If I was having a serious craving for McDonald's, I'd go have McDonald's. I know what I can accommodate from their menu into my calories.

Personally I'm a David's Tea fan. I have a cup or two of coffee in the morning, then tea as I feel like it during the rest of the day. The nice thing about David's Tea is you can walk in and ask for very small amounts. I frequently will go in with a list of several teas, get only 20g of each, and slowly try them all.

I really enjoyed the story aspect to Zombies. I started it last August when I decided to take up running. But by the end, I still couldn't run a full 20 minutes without having to stop and walk. I stopped running over the winter when the sidewalks froze over, and decided to try C25K instead to get back into it when it was…

Toaster oven/countertop convection oven. I use it all the time for those little things you don't want to crank up the big oven for.

Pan fry a piece of fish or other meat you like, and steam some fresh vegetables in the microwave or roast them in a little olive oil. So quick and easy. Or cook your meat and vegetables together on an indoor grill. Crockpot recipes can be very simple and great for leftovers. Put it on before work, and come home to dinner…

The "puppy" in my profile pic is 14 now, too, and we also cherish every moment we can with him. We thought a couple of weeks ago that it might have been the beginning of the end, but it was just a bad couple of days. It will be very hard to say goodbye to him and I dread that day. We didn't have children, just a dog who's…

I just recently turned 42, and it's been a long weight loss journey. When I was 39, at 213lbs, and completely miserable, I promised myself to lose 40 by 40. I didn't get to that goal, but I had a good start on it. I have lost that initial 40lbs, now I just need to lose that next 15 that would put me finally into the…

I get bad salty/crunchy cravings, and I really, really want to go buy a bag of salt and vinegar chips right now. Family size. And I'm not sharing. Before I was diagnosed with my iron deficiency, I had bad fatigue spells with my PMS. It's not so bad now that I've been supplementing, but the energy drop is still very…

We have a Nespresso machine for making espressos, Americanos, lattes, etc. Otherwise it's my good old Keurig for my workday morning coffee with a shot of flavoured SF syrup.

“Comparison is the thief of joy.” ― Theodore Roosevelt If you're happy with yourself, who cares what everyone else weighs. Don't ask, don't talk about it, just be happy if you like what you see in the mirror. I've always weighed more than I look, so the numbers on the scale are only meaningful to me.

Lamb Shank and Pearl Barley soup. I found it in a Taste magazine (BC Liquor Stores) a few/several years ago. It's a bit of work and a lot of chopping, but the result is so worth it.

Sodastream diet syrups are made with Splenda, or the non diet versions are half sugar, half Splenda.

I've become a huge fan of the Trader Joe's Chocolate Lovers 85%. I pick up several bars every time we go to the US. Otherwise, it's usually the Lindt 85%.

It was worth it just to not have to deal with empty pop cans and carbonated water bottles anymore.

Old Navy, TJ Maxx or Ross, thrift/consignment stores. I've had really good luck with Calvin Klein jeans from Costco, too.

This drives me crazy. And then hubby takes over pushing the cart for a while to let me cool off before I start ramming people. lol Costco... always amazing how a trip for toilet paper and dog food turns into a $200 stop.

Thanks for sharing! That does look delicious!

I love those salads! Just had one for lunch today. And I would assume it includes the dressing and toppings in the calorie count, as they have to have it listed somehow. The vegetable mix wouldn't be nearly that high in calories by itself.

Eight weeks is probably enough time to drop a dress size at least, and get you on the way in a healthy manner to whatever goal you set for yourself. But I would say book an appointment to get your hair and makeup professionally done. Find a dress that fits you properly and makes you feel beautiful in it. Buy/beg/borrow…

Somewhere in one of these multitudes of diet soda threads I saw it posted that Diet Coke has about the equivalent amount of sodium as tap water does. I just compare it to my little one-shot can of V8 on my desk that has 450mg of sodium in a 163ml serving. Now THAT is a lot of sodium.

I put an extra strong brew through the Aeropress, stick it in the fridge for a while to cool, then pour it over a cup of ice. I usually add milk and flavoured SF syrup to make it an extra delicious treat. I do have the special iced coffee K-Cups, but it's not nearly as good as using the Aeropress.

I go for the 85% dark chocolate when I'm needing a hit.

I love running outside in the morning, but I live in a safe neighbourhood. Cars are the biggest worry, so I just make sure I'm paying attention to them. When it's full on dark, I stick close to home and avoid the park and the trails more because I'm worried about an encounter with a bear or a tree root than anything else.…

I use Splenda in my coffee every day. I've tried Stevia, but it has a strong aftertaste that I really don't like.

Ice cream - so many calories for such a small serving, and I'm not a big ice cream eater anyway. Cream sauces - Have never liked these, not wasting what could be enormous calories eating it. Chips - because I have no self control and that family sized bag is going down. Cheap bakery anything, specialty coffee drinks and…

I was being cheeky that as soon as I put syrup in the water, the water completely ceases to exist. I guess it sounded better in my head than on paper. lol

My scale is sync'd to the site, so every time I step on the scale, it automatically records it.

You should see the awesome magical special effects that happen when I turn water into Cola with my SodaStream. Poof! All that water is now gone!

It's called caring for your partner. My husband works longer hours than I do, then comes home and works some more, to have a better life for us. Making sure he has a warm supper to come home to is how I say that I appreciate what he does. Suddenly telling him he can either eat the food he doesn't like or fend for himself…

I kept trying to make kale chips because they're supposedly so healthy and delicious. I figured they tasted awful because I was doing something wrong such as over cooking them. Last time I made them they were perfect coming out of the oven, and nope. Still tasted bitter. Even tried a salt and vinegar variation, and I'm a…
