It's great if you like bigger meals, but are having trouble with eating too much throughout the day. It helps me because I know I have to stop eating by 6PM, and then I don't eat again before 8am the next day. If you eat the same per meal, then IF would take away a potential meal (or meals) time.

If you don't mind not weighing in, don't. If you feel good about what you've done and don't care what you weigh, then don't. But if you care about weight, I would weigh at least once a week.

Good luck at the doctor!

I'm 5'3" and I'm shooting for 120.

Running/walking with your SO can be good or bad, depending on several factors, especially average speed. I have really short legs and my husband has long legs, so I have to work twice as hard just to stay up with him. Other stuff like P90X or T25 (or any video stuff really) would be ok if y'all have a good enough…

It's all about your choices. If you need a cheat meal/day/weekend to get you through this period, then go for it. Whatever you do will affect how long you have to reduce calories to hit your goal, but if that is what you need to succeed, do it. Is it ideal? Meh. Who cares? You are the one that you are answering to…

Have you heard about this hot girl that's on MFP? It's YOU!

Hang in there. Life can be tough, and the only way we get through it is to just keep on keeping on. I have a slack day where I don't have to do any chores, etc, and my husband knows that on that day, I may just sit around and watch TV or play on the computer and he does what needs to be done. Maybe you need a similar type…

I hate the sidearm shot where my arm is pressed against me, making it look twice as big.

I just got mine, but I'll let you know how it goes!

^Yes. Me too.

When you're that kind of sick, logging is not worth the energy. It would not be an accurate representation anyway. I would nourish your body however you can, even if that includes eating whatever food comforts you in these times. After you are well again, go back to logging. Stay hydrated as much as possible. Pedialyte is…

This^ TOM pretty much means I am off my diet, at least for when I get cravings. I try to stick to healthy stuff on the non-craving meals, but I have just resigned myself to the fact that I will eat random food during TOM.

Probiotics have helped me ALOT. I used to have chronic constipation, but I took a month round of probiotics, and (TMI statement coming) I poop twice a day now. I also try to eat probiotic foods like yogurt, because I think that while the pill forms help to give you a kickstart, that getting them in your food is probably…

I don't have a particular one that comes to mind, but I was always rewarded with indulgent food. Happy meals, candy, cookies, you name it. And Olive Garden was the good report card dinner. And I am all about needing recognition for the good things I do, so it is very contrary to my brain to not shovel awesome sugary fatty…

Swimming/water aerobics are all good for while you recover from an injury.

LOL ^^ 153 lbs lost. Love it! Way to go!

Oh, for those who don't know what the "whoosh" is, see this thread(it's one of many, but it's the most relevant to monthly bloat): http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1219378-whoosh-after-tom?hl=whoosh#posts-19086251

I have the same issue by about 3 lbs or so. I just wait until shark week passes and enjoy when I step on the scale and have a "whoosh" moment.

Calories in - Calories out. I definitely advocate eating healthy, but cutting out so much food that you love to eat will make you want to binge, which will drive you over your calorie goals. I would advocate, however, cutting back on so many of the foods that have tons of calories and very little nutritional value. Does…

It is totally hard to be in maintenance mode or else so many people wouldn't have needed to lose so much weight in the first place. I think you have to think of it as a balance, that sometimes your weight will be up, sometimes down, but as long as it stays within a certain range, then you're fine. And if you step on the…

Weight Watchers has helped a lot of people lose weight, but it's like anything else, it's only as good as your motivation to use it to obtain your goals. I personally don't think it's worth the money, there are so many free programs out there that you can just track your food/results in MFP and not spend money on something…

Walking is great, but what/how much you eat determines weight loss. Exercise is what provides us with fitness (which our bodies all need to process everything efficiently) and building muscle raises metabolism, which helps with weight loss as well. Walking is considered a weight bearing exercise, and it also strengthens…

I know! And congrats on the 152 lbs lost! You are amazing!

I'm guilty of self-sabotage SO much! I get to a point where I've screwed up for the day and then say to myself "oh well, if I eat horribly the rest of the day, it doesn't matter because I have already failed". I know I have to get out of that cycle, but I haven't figured out how to make that happen for ME. Telling myself…

+1! Great advice! I hope that when I get there I will be able to take all of these tips and be successful at maintenance.
