This, too...THAT was an eye opener...LOL

That what works for ONE will work for ALL. It won't. period.
-
that's because a particular diet doesn't work for every person that tries it. all bodies are different. find your calorie goal, log your food, moderate exercise. if you see a loss, great, stay there. if you don't - or it is over 1.5 pounds, move that calorie target up or down. And remember, look at your caloric intake as a…

Great thread...glad no one jumped all over the OP for eating below 1,000 some days. Also, looking at the full week will allow for low and high days instead of beating myself up on Monday for OVER eating and beating myself up on Tuesday for UNDER eating. I had a great loss this week and there were 2 days that due to family…

yes, but it was from my parents...bodybuilders. Opinionated and negative...I finally did it for ME ME ME!! Who cares what anyone else thinks??

Totally the same thing for me. I had essentially stopped logging and weighing and I started eating more than I thought. I have once again, started weighing my food and logging and the "sneak eats" (which happends to be my biggest downfall) went away. I had actually gained TEN pounds and it is starting to come off again.…

GO FOR IT!!!!

Looks awesome, Tomcornhole. I sure hope that is what is happening to me! LOL - I can't get the scales to move, but my pants are getting baggy...

Here's your slap! XOXOXOXO SLOW DOWN, WOMAN! Stop trying to change everything in a day - I know couldn't do it and it sounds like you might not be able to either...this is what worked for me: change one thing this week...do one thing better every day this week change one more thing next week...do THAT one thing every day…

Classical ballet from 3 to 14 - Accepted to American Ballet in New York at 13, gained boobs and about 10 pounds over the summer and was Unaccepted!!!

We marinate it in Kraft Zesty Italian dressing then put it on the charcoal grill for about 5 minutes..

NO right back at you. I, too, have the metabolism of a dead person. I have tried every "eat more" idea there is and all I ever did was maintain or gain. I CANNOT EAT 2,000 or even 1600 calories a day. The first go around I was kick boxing for an hour and a half six days per week...everyone in the program lost tons of…

Oh, that's not good news...I can't imagine weighing 115 and still having a belly. that just doesn't seem fair.

Welcome! keep lurking, that's how you will learn :)

Yep, you are NOT sensitive. Good lord I'm glad I live in the south!

One of the symptoms of low thyroid production is constipation...to combat this, I take 3 magnesium citrate caps every single night at bed time. I get 2 big ole bottles when Vitamin Shoppe has them buy one get one half price. If I don't take them, I don't go - end of story. I have discussed this with my doctor who feels…

LOL are you a racoon??
-
totally...if you aim for lower carb choices - like cut out bread, pasta, suger in your coffee - then you will be in balance without even looking! Focus on protiens and veggies and fruit and nuts and use carby things for "treats". Instant balance.

Fresh blueberries...season just ended here, so I don't know what will be the favorite next. Frozen blueberries are just not right!
-
ohhhhh, ick. (nothing personal- LOL)

if I had the ability to stop eating when I was full, most likely, I would never have weight 220 pounds. What did we do before counting calories?? We ran away from the animals trying to eat us while we got water from the river or chopped down trees for fire wood. Too bad we have electricity and cars and junk.

this^ AND another thing...I wrap all my chocolate in a few layers of plastic wrap then freeze it in the "outside" garage freezer. It does keep it quite fresh, but a side benefit is that I have to actually WORK to get at it. Normally I can talk myself down off the ledge by the time I go thru all THAT mess... NOW - what can…

this^ Calories in Calories out. A body doesn't loose a pound in a day...it looses over the course of a week or 10 days...an average is acceptable if isn't too low. The OP is obviously young and as the mother of a 18 year old I know that one day will not look like the next in the life of a young person. They just have too…

MFP gives the same goal for everyone...It treats all woman the same...1,200, whether you work out daily or none at all. It doesn't calculate anything it just sets ladies at 1,200. I am sure it does the same thing for men...everyone gets 1,700...so if the OP eats 1700 then walks, he will most certainly get the warning! I…

I agree with Diane - you need to open your diary so we can see what you are dealing with...also...height, weight, goals, age. I know when I was trying to cut down too much all I could think about was what I COULDNT eat...once I increased my calories a bit I found I could satisfy the tape worm in my belly with a LOT of…

Practice makes perfect. It was hard for me to "eat what I wanted, just less" at first, but I found that I not only ate the "healthier" choices, but I would also eat the thing I was avoiding as well. I would eat two or 3 times the amount by the end of it all. talk about feeling discouraged! I have finally been convinced…

I don't very often rely on protien shakes, but if i DO, then it is a product called "Harmonized Protien"and only the vanilla...it is geared toward a woman's needs - it doesn't have muscle building additives or soy and i feel that it mixes fairly well with water and one of thoes bottles with the wire blender ball...do you…

Great ideas...I really like the guac idea and looking toward yogurt based dressings. I really crave creamy dressings, and I need to slowly re-train my brain before jumping in to vinegar/lemon based dressings and that sounds like a good way to taper off... thanks all!

YUMMY!

Ok, Bound4...I FINALLY went to this website and good lord it is an eye opener. I have known for years that the "you are not eating enough" statement isn't going to work for me. I have done that type of diet 3 times for an extended period of time - 4 months each - and all I did was gain. This website explains it so…
