  • I have this problem too. I'm ALWAYS thinking about food now - what I can eat next, how long until lunch, if I can fit x calories in here, etc. I find it strange that when I ate whatever I wanted, I never thought about food at all and now that I'm trying to make better choices, I think about food allll the time.
  • Took a 2+ week hiatus and decided it was time to kick myself in the butt and get out there. Did my FIRST run outside (I live in Wisconsin, we got 16 inches of snow two weeks ago) ever since starting C25k Started back over on Week Three Day three (you may remember I was struggling with Week 4) I successfully did 1.44 miles…
  • 30 year old mom of a 3 year old not looking to lose much more weight, but I want to lose lots of inches!
  • I have the same issue! My butt and thighs are my trouble areas and I've lost inches everyonewhere else! Just doesn't seem right!! LOL
  • The number I'm pulling for my husband seems absolutely nuts. He's currently about 250 lbs, is at 39% BF, and is currently eating about 1600 calories a day and is very lightly active (maybe 2-3 half an hour walks a week, otherwise at a very sedentary 12 hour a day desk job) He's lost 35 lbs in the 100 days we've been doing…
  • When you run on the treadmill, are you using any sort of incline? Different sources say different things, but you should always be running on a 1-3% incline on the treadmill to help adjust to the resistance that you receive when running on pavement (aka the pavement does nothing to propel you like a treadmill does) This…
  • Three slices of pizza is not a failure. Eating the whole pizza is a failure.
  • Took another crack at W4D1 and still couldn't run the entire time, despite drastically decreasing my speed (was running before at 5.0-5.2, max speed tonight was 4.5, mostly 4.3) Did discover that I can either slow jog or speed walk at 4.3 mph so I speed walked the last three and five minute session with a tiny bit of…
  • Thanks for all the tips guys!! Just to clarify, I live in a very rural area. I can drive 15 minutes and have the choice of two gyms, one of which is $40/month and the other is about $35/month with very work-unfriendly hours. Neither fit in my budget. If I had one of those $10/month chain gyms around here, I'd be all over…
  • 129 5'4" 8-10. I could comfortably do a 6/8 if it weren't for my thighs....
  • Yep, that's my plan for tomorrow's run. I like really challenging myself to get a better mile time each time (helps the treadmill time go by faster when I have something to focus on) but those spells of running fast (for me) really throw off my overall endurance. Will be slowing down 1/2 mph for the next run and will…
  • So I see that being in those areas is good for peak performance and greatly increasing fitness, but should I be in those areas for 50% plus of my run? Does that mean I'm working too hard since I'm out of shape? What about hitting my "max heart beat" which would put me at 100% or even 101% A sign to take it easier??
  • I currently walk between a 3.5 and 3.7 and run at a 4.8 or 5 BUT I think I'm going to try to run at a 4.5 instead since I flopped my Week 4 badly. Oh, and I'm running on a treadmill with an incline set to 2.
  • I did Week 4, Day 1 today and totally bombed it. In my defense, I was trying out new shoes that hurt my feet, but still I managed to run 4 minutes in the first 5 minute stretch and then I speed walked (4.3 mph) the next 5 minute stretch because my heart rate was just out of control. I plan on trying Day One again on Friday.
  • They're about $100 on Amazon.ca in the Marketplace.
  • I've used both the Polar FT4 and Polar FT60. The FT4 is very basic and I found the tracking on the FT60 to be more accurate and more motivating overall (it compares old data, lets you set goals, etc)
  • I'm on the waiting list at the library for this!
  • I think the writing itself is better in Bared to You than in 50 Shades.
  • Great job!!!
  • I came in last at the first (and only) 5k I did and my time was about 49 minutes. That being said, there are a lot of 5ks that have both runners and walkers. I thought this was one of them, in which case a 49 minute time would have meant I wasn't last LOL
  • I'm on week 3 of the Couch to 5k program and am signed up to do a 5k Color Run on July 19th. I am also hoping to walk (possibly run?) a 5k the first weekend in June, but we'll see how my training goes! Adding all of you who seem to be in he same boat with starting from scratch :o)
  • Out of the 11 pounds I've lost, the most reduction in inches I've seen has been in my chest. I was barely in a C before so this really does not thrill me at all!!!
  • Definitely a big difference! Great job!
  • I do get a 15 minute break, but I'm the only person in the entire store, so I still need to help customers if need be. Standing around eating isn't the issue, but it really has to be something I can do while I am still watching the store.
  • My big recommendation at this age, depending on where they live, is something to enjoy outdoors. At that age, a little ride in car (like a cozy coupe), an outdoor swing, a slide, etc would fit right into your price range and provide for hours and possibly years of entertainment. My now three year old son plays on his swing…
  • She's not going to remember a toy or an outfit or anything else you buy her either. I struggled with this concept too (like, why throw a birthday party, it's not like they're going to remember it) but with little kids, it's all about joy NOW. If they think something is awesome and have a great outing or a toy that they…
  • If you buy the kit with the mat, video, poster, and weights, it comes with 3 lb weights.
  • I don't feel this is accurate anymore, as I eat a different granola bar for breakfast now and have done so for longer than I did the one that is on my Top 3..... Quaker Chewy Bar - Chocolate Chip Granola Bar Land O Lakes - 1% Low Fat Milk Clover Valley - Microwave Popcorn Extra Butter Flavor
