  • I mix salsa with cottage cheese and eat it as a dip with triscuit thins. Its not pretty but it gives me the idea of nachos but slightly less guilty...
  • Oh sweetie I see a big difference! Congratulations and best of luck as you continue your journey!
  • I wear my FitBit One clipped to the center of my bra and I synced it to MFP. MFP's food database is way more robust than FItbits. I lose weight most effectively if I don't eat back all of the calories that FItBit says I burn - I find that it gives me steps when I drive along bumpy roads - However, even if slightly…

I figured I might not have lost, since I was still sick all week and did not get to the gym, but wasn't counting on being up that much. Oh…

Thought I would be lucky to stay even so…
  • Perfect challenge for me! Struggles: getting to the gym and avoiding too much sugar... See you guys…

  • I am 6'1" - and since having the third kid and staying home, I fluctuate between 200 - 220, size 14 - 16. Would love to get down to 180 and improve fitness, and would be satisfied with that, although in my 20s I ranged from 148 - 158. At this height, it takes a good 20 pounds to lose a dress size, so the tall factor is…
  • More definition in your legs"after" and there is a hint of a muffin top in the "before" picture - don't give up!
  • I have a fitbit One and I love it - Is it SUPER accurate? No - it gives me steps when I drive over a bumpy patch of road, but I try to compensate for that by going over my goal each day by 10 or 20%. I sync it to MFP and that works really well - (fitbit food database is very weak, but they supposedly are working on that).…
  • Fantastic!!!

  • On top of a baked potato with sliced tomatoes and balsamic vinegar, salt and pepper. Also love it with salsa mixed in and use as a dip for veggies or triscuit thins...
  • If you are hungry, make sure you are getting enough lean protein which will keep you full. Here's my favorite meal - either for breakfast lunch or dinner -- Fill a sauté pan with mushrooms, onions, peppers, broccoli, spinach (you can use frozen veggies- they work great. I don't always like them if I am eating straight…
  • Hi - I am about 6'1" and 225-ish right now and about a size 16. One thing that is both a blessing and a curse about being tall is that I can fit in the same size over a range of almost 20 pounds - those pounds are stretched out over a large frame. I have lost about 15 pounds, and yet I am still the same size - granted, the…
  • Woo hoo!!! So happy for you!
  • I like to keep it savory and think of it as a sour cream substitute. I put it on a baked potato with chopped fresh tomatoes or salsa. I also use it as a dip - stir in some chopped olives or use a little olive tapenade - and then I like to dip Triscuit thins - a very filling snack!
  • I did this for my husband for a while and it worked well for him - There is something about looking at a bunch of food and knowing that that is all there is...especially when it came to things like sweet treats - he would look in the box and see that there was just one, and he had to consider whether he really wanted it…
  • Yay!! well done! Here is to another year of continued good health and happiness!
  • Hi - You can add me - I am 50 and have three skinny, active kids - so I can relate to the challenges - I joined last year around this time, lost about 15 pounds over a few months, but then fell off the wagon and managed to put it all back on again. So here I am again...
  • Walking, biking...Leslie Sansone's "walk away the pounds" videos are pretty good when the weather is bad and you have to be inside. Your local library may have exercise videos that you can try out, or there are lots available online on youtube. I also like Billy Blanks Tae Bo and Favorite Moves and Jillian Michaels 30 day…
  • They are coming out with better salad dressings all the time now - there is a line from Marzetti called "Simply Dressed" which are very tasty and have no corn syrup, MSG, preservatives. Marie's also has some yogurt-based dressings that are pretty tasty and not too terrible in calories. Also, I use the old Weight Watchers…
  • If you are considering WW online only (not meetings and weekly weigh-ins) vs. MFP -- I would say MFP wins hands down. Free!! and both programs work IMO, just approach it a little differently. I have done both and lost on both, and gained back on both, which just proves that for me, it really is more about what is going on…
  • "It is just so confusing at times. I walked 2 miles yesterday and put on 3 pounds, didn't walk the day before and lost a pound" Don't weigh yourself everyday!! Weight fluctuates like crazy depending on water weight, etc...I found it counterproductive to weigh too often. Stick to your plan and weigh yourself once a week. I…
