  • Hi there! I've been TTC for around 14 months. I'm 40, so freaking out about time. I had my first ever positive test last month, but lost the pregnancy at 5.5 weeks. I have polyps that I'll get removed this cycle. Hoping that's the cause, but in the meantime I'm trying to lose at least 10 lbs. Is there a TTC success stories…
  • I make homemade whole milk yogurt and sauerkraut. They are delicious and so healthy! Good digestive flora even supports mental health and mood.
  • I used to have painful joints and could even felt heat radiating from my forearm muscles, and it went away when I returned to a gluten free diet. But apparently I was still a bit inflamed from carbs/sugar!
  • Not a bad point. New England is experiencing such a horrific epidemic of opioid overdoses right now, and I wonder why the doctors who originally over-prescribed the painkillers are not being held responsible.
  • I've been making a chocolate coconut milk ice cream that's really good, it just needs to defrost for a while before you can eat it. I would like to make a dairy one, but without an ice cream maker, I'm hesitant. The coconut recipe is ridiculously easy. Take a can of full fat coconut milk, dump in a blender with a heaping…
  • A multivitamin on an empty stomach will always make me feel ill. I have to wait until after I eat.
  • I've been doing lchf for less than a month, and haven't lost much actual weight, but the changes are remarkable. I have much more energy. I don't feel "down" as much. I have more zest for life. I feel smaller, tighter, less puffy or inflammed. My digestion is generally better, but I'm still working to find the ideal meal…

  • I think you really need an old-fashioned hand mixer for this.
  • I think the key is to really whip the whites until they are like a merengue. I used psyllium as noted, and I subbed baking soda and vinegar for the baking powder, which i did not have. Next time I will try softening the cream cheese more, because that is the one thing that went wrong with mine, yeah. And it was so good…
  • Mine came out perfectly fluffy. No crumbles or anything, which is a nice break from the glut3n free bread I've been eating for years. Slight egg white flavor is a bit off putting but no biggie. Going to try fathead pizza next!
  • Simply incredible!
  • Ooo, I like mysteries. So there's no chance you had a snack or glass of water while sleepwalking? Then maybe water really can be retained through breath. Apparently, when we burn fat cells, the mass gets expelled through our breath. So maybe there's some sort of reverse that can happen.…
  • I've been having the same problem this year, too, for the first time. It made me feel better when a teenie tiny shoe saleslady who runs told me she also gets the problem, though. :) This is what I'm learning: Get fitted at a "real" runner's store for sneakers. They will check your pronation. Avoid flip flops, ballet flats,…
  • I second that using the (iPhone) app is much quicker than using the website. You will only need to type in a few characters and it will pull from recent entries. However, when using the iPhone app, it doesn't seem to pull from entries that you made on the web in the same kind of way.
  • Oh, and also: you will not see any available exercise calories in MFP until you cross a certain threshold of calories burned. Once you burn enough it will show up in MFP.
  • Sometimes I notice a delay for an hour or more, with Fitbit syncing to MFP. Eventually it catches up; I sync my Fitbit with the Fitbit app several times during the day, and eventually Fitbit will send the data to MFP. Only track your food in MFP, don't track it in Fitbit.
  • Trader Joe's has some great shortcuts, if you live near one. FROZEN foods like frozen veggies and frozen brown rice are a big help, not only because they are easy and fast but because you're not going to have food waste from all the fresh produce you can't get around to cooking. Eliminating waste, I think, is a big part of…
  • Same here! In my family, EVERYTHING revolves around food. I'm starting to separate myself from it all.
  • @bri170lb What a terrible story, but a HUGE congrats to you for not only getting healthier, but also getting to the bottom of some deeply buried issues and even facing pushing your old boundaries. Take that control back! I still have this memory of when I was in like third or fourth grade. We were playing kickball and I…
  • In the past, I've always gained weight when re-starting on exercise, particularly with jogging. It's so frustrating that this time around I've been hesitating to increase my workouts beyond walking and dancing--I wanted to wait until I lost at least 10 pounds from calorie restriction alone so I could document some…
  • That's so awful. It's a power thing for *kitten* guys (who have issues themselves) to make themselves feel mighty by belittling women.
  • I'm pretty sure this is a joke/troll question.
  • I'd like to join! Count me in.
  • It had been a long, slow progression of weight gain, with accompanying realizations. Not wanting to wear skirts and dresses because my thighs were uncomfortably rubbing together was a real tipping point, but seeing a new number on the scale--one that approached 190--was the final wake-up call. The worst of my weight gain…
