  • I love to cook, so we will cook something a little fancy and indulgent at home with the kids. Probably do some type of yummy sweet too. oh yeah.. and there will be some nice beer involved. We are usually simple and have Bud Light, but we will have to drink something a little different for V-day.
  • yes, I could see doing this. I imagine there is a lot of vitamins in the peel. At least it would be a smoother texture once you put it in a blender with some other liquids.
  • yes! The fuzzy brown peel. I didn't know people ate it. We usually cut it in half and scoop the fruit out. The peel just seems so...idk...too fuzzy to eat. lol
  • That just sounds awful. Reminds me of the kiwi's we just bought. The package said you can even eat the peel. :o
  • If you do purchase CIZE, make sure to shop around. You can usually find it cheaper that buying through the Beachbody website. Ebay is a great place to purchase new and used workout DVDs or programs. I purchased Insanity Max30 (another Beachbody workout) brand new for about half the price of the Beachbody website. I have…
  • 42 year old mom of 2 here. I lost about 10/15 lbs a few years ago and have kept it off ever since. I was never overweight, but just wanted to feel better and look better. I try to do some type of cardio mixed with weights 3 to 4 times a week and maintain at around 1800 calories. I love to cook, so that helps with knowing…
  • That's too funny. I bet you rocked that belt.
  • I have to agree with you there. Daisy was one cool chic back in the day. I loved all of the characters on that show. Boss Hog, Rosco P. Coltrane (and his sidekick Flash) , Uncle Jesse, and you can't forget Cooter. lol
  • Chips (loved Ponch and John) That was the best theme song! lol! Dukes of Hazzard (loved Bo and Luke)
  • Do you like to cook? When I was your age I purchased several cookbooks and really started to enjoy cooking. That was before the internet (lol  ). Now you have a huge choice of different cooking websites that can help you make all kinds of delicious meals/snacks. Nothing wrong with eating out, too. Its just nice to…
  • I'm 5'8" and maintain around 138/140. I lost about 15 lbs over two years ago and have been maintaining ever since. This weight feels really good to me. Not too hard to maintain and my clothes fit great (around a size 6 depending on the brand). The past two summers I have been able to confidently wear a bikini which feels…
  • I had almost the same post back in January of 2013. I had about 15 lbs to lose and was looking online for different programs. I thought about WW, but came across MFP and have been using it off and on ever since. Instead of buying into WW, use that money to purchase a food scale and a heart rate monitor. IMO, those are an…
  • I use my crock pot about 4 days a week. My favorite is White bean chicken chili. We had it last night and it was so good. I use chicken breast, great northern beans (canned or homemade, depending on how much time I have), a can of green chilies, celery, carrots, onion, and chicken broth. There are a lot of different…
  • I was looking for reviews of Body Shred and saw this post. How are you guys doing? Are you still enjoying it?
  • Insanity Max30 is a good program. All of the exercises are 30 minutes and you can really workup a sweat quick. For days you have a little bit more time there are also some 15 minute ab routines. HTH!
  • Welcome! I turn 42 in a few weeks. I lost 15 lbs about two years ago and have been maintaining ever since. MFP is a great tool to help you along your journey. Good luck! You can do it!!
  • I would recommend a food scale too. It helps to count calories accurately and to see exactly what a portion size is. It also helps to use a heart rate monitor to see exactly how many calories you are burning during exercise. The two work hand and hand since the key to weight loss is calories in vs. calories out. Great job…
  • I love to cook (and eat) too! I have always enjoyed seeing your pics and your recipes.
  • This sounds so good. I am going to have to try these. Thanks everyone for the ideas! (Queenmunchy ~ you always have the best recipes! )
  • One of my favorites in the crock pot is White Chicken Chili. I sometimes make my own beans ahead of time, but its also good with canned beans too. I used about 3 chicken breasts, two cans of great northern beans (drained and rinsed), a can of pinto beans (drained and rinsed), and maybe a can of black beans (drained and…
  • homemade spinach artichoke dip, and a homemade cheese potato ham soup from our leftover Christmas ham. It was so good! Going to have it for leftovers tonight. yum!
  • Do you have a crockpot? I use mine all the time during the week. Most of my favorite recipes are only a few ingredients. Try searching some websites for different recipes. Right now I have a hamburger potato soup cooking for dinner tonight. Last week we had beef stew. I think tomorrow I will do a pork tenderlion with some…
  • I love using applesauce as an egg replacement. It also works well as an oil replacement in some baking recipes.
  • right there with you. Love beer and wine. I had about 15 lbs to lose (2 years ago) and tracked every drop until I lost the weight. Now I just keep a mental track of what I consume and keep it in moderation ....except for when I am watching college football. Calories don't count then.
  • yes, I counted the spinach too. I put my recipe in the recipe builder and this is how it totaled for me on my food diary for one portion. Servings : 6 2 lbs thinly sliced boneless skinless chicken breast 6 wedges laughing cow cheese original swiss 2 cups chopped spinach 1 can artichoke hearts, drained Calories 180 Fat 5…
  • The chicken I used totaled almost 2 lbs and I had 6 pieces, so they were about 5 oz. a piece. Not a bad portion size with the spinach mixture included. We had it with saffron rice and green beans. It was really good. The kids and I shared the last one for a snack just now and it was so good. Can't wait to have it again. I…
  • Just wanted to say that this was fantastic. I bought the thin sliced chicken breast, so it was very easy to put the spinach mixture in and secure it with the toothpick. I also sprinkled some Mozzarella cheese on top when it was done. It was so easy and fast. My husband and the kids loved it too. This is going on our…
  • I just went to the store and got everything I needed to make this tonight. I entered everything in the recipe builder and it came up to 180 calories per serving and 30 grams of protein. Here's my recipe and portions I used to come up with the calorie content. I am getting ready to make it, so I will tweak it if it looks…
  • This looks so good! I may have to make this tonight! Thank you for sharing! @meganridenour - I bet making it with goat cheese would be fantastic too. I am going to try that, as well. Love goat cheese!
  • Make sure you do not over stir. This can take the air out of the batter and make it not rise properly, as well.
