Everyone is going to tell you lean Protein! This definitely works. I usually have a single cold cooked chicken skewer for morning tea everyday. This is a great filler that keep me full until lunch. Chicken breast in general is great and if you poach it is very low in calories for what you get. Other things i find filling:…

I wish they did that. At proper restaurants it is completely impossible to get an accurate idea of calories in something. It is really only possible for chain stores as they info online or in brochures like they do at McDonalds. The way something is cooked massively affects calories. So it might be possible to guess all…

I think you might be better off spreading your meals differently so your breakfast is larger and dinner is smaller. Maybe make your lunch a little larger than your dinner too. All the snacks though sound about right. Having a larger breakfast and lunch gives you energy throughout the day which you need. You don't need a…

I wouldn't as i think it counts as regular activity. Look at this way - if you count it, it might be cheating as at least part of it might be regular activity. If you don't count it and you happen to burn extra calories that day which you aren't tempted to eat back (because it isn't registered with MFP) you'll just loose…

Yeah i've had to ban raisin bread from my house as i too can't stop once i start. In fact i think raisin toast with butter would be my food of choice if i was stuck on a desert island and could only eat one thing for the rest of my life...

Couscous is still made of wheat you realize whereas oats have the lowest GI of any easily available cerial. You'd be much better off eating oats than couscous. Not that couscous is bad. I love the big pearl couscous stuff. Barley is also an excellent low GI high protien cerial like oats and is a great substitute for rice.…

I use Agave as it is very sweet for volume (so less cals overall for the same amount of sweetness as sugar or even honey), but is is also natural. it tastes like honey to me really. i HATE stevia and artificial sweeteners. They taste so metalic to me. i've got more sensitive to it overtime to the point that i can even…

Try this: 2 egg whites 1 rasher of weight watcher's brand bacon diced pepper plus any chopped veggies you'd like such as capsicum, onions, garlic etc. Mix it all up in a bowl first then pour into a fry pan. After a while fold it over in half and cook a little longer. There you go a bacon and egg omelette that is only 69…

If you have that many calories left over because you exercised, then just leave it and don't eat anything (unless you want to). If you didn't exercise today, maybe don't worry about it either. If you do 'swing' calorie consumption you can save the deficit for another day in the week when you find it a bit harder to be…

How funny, i was just going to post this recipe as a separate post and then saw this. i made these last night and they were amazing! just be careful how many you eat as each one as about 100 calories - although everything in them is amazingly good for you. But too much of anything is not good. Raw Brownie Balls - makes 10…

In case there are any more that just didn't log on the day that i posted this - i want to keep this message board listed up the top! :)

Hey i used to live in Canberra too! Hey i just read a really good memoir called: "The Amazing Adventures of Dietgirl" by a woman from Canberra. I particularly liked all the references to cafes i used to go to and places and whatnot there which made it all the more relatable. Anyone might enjoy this book by the way. i found…

Yeah i just discovered C25K apps for iPhone too the other day. I will be using it as soon as my ankle pain is sorted. Never thought i'd try running but looking at each workout it seems like it might be achievable.

try www.bravissimo.com It is from the UK but they ship worldwide and if it doesn't fit you can return it for a refund.

Hi I'd love to join in But anyway to introduce myself: My name is Angela. I'm 26, no kids, not married (but have a boyfriend) and live in the desert in central Australia. Anyway as there are only 5 days left for this month i guess i'll aim for 150 minutes this month. What a great idea this is!

let me add i have a kindle dx which is bigger too.
-
i love my kindle. i use it to read while I'm on the exercise bike at the gym! I would never get an iPad despite being an apple devotee as it doesn't do anything my iPhon, macbook and iPod don't do and i prefer the kindle as the eink is better for eyestrain. but if you wanted to watch movies an ipad might be good.

I tried Zumba. A beginner's one mind you. I wore my heart rate monitor to see how much of a workout it was. after an hour i'd only burnt 200 calories or so which is nothing for that amount of time. So i gave up. It was fun though.

I'm originally from Brisbane.... I live in Roxby Downs, SA now though.

ooops I forgot that the recipe i posted also has 2 eggs in it too.

I got a Suunto M4 heart rate monitor. I love it because not only does it measure your HR but it also plans how much exercise and at what level each week to loose your goal weight or to get to a goal fitness. it also does fitness tests. It works pretty well as a watch too. So i get to wake up in the morning and it tells me…

i'm pretty sure you weight it before cooking. Otherwise you are measuring water it has absorbed during cooking etc. not just the potato.

Does everyone now have all their gear to do this? If so how about we start on the 1st of April. I got mine yesterday and was too excited to leave it be - so tried it. Seemed not that hard the first level to be honest although it didn't burn as many calories as i thought it was supposed to. Anyway i do another 30 days on it…

I do. It is a variation on the Crunch Time Cookbook recipe (from the trainer from the Australian Biggest Looser). With veggie sticks (carrots, sugar snap peas, celery etc) - it is only 100cals per serve for 2 tabs of hummus with as many veggies as you can eat. - 1 can of chickpeas/ or equivalent dried chick peas soaked in…

I also order a HRM which will also take about a week to get. It will be interesting to see how many calories can be lost doing it as i hear it is quite a quick workout each day (20-30 mins?).
-
I've been doing zumba too! Also want to switch although i might do both after the 30 days of shred to keep it interesting as well as going to the gym and doing sport. I get bored easily.
-
That is awesome. Everyone shout out the minute you have your video. I'll probably be the slowest as i'm living in a remote place in Australia so post takes a while - but i did order it from an Australian supplier. I just looked it up and apparently equipment wise we need hand weights and if your going to do it on a hard…

I have occasionally taken a few days off when there is some kind of special event. Not every week. More like maybe 2 days a month. And i try to still make fairly sensible food choices. Before my diet i always ate pretty healthily anyway. But i don't deny myself. i just got back from such a non-dieting weekend and still…

It is an interesting point people raise about NOT being under your calorie goal. Myfitnesspal should stop celebrating being under the calorie goal by announcing it everyday it happens on the message board if it is such a bad thing.
