I'm on kind of on moderate, although in reality i use my fitbit to decide how active i am and do the 15% cut from what it says my average TDEE is. I've recently upped my exercise and the distance i'm running so this is really only what i've been doing lately. But my week looks something like: Mon: NROLFW Tue: Cycling…

I think maybe you should not be counting calories. Clearly the 1200 number has become a big deal to you. And i'd go see a psychologist/help group and a nutritionist. Get a nutritionist to write you an eating plan for you and not tell you the calories in it. And stick to it! And if you are feeling too full from all the…

The light exercise value for your TDEE is for your week on average. So the idea is to eat the same TDEE -15% every day even on rest days. If you eat sedentary on your day off then you'll have a bigger deficit than 15%. Just make sure that light exercise TDEE is appropriate for the amount of activity you truly do.

Above is my Facebook album of pictures of it. At my workplace we use a lot of total stations so just whipped one out to project the sun onto a piece of…

Yep. As far as i can tell there is no fix for us South Australians. It isn't a big deal though is it? I just always make sure i log a workout on my Fitbit AND my heart rate monitor so that when i'm putting in my HRM result into MFP and i have put in the start time, i can check the fitbit website and make sure it is right.…

i once saw this on a mexican travel cooking show and i now make it all the time. Bake some sweet peppers (capsicums) in a hot oven until the skin blisters (one per person). Then peal off the skin and get rid of the seeds while leaving it as intact as possible. Then stuff them with your favourite refried bean recipe. Mine…

Do you mean TDEE not BMR? I know what my BMR is already as it is determined by my height and weight, not by exercise. TDEE is exercise+daily movement+BMR. Sorry just trying to work out if i understood you. Good idea about estimating the rest of the evening's calories. I could easily do that too.

Each level gets longer. Apparently the last levels can even go for 90mins or so including the intervals. But for these shorter ones i've tended to do them pretty quickly (not always waiting for the whole break, but sometimes having more of a break as it takes so long to change the weights around for the next exercise) but…

i have one and love mine. I still use a HRM though. But i think it is a wonderful tool for calculating your TDEE. It is more for the everyday activity stuff and is fine for running/walking as well. I also use it to track my volleyball. But for weights, cycling etc i always wear my HRM and log it in MFP. But then fitbit is…

Thanks for this! This is exactly what i'm going through right now. I wasn't too committed to exercise until recently. Now i've been consistently working out 6 days a week for a couple of weeks and i've gained about 2kg. I wasn't overly perturbed, except was a bit tempted to eat less than i should (and probably did some…

i always realised BMR is higher than TDEE. But it did surprise me how much more calories i burnt without doing any exercise. I also was 'dumbing' it down so that i could make myself really clear. :) My fitbit is actually set to personalised. But i'd like to eat the same number of cals each day, workout day or not. If it…

Try a health food store. But many grocery stores have it too in the tea section.

i swear by drinking dandelion tea to get rid of bloating.

You could do what i do and make a rule that you'll only eat bread or cake, pasta etc if you have made it yourself FROM SCRATCH. That keeps me eating less of the stuff and it is a bit of time and effort to make. Homemade tastes so much better too and obviously no chemical preservatives etc. Carrot cake isn't necessarily…

have you checked your stride calibration? Not sure if that might cause it but perhaps...?

No need, just go out and catch some sunlight! Vitamin D is the only vitamin our bodies can actually produce ourselves from the sun! This is seriously not necessarily a bad suggestion (increasing vitamin D levels). Perhaps exercising outside with some sunscreen on might be good to try. Or eat your lunch outside once in a…

i don't think the MFP database is good on potassium. as in a lot of foods in their database don't bother to list it so you think overall you are low. So you may already be fine. Bananas and grapes are good sources.

when i started using a barbell i just put on my bike riding gloves. They are fingerless ones. Feels good to me..

i am. I consider the total cals burned in the day according to my fitbit my TDEE. Got to be more accurate than any calculator where you just guess how active you are. Mine said i was more active than just sedentary which is was i thought i was. i have an office job but when i get home i tend to do a lot of housework and…

I'm a true believer that if you can work out what the texture or taste is of something you don't like, it is very easy to work out a way to cook it so you do like it. My BF doesn't like eggplant but i grew kilos and kilos of it this summer. We eat it almost every day and i find a way to cook it so he likes it. A big thing…

I'm going to make this: http://www.publicradio.org/columns/splendid-table/recipes/chicken_breasts_stuffed_with_figs_prosciutto_and_gorgonzola.html tonight. I don't want to buy any special ingredients to do it though, so i'm going to substitute some low fat fetta for the gorgonzola and weight watchers bacon for the…

i think i once heard something that says that at this time the cravings are probably due to some kind of mineral deficiency for something that is chocolate. Can't remember what it was specifically... Don't think it was iron. Maybe magnesium or something? Maybe if you took multivitamins you might not get the cravings then?…

Fresh egg pasta with some kind of vegetable based sauce with a bit of parmesan and pumpkin in it.

Definitely paperback. I had the kindle one, but it was too irritating to use. Difficult to flip back and forth from the list of exercise to the pictures of the actual exercises. So i ended up buying the paperback as well!
