  • Take everything that' s bad for you in your cabinets/fridge and THROW THEM AWAY! Don't buy it, if it's not in the house you can't eat it. And you should allow yourself a cheat day...figure out what thing satiates you when get your cravings and have that. It's work to change your eating habits, so log EVERYTHING you eat, no…
  • I was taking Flintstones Complete (chewables), don't laugh, they are one of the most complete multi-vitamins on the market! Recently switched to another multi so now I have to take Iron supplement and drink more Almond Milk to get my calcium for the day. Also take a B-Complex sublingual.
  • "I married him because he accepted me with my daughter" That is a really poor reason to marry someone in the first place....
  • Relationships are two way streets, however this guy sounds like a jerk who really isn't much interested in being a partner to you and a father to his kids. And while everything is not all your fault, if you continue to do things for him (bring him food while he's playing his games/guitar) and allow him to treat you like…
  • Get an electric burner and boil some eggs. Have them for bfast along w/some fresh veggies. Or get reduced sodium ham or turkey deli meats and add some avocado and wrap them w/lettuce leaves. Also, greek yogurt is a great source of protein, as is cottage cheese (again get reduced sodium kind) - just add some fruit.
  • I am currently on 50/25/25 (fat/protein/carb) which is working pretty well, but think I may bump up the protein and lower the carbs a bit
  • If you are trying to lose weight, it is a good idea to cut back a little on the fruit or go w/those lower on the glycemic scale. Add some extra veggies to your daily diet instead. As my Dr told me, sugar is sugar....
  • I grew up on raw milk and had forgotten how awesome it tastes (as opposed to pastuerized) until my sister brought me some (she is in a herd share program)!

  • so you're going to net 200-400 calories a day? Not nearly enough to properly fuel your body on a daily basis, let alone for a 1/2 marathon

  • right on...people don't get that you need fat in your diet....just not the stuff that comes from processed foods!
  • Ground turkey and/or meat in general isn't bad for you...using lean cuts of any type of meat is just fine and provides an excellent source of protein
  • I just started the paleo way a couple weeks ago...although giving up wine is not likely to happen. Am trying to limit it to once a week though. All fresh fruits/veggies and meat....no processed foods, cheese (bummer!) or grains.
  • agreed...make your own breakfast if you want something "healthier"....in addition, steak & avocado is not a particularly unhealthy breakfast...skip the mashers though...especially if made w/milk & butter.
  • coconut milk is actually good for you....high sodium will likely be an issue. Order some pad thai w/meat & veggies...skip the rice and ask for extra steamed vegetables.
