I feel like bread pasta rice potatoes bloat me up, I have dropped that stuff to once a day if at all Mostly. I am still having trouble dropping weight, even though I cut that stuff back significantly.

Ok my final decision is this, I think! Lol I did a work up on scooby site for 3 bf% 31.4 33 and 36 with katch and at moderate I will eat at the lowest of the 3 to start and see where it takes me for a few weeks good idea??

Thanks HeyBales. Sorry to keep bugging you. So take an average of all the different measurement calculator bf%'s? I have gotten anywhere from 36 to 26!! It's really frustrating. I don't know which to use I was hoping the body fat scale would solve that problem. And you think I should do moderately active?

Lifestyle is an at home mom, but I really don't do a whole lot of chasing around and high speed chores. I am pretty lazy outside of my workouts. I have one flight of steps in my house thAt I climb about 5-8 times a day. Also I just got a body fat scale. I haven't weighed myself in about 3 weeks. Good news is I lost 4. 8…

Activity level, I work out 4-5 times a week alternating incline walking with some hiit workouts. But never more than 30 min a day.

Lmao!! For someone who has always hated math I can't believe how much I have been dealing with it over the last week!! So, you are right, if i use an inflated number i will not have much of a deficit. Anyway, scooby says to use mifflin numbers if you are just starting out, katch if you are already lean and muscular. So…

Thank you, I used the average bf% that it gave me. Was that the right idea? Then with katch I got 1603 cals/ day. Then I compared what mifflin and Harris came up with and what was interesting as the cals went up with each other method the weight loss also went up. You would think less cals in more weight lost. Harris gives…

Thanks heybales, I have taken a look at that spreadsheet but I am working on an iPad here and I don't know/ think I can access it on an iPad?? But you think scooby's is more accurate?
-
Thanks, scooby was still higher than katch but was closer so I guess I'll stick with somewhere in the middle of the three of them.

I am starting to get annoyed at fat 2 for site for giving two different bmr's!!!!!!! It took me three days to decide which activity level to choose and now this? I have to figure out which bmr to use
-
I think I will do the katch method with lightly active and -20 for a little bit and see how it goes. I measured myself in the morning before I bloat up from eating to try and get a as true as possible measurement it got me 2% closer to the Harris # but to be on safe side I will do katch. 1529 calories a day, is not much…

I found another bf calculator that takes measurements of wrists and forearm. It's almost 10% less than fat 2 fit. Which should i believe?
-
The Harris Benedict doesn't take into account the bf% that I typed in so I got inflated numbers. Yesterday thought I could eat 200 more calories than I should be eating all because Harris Benedict bmr was 200 more cal than the katch method. I got 1332 bmr mulitplied by 1.375 = 1831 tdee. Minus 20% to lose weight comes to…

It's was very helpful but fat 2 fit gives two bmr's. Harris said 1505 but katch 1332 that is a huge difference. Also Harris said I had 28% bf but I typed in 40% and the match acknowledged that I was at 40% bf I am so confused http://www.fat2fitradio.com/tools/bmr/

Can anyone give me an idea of how my last week looked? I was away in the south for about 4 days so those days aren't perfect but let me know if I am on the right track
-
Thanks everyone. For those who think I am nuts for getting upset, I have been trying to lose weight for about two months now with nothing budging, this weekend my pants finally comfortably. So I guess I don't want to mess up any progress I made. Also we were away this weekend so I didn't eat superbly. I guess I am scared…

I think I am just more comfortable knowing how many cals I am burning per workout right now, while I am just starting out. I don't want to over/underestimate. Once I get used to all of this maybe I will feel more comfortable guesstimating and adding it to my tdee. For now I want to follow sedentary and add cals. Because…

Sorry everyone, another question. My treadmill has heart rate monitor on the handles. You just hold on for a few minutes and it gives you the heart rate, is that ok to use? I guess I could touch them every 5 minutes and do an average?
-
I should rephrase my question. How do I know I am picking the right tdee on my chart? Excersize and activity levels can be somewhat subjective. I am a little lazy when I am not excersizing, meaning I'm not doing hours of vacuuming, mopping and running around my house. But I have to go up and down my stairs several times a…

If treadmill calories are inflated, but I can't afford a HRM right now what do I do?

Great food ideas everyone!! Last night I had chicken fajita over sweet potato and a kind bar with 1% milk for dessert. I had some cheese fish, veggies during the day was still a tad hungry at night.... Still confused about the tdee thing. Is it better to follow 20% less of my sedentary number and then eat back any…
-
I am a little confused, I visited the fat2fit site and got my chart, but what is tdee
-
Neander I visited that link and fat2fit I am a little confused because why isn't the calorie calculator here at mfp good enough. Fat2fit has me eating 1600

I was doing Jillian micheals 30 day shred for 3 weeks 6 days a week and counting cals and lost nothing. Well I have no scale but my pants were still crazy tight, any ideas?
-
Yes I don't want to cut out any one food group because I realize now that I get nowhere that way. I have gained back every time I did low no carb. I want to be able to have a bagel once in a while and a brownie and mashed potatoes but still lose weight.
-
Great ideas everyone!! Thank you. I feel like I can cherry pick from all your advice to try out something I like. Today I tried to balance having things I like in moderation and staying full. Let me know what you think if you feel like looking at my diary.

Thanks everyone for all the ideas! I like the idea of being able to save some cals for dessert. Am going to try baking peaches apples and such with homemade granola until I get my weight down.
