I get multigrain oats from woolworths. They have 2 brands there an Uncle Toby's one and some other one with barley as well. These I find these great and they do have way more goodness than plain old rolled oats.

If you are going to use it alot you might want to consider getting an exercise bike. Those trainer things wear down your bike tires. Exercise bikes are also alot more stable.

Yes.. Very dark chocolate, just a few pieces is great for this. I have Green and Black's Maya chocolate (which has a bit of orange in it). 6 pieces is about 100 calories. I wouldn't want to eat any more either as it is so rich! you'll find sugar cravings go away eventually as you eat less refined sugar foods over time.

i stick protein powder in my green smoothies. So then there is a serving of veggies a well. Common recipes i use include: 1 cup spinach or cos lettuce ice cubes cup of water A combo of banana, kiwi fruit, manage, strawberries, raspberries, etc. Basically whatever is in season natural unflavoured protein powder whiz up and…

your stomach is definitely flatter! Looking great. You are probably just slowing down as you look like you are pretty good shape right now.

Definitely the way to go. If you have a food processor you can actually make your own too. Just keep blending up nuts until they turn into a paste. if it is too thick add some olive oil. Of course none of these are going to be low in calories or fat. But the aim is for it to be a healthy polyunsaturated fat.

i agree with meerkat70. Go for your HRM reading everytime. It is the only device that has both special information particular to your body AND measuring how your body is responding to exercise in real-time. Don't bother with any other calculations if you have a HRM - you can't get any better than that.

i think your own questions should give you the answer: don't waste your money on shakeology. Make your own shake with whatever ingredients you've worked out is optimum or buy another brand you've worked out is ok. I'm sure you are paying extra for the fact is is branded by beach body than something else that doesn't have…

i am absolutely addicted to sweet potato chips and eat them at least once a week! I tend to just sprinkle them with a bit of salt and serve them with different sauces. My favourites are low fat mayo with sweet chilli mixed in and usually also some dried rosemary mixed in (rosemary is also good sprinkled on the chips, but…

i found this: http://www.nhmrc.gov.au/guidelines/publications/n35-n36-n37 in case anyone in Australia is interested. i think it probably answers my own question.

pumpkin seeds! They add up in calories so quickly. Nice alternative to nuts and you can do lots of things with them such as sprinkle them in a salad, bake them into some kind of muffin or just eat them straight. Drink full fat milk. If you need the calories, there is no reason why you shouldn't. Same with full fat yoghurt.…

it seems to me there are 2 ways of doing it and you are already doing one. Either have 3 big meals in the day that add up to your calorie goal. Or 5-6 small meals spreading out the calories in the day. Oh and i've heard of the option of having the biggest meal being breakfast, and then gradually decreasing the number of…

i can't afford the gym so bought myself the 30DS dvd (jillian michaels), some hand weights and a yoga mat. Cost a fraction of gym membership and you will see from various message boards on here the results of some people who use it are fantastic.

Cooking only changes the calories if you add things like oil to it. If you only cook it in water it won't change. So just find out how many calories are in the packet. Then work out what percentage of the whole packet you are using (regardless of how many cups this equals etc) and there you go. that is how many calories…

Yes i agree with what the the person above said. Alternatively you could wear your HRM for a whole day to get a better idea of how many calories you burn in a day. Then you need to calculate your deficit from that. I'm not sure though cooking would be the same kind of activity level as say building or gardening though. So…

Do what is right for you. As an ex-vegetarian i can say, one thing you are probably only just now experiencing on this forum is the reaction of current vegetarians to your decision to change. Vegetarianism has a bit of a culture attached to it with many subcultures within it. There is a lot of propaganda about the…

I'm not sure how well it stands up scientifically (although the author claims to have studied biochemistry and it's relationship to weightloss), but there is generally a very convincing discussion of this in the book 'The Gabriel Method' by Jon Gabriel. He says that stress causes chemical changes in the body (yes we do…

If your profile pics are of you right now. Then you are probably too skinny already. This is not a website supporting anorexia.

I was vegetarian for 10 years. I got sick a lot. I wasn't necessarily all that focused though on having a balanced diet back then. it just started as a teenage fad that just went on for a bit too long. i eventually couldn't really remember the reason i was vegetarian any more. I think it had started out from a compassion…

Oh by the way you appear to have 40 kg as your goal weight. If this is, please go to a doctor. You will hurt yourself. Skinny isn't worth ruining your life for.
-
How tall are you? If you are 60kg there is a really good chance your BMI is already in the healthy range and that if you lose any more you will be unhealthy. I think you need to a lot of research to understand what is a healthy lifestyle. There is a lot of crap on these forums, and a lot of good advice as well. But if you…

Instead of cordial try drinking water with a bit of lemon juice (or pieces of lemon) in it. It will help you gradually get used to water. Or if you really have to you could find a fake sugar based cordial. These though have been shown to actually increase your hunger though sometime after drinking them, plus artificial…

Many times i've joked that it would almost be possible to create a workout around labor intensive foods. I'm thinking kneading bread or pizza dough, shelling nuts etc. Kneed yourself fit! Unfortunately most of these labour intensive foods tend be be quite high in calories, so they are hardly balanced out. I cook from…

what do you mean odd!? You look wonderful! Definitely go into maintenance mode, you look perfect!

I agree with that. I look forward to when i can buy bras from regular shops and not have to get them from speciality places on the internet.

What equipment do you need for this program?

I'm a PhD student in Archaeology with a BSc in Geology.

Haha. I got confused. I've joined too many groups on here!
