  • I'm in!!! Goal weight by July 4th (lines up with my summer vacation plans) is 175. That's a little less than 20 lbs from where I'm currently at but if I make 20lbs, even better! I definitely could use the motivation, accountability, and support :)
  • Check out what's called a "Flip Belt" from Level Terrain...it's designed specifically for this purpose and is really handy for runners or anyone who needs to free up their hands. You can get them from several websites including Amazon but most running stores will have them as well.
  • My aunt has fibromyalgia and can barely walk without extreme pain. She swims for her exercise and has little to no pain since there's no pressure on her joints in the water. Swimming is also an awesome workout...hope this helps :frown:
  • According to my HRM and depending on my intensity (varies from class to class due to my asthma)...I burn between 450 - 600 per class (HR between 130 and 175). The fitter you are the less you burn unfortunately but either way I'd recommend investing in a heart rate monitor if you want more accurate results; 233 seems low if…
  • I've only been on MFP for about 6 weeks but I've been on my weight loss journey for about a year and a half. I lost the first 30lbs fairly quickly then for a year I was stuck at the same weight and even gained 10 back. Not happy! Finally I went to a nutritionist and she referred me to MFP and I've lost 7lbs to date. While…
  • Love the sarcasm sign! Mine goes like this (my asthma/allergies have been on a massive rampage lately and at times I struggle breathing doing nothing)... Me: I really should rest, my chest is tight and breathing is a struggle... RV: You have your inhaler and your breathing is already 90% better than it was this morning AND…
  • From everyone in my family...only one person lost a tiny bit of weight with this but from what I've seen, it's not typical.
  • As a background...I come from a long family history of diabetes. That being said; unless you're diabetic (typically type 2) or have PCOS, then you should not take this drug. If it's not necessary to treat these diseases, the side effects far out weigh the advantages.
  • Oops...it posted twice :noway:
  • Body Pump is pretty much the same as what my gym calls Group Power and Body Combat is the same as our Group Kick (it looks like at least). Both are really good classes and like someone already mentioned; body pump is weight based (it'll work any and all muscle groups, typically, in a one hour class) and body combat is…
  • Congrats on the weight loss and being so close to goal! I've only been on MFP for just over a month but I can definitely see that happening. I freaked out quite a bit when I flew out to babysit my nieces for a long weekned; worrying over every single calorie and thing I ate. It was exhausting... Unfortunately I don't have…
  • I always have callouses on my hands; between tons of tennis, boot camp and cycling...there really isn't a way around them. Without them my hands would be killing me during these exercises/sports; it took a lot of hard work to get them so I figure they can stay
  • Thanks! That helps make my decision a bit easier.
  • I almost always wear a hat which seems to be more of a rarity for us women out there. My reasons are... 1) I hate it when sweat is dripping everywhere constantly; the hat helps control this a bit more but on a really intense workout it will still drip some. 2) I have naturally curly hair so when I sweat it's not pretty…
  • I play tennis and have friends who suffer from this often. There's some sort of band/strap/wrap they wear around their forearm that helps prevent/control it. Sorry I can't remember the name of it but I know it's only about 1 1/2" to 2" wide...probably can be found at a tennis store or maybe around the ace brace/wrap…
