  • It looks like my plateau was fairly temporary this time, thank goodness... being on a diet really constipates me apparently. o_O My apologies if that's TMI.
  • Well, I'm glad I'm helping motivate. :-) Go team!
  • Well, you could always try breaking a piece in half, or only eating the cheesy part and not the bread... I'm actually very picky when it comes to pizza, there's many toppings I can't stand. I do like cheese though...
  • Keep it up! :-) I had a bit of a setback over the weekend; dad won a basket of chocolate at work and brought it home. It seems like chocolate is the one thing that really breaks my diet, with a significant shift in my weight trend. I gained a pound, but at least all the good chocolate is gone now. :P
  • Good luck!! And of course you can join.
  • So far I've been at 159.x for three days, but I'm waiting a full week to make sure. This is so exciting!
  • I actually gave up on exercising strenuously every single day after the first month of dieting. I did hit a plateau in my third month, but that was partly due to a rampant craving for chocolate that wouldn't stop. I think that's calmed down now. I'm currently trying out a new exercise that's not as hard on my knees as…
  • You're welcome! And congrats on everyone's progress! :D I'm at 160.8 so far, my eyes bugged out when I saw that on the scale. So close to the halfway point!
  • Thanks!! :) And congrats on making it past the halfway point in the 170s! I had the same reaction when it happened to me. Here's the 160s thread: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/172350-walking-off-the-160s-club
  • I'm at 161.2... so close to the 150s! It's been fluctuating a bit the past week. Sorry for posting in the wrong thread, the other thread only had me in it and that's no fun. ;-)
  • As long as you don't let a binge day turn into a binge week you'll be fine. :-) Keep plugging away! I had a week in which I couldn't stop eating chocolate but thankfully I managed to recover from that, and all it did was make me plateau because I did my best to keep it under control.
  • It looks like there's just two people in this club. :P Anyways, I'm able to lose weight again and am getting pretty close to 160. Here's hoping! :D
  • I'm glad you're making progress!!
  • I'm currently stuck at 165. Admittedly, I did take a break from stair exercising for a couple months, so I decided to start that up again on a daily basis. I'm guessing my metabolism slowed down to match my calorie intake.
  • Ah, okay. Not logging food would make it much harder to lose weight, unless you're fully aware of how many calories are in everything you eat. I didn't realize how many calories some seemingly innocent foods had until I looked them up in here. I had a rough few days, my calories went through the roof. I really have to…
  • Good luck!! Maybe it's time to try a different tactic. Also, I can't see most of your food entries because it seems like you never press the "complete this entry" button at the end of each day.
  • I'm wondering if maybe my habit of keeping the heat vent closed in my bedroom causes me to burn more calories to stay warm. It would explain the discrepancy. I just don't like how the heat in our house is either high or off. I generally rely on ambient heat in my bedroom.
  • Maybe I should consider increasing the goal calories for the day, just a tad. According to another site (which uses the Mifflin formula) 1320 calories a day with my stats is considered "extreme weight loss". 2007 calories a day would maintain my current weight. After the first two weeks, I've been consistently losing 2.5…
  • I'm allergic to tree nuts, so those are right out. Peanut butter is safe though. If you look at my food diary (which is public) I do eat breakfast, lunch, a small snack after lunch usually, supper, and then if I have any calories left I need to eat I have snacks every two hours after supper until I meet 1200. I'm certainly…
  • My fastest time in the mile was 8:23 back in middle school, keeping in mind that my asthma was moderate at the time. Most of the time in gym I was lucky if I could get under 10 minutes for the mile (in fact, I think they required that for some stupid reason). This was on non-level pavement, since our middle school didn't…
  • Bump! Also, I weigh 164 pounds now. :D I don't expect that to last long, I might hit a plateau soon. I think it's caused by the stress of checking out and putting down an offer on a new home.
  • Heh, speaking of which, if I truly gave myself a cheat day that would be a Bad Idea. Back when I was really overweight and living on my own, I had a habit of doing stuff like eating an entire package of Oreos for one meal. Not those "individual sized" packages either.
  • I've actually been *really* good at staying around 1200 calories every day, surprisingly. I generally make sure that I have a light breakfast and lunch every day, and then a moderate sized dinner. If I have any calories left I can eat, then I have a little something extra a couple hours after supper. Occasionally, I will…
  • This is The Hacker's Diet: http://www.fourmilab.ch/hackdiet/e4/ As suomaf said, it is free and it also happens to be an enjoyable read. Feel free to skim a bit over the chapter or two that covers how to do what MyFitnessPal already does, though. ;-) I would *love* to see the weighted moving average chart in MFP; I tried it…
  • I don't schedule a cheat day, because I already have my profile set up to lose the maximum amount of weight. That way if I'm ever off by 100-200 calories or so, it's not a big deal because I'm still under the basal metabolic rate. Sometimes your body needs that extra bit of calories. Just be careful not to eat 2200…
  • Never mind! Finally got out of that plateau. :D
  • I'm currently stuck around 168 but I think that's because I took a break from exercising. Gotta get back to that soon! Part of the reason for the break was wisdom teeth removal.
