag because my brain is weird. I dress well for my shape and people are surprised to find out how much i weigh. Also I guess having an angular face helps with that. But my body is a trainwreck beneath the pretty dresses & I am well aware of this, mostly. BUT then I get all 'heyyy I'm back to my old…
  • and lets not even talk about how rubbish it is that boobs have become so sexualised that they're considered inappropriate, but guys are allowed to be topless all they want. Everyone should be allowed to be topless :(
  • :ohwell: sry OP went to a protest against a topless cafe. photos were posted on a news site and commenters said that the protesters were just jealous because they were fat. OP then said that she is grateful to be fat because her husband loves her for who she is & doesn't need to worry about him leaving her after having a…
  • "I am better at remembering to not place judgement." ... while protesting against a cafe for not adhering to my standards :frown:
  • I found this video very helpful! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1bngGgqdtVg
  • If I don't stretch my hamstrings before & after interval running, I'm in agony the next day. And the run feels very taxing on my legs, especially behind my knees. If I make sure to stretch them out after warming up, and doing some yoga & stretches after my run, I feel fine. My hamstrings are so tight and rubbish >:(
  • 1. Complete C25K 2. Be able to do an unassisted pull-up 3. Do Stampede or Tough Mudder
  • those feels when discovering the calories listed on a twix wrapper were for one stick, not two. :( Try to figure it out using the 'per 100g' calculation instead? Serving sizes are bs.
  • wait do you mean in the 'why do british people drink so much?' thread? The thread that was a complete joke, inspired by a thread about US portion size? I made plenty of sensible, reasonable posts in the portion size thread, despite other people being far from reasonable. And yes, in the joke/mimic thread, I said 'omg u r…
  • I had a huge obsession with them too. Plain salted ones, I'd walk up the street just to buy a bag of them whenever I felt like it. I just had to cut them out completely for a while. Like a few months or so. Now I can eat them sometimes, but I don't crave them like I used to. Now I think more about how crap and bloated they…
  • I briefly tried it ages ago. Didnt enjoy it at all. I know people who have had lots of success, but its not for me. The idea of restricting specific veggies and almost all fruit seemed so counterintuitive.
  • Theres a difference between saying 'x diet is dumb because y & z' and going 'haha u r wrong' The first is still blunt. But it also provides some information/justification. Also re:your last part..... really? Did you even read what i said?
  • Cookies are impossible to eat in moderation  Like you said though, tomorrow is another day. A handful of cookies on one day will be a minimal blip in the long run.
  • hooray for inflamatory exaggeration designed to get under my skin! Nice one!
  • I appreciate that it could seem that way, I'm probably ruining peoples fun by calling them out if I think they're being smug or nasty. But someone has to stick up for the n00bs. Maybe then, they'll be inclined to stick around long enough to learn some useful information and ditch the fad diets. If they post a thread asking…
  • I've only really been reading the forums for a few weeks. I think the post-count should be removed from people's posts, I see way too much judgement based on post-count alone. Some people wear it as a badge of honour, and like to disregard others who've just joined, or just started posting. Because you know, this forum is…
  • ooooh that is genius.
  • Loooove Indian food. I can make a pretty decent curry, not an 'expert' by any means though. I have a pretty primal/paleo diet so I use butter, full fat coconut cream & sometimes greek yoghurt. There are less 'calorie dense' options but thats not important to me. Also they probably don't taste as good! We don't have rice…
  • I think I have been very clear in expressing exactly what I mean. Your problem lies with the users on this site who say 'calories' when they mean 'the source of calories'. Doesn't change the fact that the 'calories are calories' responses are boring, unhelpful and repetitive.
