I like making a chocolate sauce with cocoa powder & stevia & a bit of boiling water, and dipping fruit into it.

I don't even understand OP's point in linking to this. Its warped to compare a hunger strike to people dieting to lose weight. 1) They are clearly consuming less than their BMR and half of the magical 1200 cals, yet they appear to still be losing weight (2 prisoners have lost at least 15% of their bodyweight in under 2…

I'd be tempted to say 'fat is delicious & nutritious, its sugar that makes you fat!' Then if you have to elaborate, just say that highly processed sugar & additive-packed foods are a hell of a lot worse for you than eating the fatty bit of your steak. BUT also I know its hard to talk about something like that when everyone…

ahh i'll have to remember this! I keep forgetting that its meant to be good for your tummy. But yeah I'm always chasing fruit & veg smoothies when I'm hungover, whereas my friends seem to want to eat pub grub or KFC or something crap.

rofl I know what you mean. Some people get massively obsessive about it, there are loads of blogs where it's like ... really? OP, take everything you read with a grain of salt and make up your own mind about what suits your body best. I'm a fan, its the only 'radical' food plan I've tried that I've actually liked & stuck…

oh my god you have so many amazing looking ones. I think i just repinned 4 or 5 of them. chocolate avocado mousse is another life changer. I love the recipes where you feel like you're not behaving, but then remember that its actually good for you. Like cauliflower pizza, I always feel like it should be way worse for me…

I'm in this boat too. I deal with all 'employee' issues for a staff of 70 people. As well as invoicing, insurances, tenders etc. Definitely demanding!

Soy milk =/ I loved soy chai lattes. I'd have them at least 4-5 times a week

drink all the fizzy sweet artificial *kitten* you guys want to. I'm happy without it.

W2D1 in a few hours time! I meant to do it on Sunday, but left my phone at home. So I just made up intervals for 20 mins. At the end I did a few lots of 2min run, 1 min walk intervals - so I'm thinking I should go alright today!

because my gym has too many mirrors and they make me melt with shame.

I'm trying to just do what my body tells me lately. If I'm hungry, I'll snack on fruit. If I'm not hungry, I'll skip lunch or pick at a tiny portion. I've noticed that if I have a bad day & overeat, the next day I have hardly any appetite.

When you say clandestine I think.. secret? not hypocritical. you know, like telling someone she's a jerk for wanting to preach about food choices, while yelling at her about how you should eat all the cheetos in the world. that kind of hypocritical.

..what? http://www.theage.com.au/victoria/what-they-do-to-food-20120608-201su.html this article talks a bit about the various processes involved in supermarket fruit production. It also mentions a lot about how the taste is neglected in favour of visual appeal, how they change them artificially to make them look ripe…

I used to eat loads of diet stuff. light cheese, yoghurt, diet coke, weightwatcher cakes, etc etc. I did tests with diet coke and found that I'd be painfully hungry 3hrs after drinking a can, but not hungry at all with water in the same time frame. So it was easy to cut out fizzy drinks, because the options were 1. consume…

...you aren't allowed to eat bacon? I'd be inconsolable. maybe you could make yourself some kind of rich creamy smoothie with yoghurt and berries or something?

there are some paleo/primal groups on here that might be worth joining. Otherwise you'll be met with the 'food is not good or bad..... calories in/calories out are all that matters' brigade. I've done a pretty halfassed paleo for the last two months and I love it. I say halfassed because there has been a lot of alcohol and…

whats your favourite food? i'm gonna say something like a CBLAT. (chicken bacon lettuce avo tomato). fatty, proteiney, delicious.

maybe track a few days here and there to see how your carb intake is going? I haven't been tracking much at all, have just started recently as I figured I should see what I'm actually putting into my body! I have been trying to keep meat pretty minimal just so I don't overdo the protein (harder on the kidneys) but I'm…

Bacon, blates.

its funny because you guys are so preachy about it on here.

just depends how you define 'natural'. Naturally-occuring? cool. chemicals vs natural ingredients? bullsheet. I'm pretty horrified by the way fruit is processed by the supermarket giants, so I buy local. Those shiny red apples? crushed up red beetles -…

5kg in about two months. I've been pretty slack with it though. I lost 4kg in 4 weeks, hovered for a while because I don't stick to it on the weekends (:() and now I'm dropping weight again because I'm going to the gym as well as eating properly. now i'm almost at my old plateau weight, so hoping to bust on through -…

nobody is saying you shouldn't. Eat whatever works for you. I choose to avoid refined/processed sugar, and food with that sort of thing added to it. I don't have to worry about tracking calories or macros & eat as much as I want, still losing weight.
-
you also said 'sugar is sugar is sugar' and 'neither is more or less "healthy" than the other' both are misleading statements. sucrose may be sucrose regardless of form, but we're not just talking about that one ingredient. *shrug*
-
do you have any sources to say that sugar in fruit is identical to refined white sugar? I find it hard to believe, given how much crap sugar goes through before it ends up on your table as tiny white beads.
-
i read that it helps with reducing lactic acid buildup in muscles. not sure if thats true or not? I get leg cramps a lot in the middle of the night so I'm happy to try anything as a preventative measure.

I think its turning into a bragging thing, people are happily putting in their 2c about how frightfully wasteful we are with our grocery bills, haha. I've already said further up the thread but I'm not a huge fan of lite n easy. I don't like special 'diet' food, and thats pretty much all this is. If you can, imo you should…

I'm sorry but Americans can't go judging Australians on grocery bills. Our costs are far higher, as are wages, mortgages, etc etc. Everything costs more. My partner & I were on a pretty strict budget for a while - $200 a week for petrol and groceries. For two people, that was really difficult to stick to & still be…

that sounds like australian prices. 7 days, 3 meals a day? I have done it twice. I end up with a mountain of frozen dinners and bags of cereal whenever I stop doing it. I hate the dinners. Hate the smell they make in the microwave after a while. Also I'd recommend buying the 1500 cal pack on alternate weeks, and saving…
