I think initially I aiming to loose about a stone or there abouts so not a lot really. So this is why I opted for a 1lb per week, as I am seeing it as more of an overall lifestyle change rather than a "quick weight loss" When I have lost some then (hopefully) will my calorie allowance go up or down? x

Thank you - thats really helpful. Its just that in comparison to what a lot of people are quoting i.e. 1000-1200 calories per day mine seems awfully high to be still loosing a 1lb a week still. My work is quite labour intensive so thats quite a good workout a few times a week :) Thank you for your help.

Slow cookers are fantastic, do a whole batch and freeze them into portions for another time - you know what you have in your freezer then and its all fantastic foods which is good for you :)
