I want it to be easier to run to catch the bus when it's pulling away! I also want to be able to wear some of those ridiculous clubbing tops that don't cover the belly. Just so that I can say I can.

In my experience, these people are either a) really young (what the hell my teenage metabolism was amazing. I moved less than I do now, ate more, and was 20 pounds lighter) or b) they're very muscular/athletic OR have calorie-burning jobs like being a waitress and are just burning off way more calories than they want to…

I'm not vegetarian, but I like using baked tofu for my salad lunches because 1. It's pretty cheap 2. It's pretty heart-healthy 3. After you bake it, it keeps for longer (4-5 days) before it starts tasting stale or old. I find that baked chicken starts tasting sorta old/gross after being in the fridge for 2 or 3 days. (I…

I save cheat days for social occasions. If there is one party in a week that I know there will be lots of junk food at, I log all of the food for the week other than at that party. (I don't do it more than once a week though, so sometimes, if a few things are happening that week, I am that awkward person in the corner…

I'm not hungry all the time anymore. I've started analyzing my hunger for what it really is, and 3/4 of the time, it can be sated by doing something distracting with my hands or drinking a water or herbal tea.

I'm short too. I am doing a lot more cardio than I used to as half of my weight loss plan. The other half of my weight loss plan is to prepare and measure almost all of my meals. Going out to a restaurant for a person trying to lose, who has a low calorie limit due to having a small frame, is not something one should do as…

I was about to mention molasses. Among the sweeteners, it's the one that's ALSO a stealth "health" food with those unexpected nutrients!

You need to replace that behavior with a new behavior. Exercise is of course best, but if you don't have space for it or you are really tired one day, you can try doing something else with your hands like knitting, drawing, or playing with a fidget toy.

I'm so accustomed to tons of fresh garlic in most of the savory dishes I make, that when I eat "garlic bread" from a restaurant, that dehydrated garlic they must use on the bread (?) doesn't even register as garlic to me, I just taste butter.

Caffeinated Fruit/Fiber/Protein Smoothie. Coffee version - 1/2 cup low fat plain greek yogurt, 1/2 cup 1% milk, 2 tea spoons freshly-ground flax seeds, 1 medium frozen banana, 2 teaspoons plain cocoa powder, 2 teaspoons instant espresso powder, 1 teaspoon sugar. Matcha version - 1/2 cup low fat plain greek yogurt, 1/2 cup…

Wallaby organic plain tastes incredible. Not tart at all but still packed with protein like Greek yogurt's supposed to be. Very filling. They have it at whole foods. It costs and arm and a leg but I only use half a cup at a time since it's so filling. I make smoothies with it.

Just looking at a photo of myself from this summer. My face is just too round. I don't look like my self image anymore. Time to turn that around. I'm usually not that self-conscious about pictures of myself. This was a new feeling.

My very nice manager got our department 2 dozen donuts. There are only 4 of us in the office today so there were a lot of extra sitting around! The smell was so enticing, but I told myself I have to log everything, and I know that I don't even like the taste of Dunkin Donuts as much as I like the smell (I am a snob with…

The country that invented malteasers, Flake bars, and Cadbury Creme Eggs can't insult the country that invented Oreos for its taste in junk food. I argue they're similarly repulsive if you didn't grow up with them.

As someone who likes drawing people and studied a bit of human anatomy to aid in this drawing - some of it can be changed with weight loss and body building. But a lot of it boils down to the shape/proportions of your skeleton which is, as others said, not changeable.

I have a lot of leftover apples from picking them this weekend. You can wash, and slice, and bake them, with the skin on - but without adding any sugar or anything. I just added cinnamon. They taste like apple pie! I guess the taste of apple pie isn't just from the added sugar and butter - something magical happens to…

Lately I've been piling about as much raw chopped kale or curly spinach into a salad-bowl-sized tupperware container as would fit (practically) and then putting home-cooked rice and baked tofu on top of it. I then cover it with hot sauce and take it to work, where I microwave it just for 1:30, long enough to make it hot…

I get more religious about calorie counting and exercising this time of the year precisely because it used to be the time of the year that I'd gain. I hope to be a few pounds lighter by then.

Are you *trying* to start a second civil war?

I envy you a little! Someday! Someday I will have my own house. Primarily so I can grow herbs, berries, and vegetables in the back yard!

Great job! And ;) to your good looks that are showing easily now. Also, what sport are you playing in the photo captioned 'agile'? It looks like a huge bouncy surface with kickballs..?

I am sorry to hear that working out doesn't fit into your schedule. I've found that some cardio a) makes me emotionally feel good and b) gives me some extra calories that I can 'play with' later that allows me to more easily go out to a restaurant or have a few glasses of wine socially. Even if you don't 'have to' exercise…

Snacking veggies like radishes, carrots, and sliced bell peppers are magic. They're the only snack that actually make me feel full that also has low calorie counts. I don't use dips, I just gravitate towards the ones whose taste I like the most plain (notice flavorless celery is not on this list, ha!)

I just realized this past weekend a solution to this: Yes, you have more desires/opportunities to eat overcalorie on the weekend. But at least for me, I also have more free time! I go to the gym in the morning or afternoon. Or if there's not enough time for that, I at least get my heart pumping with a fast run around my…

I just now read that sabotage thread. Wow. Yeah, I'm a different poster. Um...I would never ever call this trend sabotage, because sabotage means there is intention to do others harm. I'm not an idiot, I know these are put out as a nice gesture, and emotionally, I do appreciate it. In case you couldn't tell, I was kidding…

This post was mostly a joke, I am super-aware that what I eat is 100% my responsibility. That being said... think of it this way. If your coworkers weren't eating the junk food you brought in, they would probably be going to the vending machines or a store for some junk?

I never said it was anyone else's responsibility to keep me on track. Not at all. The annoying thing is my old tendency to give into temptation, if we want to actually analyze it. In a joking way, I can blame it on the pastries and call them annoying or call them poison- but it's not the fault of the inanimate lumps of…
