  • Beautiful! I wish I had gone out yesterday.
  • I have lost 19 pounds and have 127 more to lose. My stretch goal is to be down another 21 pounds by New Years day. After the initial 40 pounds, weight loss usually slows significantly for me so I'm shooting to average 2 pounds per week thereafter.
  • Thanks for sharing the pictures. That's one heck of a hike in the bitter cold temperatures.
  • Walking is instinctive that really doesn't require much thought on my part. When I use the word hike, the activity usually involves a moderate ascent/descent and involves some thinking regarding the terrain and navigation. The distance doesn't matter to me.
  • I hadn't heard it phrased like that before but I think I qualify also.
  • I'm feeling a whole lot better now. I'm an amateur compared to you professional hikers.
  • HikerLiz, you are as bad as me. I'm glad that I'm not alone out there.
  • Forgot to thank you for posting the No Bake Energy Bites. Thank you!
  • Hello, I'm Brian from Northern Idaho. Extreme backpacking trips have been on hold over the past seven years and I'm hoping to be back in full stride next year. I enjoy exploring the nearby Bitterroot Range but there are so many opportunities nearby it's difficult to choose where to go. My preference is to take the less…
  • I have used the BodyMedia Core armband for nearly a year and it is one of the best tracking devices I have ever used. Since it tracks the intensity of my activity, I rarely use my heart rate monitor now. You get what you pay for and the subscription is worth every dollar!
  • Yes, its okay to eat a small breakfast. A few months ago I cut my usual breakfast portion in half. During work days I try to eat my largest meal of the day at 2 p.m. It's been working well for me. I believe the important thing is NOT skipping breakfast and eating smaller meals 4-5 times per day.

  • Found a great low sodium pizza crust recipe http://www.lowsodiumcooking.com/free/WholeWheatPizzaDough.htm
  • Name brand prices are ridiculous.
  • A 30 day supply of the three BP medicines I currently take would cost $46.21 through Costco Pharmacy. I use generic equivalents and it saves me a lot. Costco Pharmacy has online drug pricing available at the following: http://www2.costco.com/Pharmacy/DrugInformation.aspx?p=1
  • I'm making a whole wheat low sodium pizza crust today. The premade crusts available in the grocery stores are loaded with too much sodium. A popular 12" 100% whole wheat crust has 230 mg of sodium per serving. The homemade crust I'm making should have less than 3 mg of sodium for the same size serving. I hope it tastes…
  • I tried the Energy Oatmeal from my DASH cookbook this morning. Egg whites in oatmeal sure changed the texture and flavor. I'm glad the recipe called for blueberries, cinnamon and ginger. I added it to My Meals as I plan on eating it on occasion. Sodium = 250 mg
  • I tried an Energy Oatmeal recipe from The DASH Diet Cookbook. Adding egg whites you oatmeal changes the texture and taste. The combination of blueberries, cinnamon and ginger was good. I added a packet of Truvia for a little more sweetness but it wasn't necessary.

  • I had a very positive support experience with BodyMedia today. They responded quickly and are replacing my broken armband straps at no additional cost.
  • I purchased a DASH Diet cookbook and will be sharing the good dessert recipes as we try them.
  • You're right. It helps a lot when you're on the same page. II'm looking forward to hearing of your successes
  • Had a very positive experience with BodyMedia FIT customer service today. I received a quick response and they are sending out my replacement armband straps at no additional cost.
  • Thanks for sharing the recipe. Sounds good and I'll have to try it.
  • Hi Tiffany, my name is Brian and I'm sorry to hear about your husband's high blood pressure issues. I hope we can be of some help but it sounds like you're already on the right track with exercise. Many health professionals have told me that exercise is the "magic bullet" for hypertension. Feel free to friend me.
  • I would return them if they are causing that much pain. My last two pairs of boots (Mendl and Montrail) were very comfortable right out of the box. Whenever I buy a new pair of boots, I also purchase new insoles, socks and sock liners. What kind of boots/shoes did you walk in before you purchased the new boots?
  • I just checked costco.com and it's $120 with a 12 month subscription
