The headaches are one of the reasons I avoid coffee. I usually drink decaf, and only give in to my Island Coconut flavor that doesn't come as decaf. What worked for me is slowly cutting down - one by one. Every week try to drink less of it and your body will adjust. It will take time but it will happen (just like your…

Please double check those items. I found nutritional info online for Athenos strawberry and it has 14g of carbs, 10 of which are sugar.

Good for you but consider just the classic program, instead of lean - I heard that it actually worked better. You need the muscle to improve your metabolism and you'll love how your body will develop an athletic look. I'm on week 7 and I love it. This is the first time in my life that I can do a real push-up. Keep eating…

I forgot to mention: she suggested to me to try to eat a large spoon of cottage cheese - even one spoon should be sufficient to satisfy the insulin production.

I don't eat after 6 because if I do, I feel sick, can't sleep, and have nightmares. However, when I met with a nutritionist, she actually told me it was bad. She sad that you must eat at least every 4 hours. Otherwise, you are prone to developing insulin problems that may later cause diabetes. She actually had me tested…

I grew up with Nutella :) Try this for dessert: cut a wedge into a banana - the long way - and fill it with nutella. Put it into the oven for a few minutes until the banana is warm and nutella metls. Serve with fat free whipped cream - delicious!

Thanks for the info. It's good to know. I will start cutting back a little and see what happens!

That's a lot of great information, guys. What I've been doing is trying to drink 8 cups at work (before 4 p.m.) and a large (10 oz?) cup of coffee - recently eliminated. Then, I drink a cup of Coke Zero with dinner and then 3 cups after exercise - I do p90x. I try drinking early during the day because if I drink late, I…

THAT IS UNBELIEVABLE!!!!! WAY TO GO!!!!

I'm sorry but I can't help much with the recipes. Most of my cooking doesn't involve recipes. I did want to say, though, that you make a valid point of trying to feed your family healthier. Your kids will benefit from getting used to some healthy habits that they will carry through the rest of their lives - something I…

I agree. You will be burning a lot of calories!!! My suggestion, eat whatever they eat - just keep the portion size in mind. Nutrisystem, frozen meals, and other programs like that are not great because they're super healthy, it's the portion control that does it.

Wow, great info and advice, WideMomDVM. I hope I will adjust because it is driving me crazy. Aclark6818 - I don't have an assistant available, well, I do, one period per week :) 17 days left, here :) But summer will be busy, too.

Thanks for a prompt response. Let me ask another thing then: if it's decaf, do I technically have to "make up" the coffee with additional water? You know, when they say for every cup of coffee you drink, you should drink an additional cup of water to replace the lost hydration. Do you have to do it for decaf, too?

You're a great writer, and I know tons about writing - I taught it for a few years and I have to score our district's essays every month. Your tone and voice are amazing! Keep writing - it was REALLY funny! The flow is great, too!

I would count this as a higher activity level, too. When I met with a nutritionist, she told me that the toughest part for her is working with farmers. Even though they burn tons of calories, she still needs to tell them to keep a strict diet and exercise. Supposedly they laugh in her face when she tells them to work out…

Sounds like a great party, though.... I've had similar ones :)

According to my Mexican husband, that would be called a guacamole :) Avocado+tomato+onion+cilantro=guacamole :) BTW, my very favorite is Fiber Plus Coconut Fudge Granola bar. 140 calories, tons of fiber, and tastes better than any cookie I've had!!!!

Thanks for your response.

I love p90x and I'm 83 lbs overweight!!!! Yes, the first week you can't do much, but you quickly build up your shape. At the beginning I could do maybe 8 push-ups on my knees. Now - week 6 - I can "almost" do a standard push-up - I just need to go another few inches lower. Very soon I know I'll do a full one - can't wait…

That's interesting, nreezymom81, I didn't know that. What's the solution. Will it go away on its own or is there something I should do?

It's tricky. A friend of mine lost 30 lbs a few years ago staying on a diet and mowing her 2 acres lawn EVERY day with a push mower. On the other hand, last Saturday, I cut and removed 5 trees, cut them for fire wood and stacked it on a pile, shlepped all the branches away, raked an entire acre of lawn. It took me 6 hours…

I have a similar situation. I have maintained my 230 lbs weight for the last two years eating less than 1800 calories a day. My doctor told me also that I had an enlarged thyroid but supposedly the tests he did came back normal. I consulted a wellness specialist who said this is not possible - if it's enlarged, there's a…

I found something that made a REAL difference for me. 100% whey protein drinks. I visited a wellness doctor and she was the one who told me to stop focusing on fiber so much and eather focus on eating more protein. Protein will help you with building lean muscle but also keep you full longer. I used to eat high fiber foods…

Good question. We are removing about 30 trees in the yard. Every Saturday and Sunday I spend up to 6 hours cutting and moving limbs, branches, raking, digging... but on the other hand, my heart rate doesn't go up that much doing that - so, really, do you burn much more comparing to other activities I wouldn't log in. Not…

I started p90x being totally out of shape. The first few weeks I could maybe do 50% of the workouts. Quite frankly, the very first time I did yoga, I had to stop after 10 minutes due to SEVERE chest pain! Now I participate fully in most workouts. I still can't do the entire Ab Ripper X and I can't do regular push-ups but…

I don't have those cravings late in the evening - I have them when I come home from work :) If I eat late (after 6 p.m.) I have bad nightmares and don't sleep well, that really keeps me away from foods in the evening. The idea of a bad night is awful. Try exercising. I never feel like eating after exercise.

Uuuu, good one, gettinfitmama! I'm totally stealing that idea :)

You need to drink at least 8 cups - you think you would manage to drink 8 cups of diet soda a day? I LOVE coke zero but I only manage 1 can a day - sometimes 2 if I work in my yard or renovate my house (I'm a huge DIYer) a lot. Other than this, I couldn't drink that much. IMO, watch the juices. The same way you have to…

Hi, there was just a topic about that posted by one of the "advanced members?" (sorry, if I'm undermining someone - not sure how the hierarchy looks like here) yesterday on this http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/61706-guide-to-calorie-deficits Supposedly you do have to eat the calories back - I never really paid…

My mom has a similar problem. She is small and thin (120 lbs before she had us). My sister was a huge baby - 12.5 lbs. My mom gave a natural birth. It's now 28 years later and the stretch marks are still there - very pale but visible. She also has a skin flap that just hangs low. Her doctor offered her a few times to…
