Totally agree. Please don't make her conscious of her weight. Just limit the junk food, serve healthy meals at home and get her involved in any sport or dance she loves.

Same thing happens to me if my calories are the same everyday - I do the same and works well for me. I increase my exercise when my calories are high and reduce it when it's low - it's worked for me quite well. Good luck, stay safe! :)

I also can't allow myself a DAY of cheating.. a cheat-MEAL though is something I look forward to once a week! :) It's usually a day or next day after my weigh-in, and is also the day that I bump up the intensity of my exercise in the morning before the cheat meal. I also go crazy on the water after the meal and the next…

That's excellent mate - well done!!!

I eat huge amounts of fibrous veggies too - broccoli and lots of greens, mixed in with carrots and sweet potato, they weigh HEAVY plus add 12-14+ water daily and my weight is HIGH... but once it's "out".. sudden drops are always expected! :)

I was asked last week, in a very serious tone... "You've lost quite a bit of weight, have you been sick?" They'd rather assume I'm dying than getting healthy! hahaha

I'm still recovering from a busted achilles tendon, but will start again in May! :) For now, it's just weights and HIIT elliptical workouts.

Different colored bands usually have different weight. Regardless of the weight of the band, put enough resistance in the band so that your reps are 8-11, struggling in the last 2-3 reps is more important than the weight. As you get stronger, add more resistance or buy a band with more weight. I have an 80lb band that came…

When I used to run, my knees would always hurt - but after about 10mins it would subside. After going to a sports physiotherapist, the problem I found out wasn't in my knees - it was my quads and hips that was causing the knee pain. After a few sessions of deep massage in my thighs and doing these exercises religiously…

Thanks for sharing. SMART goals are good - adding an ER to it would make it even better. From the legendary Tom Venuto... SMART-ER 6. Emotional. Goals give you a direction, but strong emotions are the propulsion system that drives you in that direction. Build up a burning desire by focusing on the emotional reasons why you…

This is such an informative thread, thanks to the OP for sticking around and replying to questions, that's dedication I'm sure your clients praise you on! I'm posting here so I can always come back to this from my profile! :)

There's quite a few of us here - I'm from Sydney! :)

EASY.. don't curb the craving...! Deny a craving and you're a step closer to a BINGE. I haven't drank Pop since NY. Here's what I do - I have 3 huge glasses of water first... then I have my Pop. After all that water - the most I can drink and fit in my stomach is 3 sips from a can, and I'm DONE! :) Good Luck!

EXACTLY what she said. :) My first 2 weeks on MFP - I loved that I COULD have a Big Mac if I chose to. I COULD have a sundae, fries, whatever I wanted as long as it's within my calorie range... I was starving an hour later though. 6 weeks later.. and I don't crave for any junk food - even on cheat days! :)

You've lost 43lb without the HRM - what made you get one now? Whatever you were doing before is obviously working. I don't have an answer unfortunately - but interested to see what others here will say as I'm always curious about the over inflated calories machines and calculators give - keep up the good work!!!
-
Yup, did that and it's still predicting the same weight loss as I was 5 weeks ago. Anyway - I guess it's just a feel good motivational estimate as someone said... MFP still works regardless. :)
-
I just did this and it didn't give me an updated prediction? It just posted it on my wall...

it's an oldie - but this song became quite a big commercial hit in Australia for anything high intensity :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KAv500Q6bfA and for high testosterone workouts... you can't beat Rocky... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WoLVWvqEwzs

HAHA... makes me now wonder how many guys have viewed the profile photos of the posters in here - for scientific purpose as well of course.

thanks for the visuals - HAHAHAHA Let me know which grocery you shop at. LOL

OHH.. good topic!... here's one... An older family friend that I haven't seen in a few years told me... "Whoa...You're really starting to pack on the weight man!" (he didn't mean to be too rude, just stirring me to get a reaction) I paused for second and said with a smirk.. "I'm losing weight actually and will be back in…

very inspiring - thanks for sharing!

I once read I could actually burn MORE calories swimming than running, especially if I'm a novice swimmer? Any truth in this? Running and even dog paddling in a pool sounds a like a great idea, wish there was a way to test how many calories I burn, but my HRM isn't waterproof. There's a gym next to the pool so will do some…

Misery loves company... I'm feeling down today too because I injured myself and can't run... <sigh>

I just found this MAN-thread - finally! Greetings from Sydney Australia! 1. I only get to go the gym once or twice a week - upper body 1 session and lower body in the second. 2. I don't drink anymore - but I do have my cravings for high carb, high fat, high sugar and high protein food. If I know I'm going to eat over my…
