Just sharing my shame-chart - quite the peaks and valleys- can this time really be different?
I am so embarassed by this. I would never share this chart on a normal social media site. I keep on forgetting about/ getting annoyed with CICO. Whenever that happens, I gain weight with the speed of a rocket ship taking off. Then, I remember it again - and start doing CICO again. And slowly lose weight. I find it…

Martial Arts Training - Maintenance for the foreseeable future?
Hello, I have been doing martial arts training since late November. It's been great so far, it's really been building my confidence, my balance, my coordination, and most relevant for this board, my strength. The exercises we do include body-weight-utilizing strength building exercises such as traditional squat-like…

What were you taught in school about healthy eating, calories, and eating disorders?
I was just thinking today about how many people struggle with being overweight, and how many people it seems don't know where to even start with a plan to lose the weight. It got me thinking about how I learned everything I know about nutrition and calorie counting. I learned most of it online. Because of my own interest…

Just curious, do you think the calorie counts for exercise take your body weight into account?
I know that everyone says these are just estimates and to not take them as gospel truth. I don't. I don't eat all the calories MFP tells me I burned, back. First time I've actually... lost... consistently and healthily.
Hello, I've had MFP for a while, but I usually pretended that I was OK with "just maintaining". Then, a loss in the family this past winter put me over my personal preferred weight limit, and this February, I started actually trying to lose weight for the first time in my life, using MFP, calorie counting, walking a lot as…

Spice is Nice
Tracking calories has made me really realize how magical spices are. If you're using straight herbs and spices, not pre-made mixes or 'seasoning's, they add practically no calories, no salt, and TONS of flavor. I personally like hot spices - which is a lucky thing, because sri racha or tobasco put on a wrap is just as…

Too bad all those free, pretty-looking donuts in the rec room are made of 100% poison.
I mean I am sure they would taste delicious, if only they weren't made with 100% ricin flour. That's why I can't even think of touching them. (Free treats at work, especially this time of the year, are SO annoying! I don't buy junk food at the grocery store anymore but it somehow still rears its ugly head!)
