  • 40 year old mom of 2 here too! You can do it! All I can say is log, log, log! Log your food and exercise everyday. Don't eliminate your comfort foods, log them and include them on occasion when you can. Remember this is a lifestyle, not a diet. Find some exercise you can really get into and enjoy! Try out some of Jillian's…
  • Agree with this too! I am 40 yrs old, a little over 5'7" and my current weight is 134 with 15.5% BF. I have lost 16 lbs and have increase my muscle tone. I couldn't imagine getting down to 120. For me personally, that would be way to thin with little muscle. I am sure it can vary from person to person depending on body…
  • LOVE spicy food here too!! I always have a huge bag of fresh jalapenos in the fridge. I cook them with everything. If we are grilling I throw a whole one on the grill and eat it with dinner. If I have something in the crockpot...I throw a few whole ones in there to have with dinner as well. Its SOOO good! Bottled hot sauce…
  • YAY!! Glad to others still doing the challenge! Day 14 - 90 seconds. That was tough! It was a good way to end my workout for the day! I could really feel my abs working! woohoo!!
  • We always use light mayo, so it lightens it up a bit. Greek yogurt and/or sour cream would be great too! I could also see doing half light mayo, half sour cream. yum!!
  • We made some chicken salad sandwiches over the weekend and I cut up three eggs to put in the mix too! YUMMY! 1 lb of boiled Chicken Tenders, shredded 1 cup of Mayo 1/2 cup chopped celery 1/2 cup chopped onion chopped dill pickle lemon juice 3 boiled eggs, chopped salt & pepper to taste

  • Turned 40 a few months ago! I log food and exercise everyday! Feel free to add me! It's great to have more friends so we can encourage each other!
  • I think its great to ask yourself these questions! So many people jump into it without even thinking about it. So what you are doing is a good healthy thing, IMO. Hubby and I have been together 20 years and will be celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary this summer. We have two great kids and truly enjoy spending time…
  • Thank you all again for the suggestions! We grilled eggplant the other night and I also got some asparagus to do this weekend too. I have never grilled cabbage before! We are going to have to try that. I actually have a head of it in the fridge now. May have to do that tonight! :drinker: Love the grilled portabella too! We…
  • No gym here either! LIke Jillian said...you don't need a gym, "just shake what your Mama gave ya"! I love my collection of Jillian DVD's, my treadmill and running/walking outside. We have a bench and a set of free weights that range from 1lbs to 25lbs that we use as well. My kids love doing the workouts with me…
  • Thank you! That sounds great! We are having fish on the grill tonight, so that will go prefect! Love the idea of wrapping it in bacon!
  • Day 9 & 10 - Done! :drinker:
  • I could have practically written your post, Beaches! We do just about the same thing. Walmart is the closest grocery store to us and we are in there far more than we need to be. Its almost like everyone knows our name kindof thing. But, we do find that their prices on things like sour cream, yogurt, milk, butter,…
  • Love the Dove promises too. We always have a bowl of them in the kitchen. My favorite are the dark chocolate squares. YUM!
  • I just found this recipe this morning. Will be making this soon! • Day 8! 45 seconds done! :drinker: Anyone else still doing it too?
  • I love both of those workouts. If I have time I will do both back to back. Great workout and burns lots of calories. If you don't already have the DVD's you can find some on vimeo.com and youtube. 6 week 6 pack is also a great DVD. I have been doing that one as well. I agree that you can't really go wrong with any of her…
  • Day 7 - 45 seconds complete! :drinker:
  • Checking in for Day 6. Its a rest day, but I sure did a lot of plank exercises during my workouts today! :drinker: Hope everyone is having a great day!
  • I have had two c-sections and after each one I would walk/run on the treadmill or pushing the jogging stroller to help get me back to my pre-pregnancy weight. The cardio in the beginning really helped shed the weight. I would also focus on core exercises as well. Like another poster, I totally recommend Jillian's 30DS. Its…
  • Day 4 - 40 seconds! DONE!! Happy Friday everyone!! :drinker:
  • Welcome to the 40's! I turned 40 a few months ago too! You can do this! 12 - 20 lbs isn't much at all! Make sure to log your food and exercise. Its so beneficial to see how many calories you consume vs. burn with exercise. Good luck!!
  • I vote for any of Jillian's workouts as well! Like someone else said her workouts range from 30 to 60 or so minutes. I have a lot of her DVD's and switch it up everyday. If I have more time I will do two different DVD's on the same day. You can view them on youtube and vimeo.com as well. Its always nice to try them before…
  • Hubby and I both love to play golf. It was over 15 years ago...we were playing golf at a beautiful golf course on a gorgeous spring day. At the end of the round he put the ring in the cup on the 18th green. When I reached in to get my ball out of the cup the box was in there too! He got down on one knee and proposed to me…
  • Great job everyone!!! I agree! 30 seconds doesn't seem that long...but when you are doing it, you really have to focus! Day 4 - done!! :drinker:

  • That's awesome you two push each other! Hubby and I do that too! We always have said that we motivate each other. Its been that way for 20 years! I hope you kick his butt today! ETA: It says on the challenge that you can do it as many times as you would like in one day. But one long one like you guys are…
