A March 2014 half-marathon is totally doable! Depending on the race you register for, they might have a race plan included on the website. If not, there are a bunch of run training apps available for smart phones. (I followed the RunKeeper 1/2 Marathon training, and it worked well for me.) Good luck in training.

I used C25K to get back into running after my youngest son was born, and absolutely loved it! Go for the program. If you need a cheerleader, feel free to add me! :)

Quick Oatmeal with Steel Cut Oats and Unsweetened Applesauce. So filling and yummy! :)

Brooks' Ravenna 3. (Getting a pair of Ghost 6's for Christmas!)

I'm an hourglass. My fitness routine includes running and yoga, and some strength training. (I want to improve my running so I go for low weights and high reps.) I don't think there are any exercises out there specifically for a particular body type.

I went through the same thing when I was in college. It put a hurting on my waistline - and budget. I started packing a lunch on the days that I worked, and it was so much easier to make good food choices! (Of course it didn't help when Cinnabon was right across from where I worked, and they brought us free rolls!!)

I'm in the same boat you're in with the craving for soda (Diet Dr. Pepper, for me). I've started having a cup of green tea (Twining's of London Green Tea) when the craving strikes and it seems to do the trick. I'm sure there are some cold green teas out there, but I've had success with the hot tea. Good luck! :)

I agree with your assessment 110%! I know that if I listen to a podcast (or any spoken words) during my runs/workouts, my performance isn't nearly as good as with rousing music.

Roasted pepper hummus. Yum!

Snickers! :)

It's a combination of no common sense and sheer laziness on the part of "responsible adults." My ex-husband was a victim of this, and I have no intention of subjecting my children to this!

I'm in the same boat. I just tuck some baby wipes in my bag, and give myself a once over with them when I get back to the office. Of course, some body spray in your favorite scent wouldn't go amiss! Best of luck!!:flowerforyou:

Just finished my Week 7 - Day 1 workout. A month ago, I would have called you crazy for telling me I could run for a solid 25 minutes. Today? Yes, it's a challenge, but it's a great feeling afterwards looking at all you have accomplished! Good on you for wanting to start something new. Good luck!!:flowerforyou:

TaeBo and Billy Blanks!! I started doing that after I had my youngest son, and I could pick up and do it when I had a chance. It was an easy way to squeeze in the workout when I had the time.

Working out in the morning works the best for me. It gets my butt out of bed, and the endorphins kicking. It also gets me alert and ready to handle my 2 boys when they wake up. If I'm feeling sluggy in the afternoon, I'll lunch at my desk and then head out to the gym for a workout. Keeps me going for the rest of the day.
