I can relate to your experience. I have a very active 3yr old who doesn't want to let me exercise. I started taking him on walks during the day, and while it's not exactly vigorous exercise, it does get me out and active as well as getting him used to walking farther. I'm a night eater as well. I've been eating a smaller snack before bed, and drinking a glass of water or cup of decaf tea with it. Try something like a pickle or a couple crackers.
