I agree with the above posters who recommend going to a store that specializes in running/athletic shoes. They can help you out with what shoe may be better for your foot type. I purchased some Brooks Ravenna 5's not too long ago and I LOVE them! They are so comfortable and have great arch support, which is what I needed.…

Love all cheeses here too!! One of my current favorites is goat cheese. Its great on omelettes, on crackers, potatoes, etc. YUM!!

Awesome!! Great job! What an accomplishment!! You look great!!

Maybe its b/c you got the fat free kind. Try some that is 2% or higher. It taste so much better, IMO. Brands also very in thickness. Our favorite brand is Daily Chef from Sam's. I love to eat is plain along with my salad at lunch. YUM! I just wish it was lower in sodium.

Southern born and bred here too!! GO *kitten*!! :drinker:

YUM!!! Thank you for posting!! Probably going to make this over the weekend!! :drinker:

YUM!! This looks great! Thank you for sharing! I am going to make this soon! One of my favorite marinades for chicken breast is Dijon Mustard, Honey and Apple Cider Vinegar. The longer you have to marinate the better! Its soooo good! To keep the chicken from browning too much with the honey, I just make sure to watch over…

Walmart has some great inexpensive Danskin compression knee length leggings for around $12. They have several different types of material so you can see what works best for you. Danskin also has a great line of running shorts that come in all kind of colors. They are under $7. I have about 6 or 7 pair of the jogging shorts…

That is probably a good idea to go to another department store and get measured. I agree that VS isn't always accurate. I went in there a few weeks ago to get a new strapless bra for a special occasion and the lady measured me outside my clothes and said I was a 34C. No way I am a C cup! I even told her, I didn't think…

I had a BF analysis not to long ago and it came it at 15.5% This seems about right since I am seeing some increased ab and over all muscle definition. I did it more out of curiosity and as a tool to help guide me in on my fitness journey. I turned 40 and was getting all kinds of other general health tests done like…

smaller chested girl here too! I got measured at Victoria's Secret not to long ago and they measured me as a 34A. There were some styles of bras they didn't even make in that size. So I bought my "sister" size which was a 32B. Whatever that means. Anyways, I have always been small chested with the exception…

I agree with the poster that said to switch up your exercise routine. Try some strength training and HIIT. I have had success lowering my BF% by doing a variety of Jillian DVD's and strength training. Her workouts are really good at mixing cardio with weights. You can use heavier weights depending on what exercise you are…

Jillian has some videos you can find for free on youtube. Vimeo.com is free too. Some of my favorite ones I have found on those websites are Banish Fat Boost Metabolism, Six Week Six Pack and Killer Buns and Thighs. Pretty good calorie burn for less than an hour. Good luck with the 5x5 too!!

Great job!!! Way to go!! You look great!!

Great job everyone!! So inspiring!! I remember when I took my "before" picture. I was hoping one day to be able to post an after. I was turning 40 and really wanted to get back in shape before I hit the big 4-0! I feel better than I have in years! Just the other day hubby commented on my developing six pack!

Great suggestions from everyone! I am looking forward to checking some out myself.

Success is totally possible! I turned 40 in February and have lost 21 lbs and lowered my BF% since December. I did this all while enjoying my wine, beer, cheese, eating out, cooking awesome food, etc... I have always been within a healthy weight range, but really wanted to get back in shape like I was in my 20's. Hubby…

I agree too about not focusing so much on the scale. You look great in your profile, even if you are 5 lbs more now. When I started I was within my healthy weight range as well. What really worked for me was making sure to push myself and sweat! I have been doing a combo of Jillian DVD's and some lifting with free weights…

If you don't already have one, a food scale is a great way to make sure your portions are correct. I purchase mine brand new on Ebay for $8. A heart rate monitor can be a great tool as well. It can give you a better idea of how many calories you are burning during exercise. A food scale and HRM work hand in hand…

Black beans is a great idea! I am going to do this soon! I like to slice some avocado and then top it with salsa. Goat cheese and asparagus is also a great combination.

Plank exercises are great for core...Plank twists, mountain climbers, etc.

I love doing my cardio workouts, but I am looking forward to doing more lifting too. Thank you all for your responses. Its great to hear what works for others!
-
Great job!! You look awesome! Way to go!!

I agree with the others that suggested the 30 Day Shred. It can give great results, but you have to put in the effort and sweat! Also, don't reduce your caloric intake. Set your goal to maintenance and eat! Reducing your calorie intake is not going to give you the results you want. You need to increase your cardio and lift…

YUM!! Thank you for the recipe! My kids would love this too! ETA: I found bagged black beans in the freezer section at our grocery store. They have no added salt, so its great for those wanting to cut down on sodium. You also don't have to drain it like you would with canned. Nothing wrong with canned beans, but…

I totally agree with the above! You have to find something you enjoy doing and stick with it! I am also 40 with 2 kids and have had success doing a mixture of Jillian DVD's, running and using free weights at home. I really enjoy Jillian's workouts. I am now increasing the weights I use during the exercises and can really…

I was also thinking the 30DS might be a good option for the OP. The key to anyone reaching their goal, is to make sure its something you will stick with. If the 30 Day Shred is a type of exercise you would enjoy, then go for it. It is a great workout and will help you gain strength and endurance. You can also use heavier…

I think you both look great! Nice healthy looking young couple! I would do both cardio and strength training to accomplish your fitness goals. Cardio would help you with the "fluff" (which you don't have much, if any at all  ) and strength training will help keep what muscle you have and build more. Hubby and I have…

wow!! All of you have done an amazing job!!! Way to go!!!
