I did both. I did 30DS everyday and I ran every other day. Personally, I didn't feel like 30DS was so tiring/intense that I wasn't able to run the same day.

Thanks for the encouraging words! I do agree that the scale is just a number! I have to keep telling myself that. As long as I feel good about myself and can see a difference I shouldnt care what that number is.

I understand that there is an afterburn when lifting weights, but can it really be compared to the amount of calories burned during cardio? Will someone who does 5 hours of cardio a week burning 800 calories each time have around the same TDEE as someone who only lifts weights 5 hrs a week?

I know I am doing it for myself, which is why I usually continue to do it despite people's comments. I just wish people wouldn't laugh or assume I'm trying to be better than them by eating healthy.

21 yo, and 88-89 lb. I'm aware my weight is low but I am very short and have quite a bit of fat (I'm pretty much the definition of skinny fat). Hence the 2-3 lb. I'm lifting weights as well so I (hopefully) don't lose muscle mass.

I'm wondering if I should raise my calories more since I work out? Is it possible that that could SPEED up weight loss? The calories I stated were gross calories eaten in a day. However I'm worried that raising my calories even more will cause me to start gaining fat back

The problem is I have been maintaining at this level WHILE exercising. I do HIIT cardio about 2-3 times a week and resistance training about 4 times a week. I agree. I am around 4'9.5 and eating at 1200 calories would have me losing about 0.2 pounds a week, which is ridiculously slow.

No my HRM does not have any of my personal stats, it just gives me an avg heart rate that I put into a calculator, which uses my age and weight. But I was thinking the fact that it takes more effort could be why the treadmill calories are lower than what I calculated with my heart rate

My hrm does have a chest strap. But does not calculate calories for me, which is why I use a calculator online. And my treadmill only takes my weight into account. I covered 2.12 miles. The calories I calculated from my HRM just seem crazy high since my entire life ive been used to seeing the number on the treadmill stay in the 100s.
