  • One night, or even a few nights of celebration is not going to ruin all your hard work. If you know your going out one night then just exercise a bit more that morning. If I were in Ireland I would enjoy all of those wonderful beers you guys have over there, then cap it of with an Irish coffee. yum! Just have fun and enjoy…
  • I love Brooks too. I agree with the others. Go to a running store where they can check your arch, etc to recommend a good shoe for you. I was Asics forever, but when I switched to Brooks, per their suggestion, it made a big difference.
  • Have you ever tried goat cheese? 1 oz is 80 calories. I love it on crackers, salads, eggs, etc.
  • I love Jillian's workouts too. I have my favorites I rotate depending on the amount of time I have and what I feeling like doing that particular day. I didn't really like Body Revolution for some reason. There were some workouts I liked and then others I didn't. I have been thinking about getting Bodyshred, so I would love…
  • A food scale is a must. It is so important to start understanding portion size and portion control. As long as there is not a medical reason, you do not have to eliminate anything from your diet. Just measure, log it and meet you calorie goal and you will lose weight. Add some exercise and you will be able to eat a little…
  • Spinach, Mushroom and Goat cheese omelette with 3 slices of bacon, a big slice of avocado and sriracha sauce.
  • Do you weigh your food/drinks?
  • Way to go!! You look fantastic!! Great job!!
  • Great job! You look fantastic! There are a lot of people that can give you some great advice on recomp.
  • You can find the 30 Day Shred online so you can start sooner. Check you tube or just google it and you can find a video of it. Its a great workout to help someone get into an exercise routine. Have fun!
  • I can relate too. I have been maintaining for over 2 years now after losing about 10/15 lbs. I hover around 138/140. I weight every morning and am happy to see the scale not going up. I do like it when it goes down a bit, but don't want it to go down too much. I guess my happiness now comes from looking in the mirror and…
  • The majority of my workouts are at home. There are so many good workout videos available online. You just need to find what you enjoy and what works for you. My favorite workouts are Jillian's Banish Fat Boost Metabolism, No More Trouble Zones and Six Week Six Pack. If your just getting started 30 Day Shred is a great way…
  • I love Jillian's workouts. I always mix it up depending on the amount of time I have or what I feel like doing that particular day. The ones you mentioned are great. Some of my favorites are Banish Fat Boost Metabolism, No More Trouble Zones, and Six Week Six Pack. I also like to add some weight training to the mix too.…
  • Welcome to MFP! I am 42 and lost about 10/15 lbs before my 40th birthday with the help of MFP. You can do it!
  • Great job!! Keep up the awesome work!!
  • Avocado, cheese, chicken, ice cream and wine.
  • It could be different on any given day. Sometimes I need a little snack before I exercise in the mornings, other days I don't need anything but a glass of water. Just go with how you feel.
  • I would not log your job as exercise. Set your activity level to "lightly active" since you are on your feet most of the day and then log your exercise separately.

  • I have always been within a normal weight range, but it wasn't until I dropped my BF% that I really started seeing the results I wanted.
  • I used to love doing Zumba DVD's at home. I have never done a Zumba class but it looks like a lot of fun! Try adding some weight training on other days. Have fun!

  • We love the Toufayan smart pockets. One pocket is 80 calories (wheat) and the original (white) is 100 calories. We fill ours with meat/cheese/lettuce/hot peppers and a little bit of Ken's light Caesar dressing.
  • I love cookbooks, but I also enjoy getting magazine subscriptions. They are so inexpensive and you get a new one every month. They also focus on recipes for the seasons/holiday of that particular month. Not all of them are "low cal" recipes, but a lot of them do have the nutritional content of the recipe and you can tweak…
  • I find it easy to log too. I think its people not weighing their food properly and/or overestimating calorie burn. ETA: I have never seen the USDA website. I use the food labels that is on whatever I am eating, weigh it, and then compare it to the database.
  • Wow! I didn't want to quote just one of those before and afters b/c all of you look awesome!! Great job!! You all look amazing!! I am a mom of 2 (2 c-sections) and 42 yrs old. I lost about 15 lbs over two years ago and have been maintaining ever since. Do you have a food scale? IMO, a food scale is so important. You don't…
  • For me I like being at the low end of my goal range too. I know if the scale creeps up to 144, its not muscle. Its probably the mexican food and beer I had over the weekend. So, I try to reign it in and eat below maintenance for a little while. I think your on the right track. Some may think a few pound fluctuation…
  • I totally understand what you are saying. Being in maintenance myself for 2+ years I want to make sure to stay within my goal weight range. However, we can get stuck on just looking at the scale. (i'm guilty of doing this too) How do your clothes fit? Are you gaining more muscle? When I first lost my lowest was 132, but as…
  • If you like Jillian's style of workouts I highly recommend No More Trouble Zones, Banish Fat Boost Metabolism and Six Week Six Pack. I love rotating these depending on the time I have to exercise and what I feel like doing that particular day. All of those can be found on youtube, as well. HTH!
  • We eat potatoes all the time. They are so inexpensive and you can cook them so many different ways. Just make sure to weigh it and keep it within your calorie goal.

  • I love my hot sauces too, but when I am trying to reduce sodium I like to use fresh jalapenos. I will steam them with my vegetables or grill them too. I also like to add cayenne pepper or crushed red pepper. That's a good way to add the heat without the extra sodium.
