3 weeks of eating no sugars/fruit. No carbs (breads, chips, crackers, etc). No starches/gluten/dairy. The first 10-12 days were brutal. But I've found so much more energy. My skin looks so much better. I'm sleeping better at night. Just overall feeling bright and clean.

Yes! That would be great. Been doing my first cleanse for 3 weeks now. Would love the extra support.

First thing - congrats! That's amazing you look very healthy so don't be so hard on yourself. It's hard for me to know what's going on without seeing your diary. Shakes can be high in calories. You have to remember that calories in vs calories out and make sure there's a deficit there. Have you ever tried calculating your…

Awesome! Welcome to MFP!! You are going to do great - logging is one of the biggest parts of the journey so you are well on your way. So many here motivate me when I feel like I'm unmotivated. Keep your focus small and away from big goals - that's what has helped me. I tackled the first 10 pounds, then the next __lbs and…

Was: 168 after having my 4th child Current weight: 138lbs Lost: 30 pounds

One of my favorite things to grab when I want something sweet at night is a chocolate "ice cream". It's one frozen banana, 1-2 tsp of cocoa powder, and 1 tsp of pure vanilla, and 1/4 cup of almond milk. Put it in a food processor and it's like chocolate soft serve ice cream without all the guilt. Works for me every time!…

Soup or salad at Panera. Veggie bowl at Qdoba & Chipoltle. Oatmeal from McDonads (they serve it all day long). Veggie sub from Subway without cheese (I'm allergic to dairy). Those are my go-to places when I have to grab something quickly.

Be careful that you don't cut too many calories as your body will slow down on weight loss. Your body will use your muscle as fuel - defeating the purpose of loosing fat/gaining muscle. I'm 5'6 and 139 pounds. I eat anywhere between 1700-2200 calories a day and still loose weight (I burn 300-800 calories during my…

You can add me! I'm currently training for a half marathon but still strength train 2-3 times a week.

I agree with Sargirl. Keep strength training lifting heavy weights and add cardio a few days a week. It will happen. It's amazing what happens with just one pound weight loss when you strength train. I have a pic included in my profile where I show a one pound loss and how my body changed and became more defined. Focus on…

Hi Julie! What a great motivation to loose weight! I donated my kidney 6 months ago. I remember being on that side of the donation process and had so many questions. If you ever need someone to talk, have any questions, or just need someone to talk about it to, I'd love to help!! ~Kim

I donated my kidney 6 months ago and I do remember them saying to shy away from a high-protein diet. I eat mostly a vegan diet and consume anywhere between 55-80 grams of protein a day. I personally feel like that's enough protein for my body to strengthen my muscles during my workout. I do cardio 4-5 days a week and…

It might be on YouTube. Check there first before buying it. Many of her workouts are free there. I like it but do that one along w others.

I love it there! I strength train there and never feel judged. All types of people, ages, size, etc. I've gotten so much stronger in the last month by lifting there. Lots of equipment. I ended up getting the Black Membership and love it as Incan bring a friend for free every time, free tanning, massage chair, red-light…

I so understand where you guys are at. I dropped a pound or so a week or at least once every two weeks. I got within 5 pounds of my goal and I feel like I see the same numbers on the scale for the last 2 months. With that being said...I am strength training so the scale is NOT my friend. What works for me is to focus on…

Ghiradelli mini-chocolate chips. 130 something chips for 70 calories and they are vegan. ;) Eat them one by one and you'll be eating chocolate for a long time. ????

I didn't have one for a long time...I was trying to go without one. I got some extra cash back from our taxes and decided to try one out. I figure I could always return it if I didn't like it. I really feel like it has helped me reach my goals better. I was amazed how far the gym machines are off when it comes to burning…

I'm on my second Mirena. Had success with both (meaning no pregnancy). I had my first on removed to get pregnant for my 4th son. it took us about 4 months to get pregnant and during those 4 months I didnt have a weight loss. I had it put back in 6 weeks after he was born. I have seen stuff like this but I personally…

For those of you who went from working out in the afternoon/evening hours to an early morning workout schedule, did you notice a difference at all in your energy, appetite, weight loss, strength gain, etc? I recently had a friend suggest that I tweak my workout schedule and go at 5:30am instead of 7pm....thinking that it…

I agree that most every food you have has protein in it. Skeptics (non-vegan people) will be the firs to ask you, "Where do you get your protien from?" and I reply in all the foods I eat. :) I actually supplement with a protein powder (Garden of Live Raw Vegan Protein Powder). But by no means do you have to do this. I just…

I love my vegan lifestyle. As with most things, you can be unhealthy and be vegan. However, I think it's easier to eat healthy vegan. If you tend to over eat or binge, you can over eat on fruits and veggies which have far less calories than let's say ice cream or candy bars. Eating lots of fruits and veggies and whole…

My hubby and I went from eating horribly (processed foods, white sugars and flours, meat, dairy, fast food, etc) to eating clean, vegan, and even eat raw/vegan a lot. We wanted to take the plunge and decided to go "all in or go home." Ha! But I do have lots of friends who have done it the other way. I say do what fits your…

Feel free to add me as well! I am a SAHM of children. Mine are 3, 7, 10, and 12. Love the network of friends I've made on MFP - it's so encouraging to know we are all on this same journey together! :flowerforyou:

Age: 35 SW: 168 CW: 138 GW: 135 I started eating a vegan diet 1/2/2012 (just over a year ago) and have lost a total of 30 pounds. I have 4 kids and even tho I'm trying to loose those last few pounds, I'm really focusing on toning and tightening up my body (particularly stomach, legs, butt, and arms...which is pretty much…

I am not doing that program and I'm no expert...but I would ask how do you feel? Are you sluggish? Do you have low energy? Are you tired? Is your hair falling out? Some of these thing can be side-effects from not getting enough protein. I've been lifting weights and getting results but I'm def not shooting for body…

Might have to make this tomorrow for V-day as a little extra indulgence. Thanks azalea617 for the recipe....I think. Ha!! :) ~Kim

I tend to be more like 65/17/25. Sometimes I have less carbs (never really under 55%) but I say I average right around there. I shoot to get between 55-60 grams of protein a day...that is what works well for my body but everyone is different. If it helps, feel free to "friend" me as my food diary is open for my friends to…
