Here's one more comment on the eating MORE to LOSE weight. Think of your body's metabolism like a fire. If you don't put enough fuel on the fire and good wood, it doesn't stay lit or burn well. If you don't put good foods in your body and enough of them, your metabolism slows down - it might even shut off if you're not…

Sometimes it's not just about the calories, but about the content of them and hydration in your body. Especially if you're working in a hot kitchen, be sure you're drinking plenty of water. Someone told me once to drink at least half your body weight in ounces - so I weigh 220 lbs and drink more than 100oz (13 cups) of…

I've heard that if you're not putting in enough calories and exercising, you may actually GAIN weight. Your body will go into starvation mode, slowing down your weight loss and holding onto all those calories. At least eat your set calories each day and don't go under that 1200 calorie mark. If you're set at 1500 cals/day…

I've used Herbalife products since February. I really feel like I have more energy and feel GREAT! The ease of meal replacements has helped me stay focused. Lots of people think it's an easy way out - losing weight is never easy; Herbalife makes it simpler. I still need to count my calories, eat good snacks and a…

Those sound SOOOOO delish! I am a carrot cake fanatic and this just might be my fix! Thanks for the post.

I don't think it would be rude at all to suggest the do a little more eating. I don't think people understand that you need to put fuel in the fire to get it to burn. If they're not eating, then they are literally starving and their metabolism will slow right down to ZIP! There's probably a nice little article out there…

I am ALWAYS over on my fiber and agree that MFP has it set too low. By the time you eat a few servings of healthy vegetables, a few whole grains and maybe a protien bar...POOF! You're over. Drink plenty of water and as long as your balancing other nutrition with it, I think you're A-okay!

YES! It is totally normal. Women retain more water - that's swelling and puffiness all over is just that - fluid and more fluid! Drink lots of water and it will pass...and so will IT! :0)

Hello, Isis! Best of luck to you!! I've been changing my eating habits and logging in for a few weeks now. This is a great site. Tracking what I'm putting down the hatch is helping me to button down the hatch and choose calories more wisely. You're off to a good start by getting started!!

Peanut butter is really high in cals, just like the peanuts themselves. As a peanut butter FREAK, I've got to get mine in every once in a while. I've not really found that any one is any less cals than the other so buy the brand you like and use it sparingly. I like have a toasted mini-bagel (wheat) and a tablespoon of PB…

I'd agree with the fitness pro before me. I've cut cals down to 1200 and not lost much. I'm finding that if I focus on adding good protien varieties, the pounds and inches are coming off. I've basically cut out flour types of products, only whole grains, lean meats, soy and turned on the vegies/fruits in between...THIS…

If you don't do it as a daily practice and thoroughly enjoy it, I say GO FOR IT! I love ice cream and had a heaping 2 scoops of chocolate rocky road at the Mall of America this weekend after a shopping extravaganza! Didn't gain an ounce. Splurge every once in a while and enjoy.

Thanks for the info on the PB powder! I'm having protien shakes for breakfast and it would be a GREAT addition...mmmm.

I am a peanut butter FREAK! Where did you find the powder? Is there a online store I can purchase it from? I'm using Herbalife shakes and could add some in my breakfasts. Mmmm...
