I have a desk job (8-4:30) but I work-out 3-4 days a week. I do a boot camp 3 days a week and I run or do elliptical on my days off. So what should I set mine as?

I think a lot of people think that HAVE to be under their calories to have a good day. If it is set at 1200 it is NOT good to be under calories for the day (though I am guilty of this as I am trying to eat cleaner but when I get some things eating out I guestimate calories on the foods and would rather eat less than more).

^^^^THIS....if I tell myself I cannot have a favorite food I will not succeed. I just watch my portions. I also make sure I get a really good work-out the day of or the day after. I only have ONE cheat meal a week but I do not eat anywhere near what I used to eat. I usually pick one night on the weekend to have my cheat…

I have walked/ran like 4 5k's in the past and my last one 2 years ago, I ran some and then power-walked in rotations and my time was 34 minutes. I was hoping to at least make it in 30 minutes since I would run the entire time. Oh well...I have plenty more coming up. Thanks everyone!

^^^Not true anymore...school lunches are now healthier than what most parents fix for their kids to take. I see kids who bring their lunch and it is PB&J or other type of sandwiches EVERYDAY. How is that healthier than meat, veggies, salad, and fruit that are offered at school. My kid's school offers two meats to choose…

I felt very sluggish on my last 5k's because I had not worked out beforehand and could not run the entire thing. I have been working out since Jan. 2nd and doing a 6 week boot camp so I feel I am more in shape but not sure exactly what to eat and what not to eat to have the BEST RUN EVER!

I get the pepper steak...it comes with onions and bell pepper. I just eat a little of the fried rice that comes on the side.

I do Boot Camp...mine is mostly strength training with some cardio and then I do a lot of cardio on my off days. I do not like doing strength training so I get it from the Boot Camp. :)

My motto is "If you still look good after a work-out you did not work hard enough!" The worse you look the better work-out you got! :)

I just do cardio everyday and strength training 3 days a week....mix it all together and I think it should balance out!

I like MFP because we all have the same goals and on FB no one wants to hear about what you eat, your weight loss, and exercises....FB only likes drama!

It is not going to hurt you unless you eat it everyday but watch your servings on soup...there are usually 2 servings in a can. If you eat high sodium foods just drink a lot of water with them. I go over my sodium a lot but I am still losing about 1lb a week. :)

You should have a "broil" on your oven dial...it heats from the top but watch very carefully because it is 1 temperature and can burn your food very quickly. :)

My sodium scares me...it gets to the point where I don't meet all my calories because I am afraid of going over on soidum. I work full-time and have two kids who are very active in sports so I rely on a lot of pre-packaged foods. I know I should plan better but it is a lot easier for some people than others....I need to…

I use a HRM with chest strap so I feel my calories burned are pretty accurate. I was losing 2lbs a week before I started any strength training. I have always just done cardio.
