If you've torn your meniscus the only thing that is going to help is to give it time to rest and heal. Without knowing the cause of your pain it is hard for anyone to give you safe advice.

Definitely do not lose heart. I had THREE weeks where the scale did not move... the BOOM 2 lbs came off, then the next week 1.5 lbs came off! Now I am back to 1 lb a week. Just keep on keeping on... The only thing I did different is I changed up what I was eating a bit. Let myself have some starchy carbs and other foods I…

How tall are you? How much do you weigh now? How much do you want to lose? If you are 5 ft tall and weigh only 110 lbs you are going to lose weight slower than your auntie if she is much more overweight. She burns more calories just walking around then you do.

How many do you have to eat before you are satisfied? Figure them into your daily caloric intake, then there is no problem.

Celery isn't bad if you stuff it with peanut butter or cream cheese, otherwise? FORGET IT! I refuse to choose calories over flavor, and always allow myself to add a little extra something-something to make my meals taste satisfying. For example, my favorite lunch right now is a high fiber low cal tortilla stuffed with…

What I would be concerned about is your metabolism slowing down to accommodate your low caloric intake. Not sure what your goal weight is, but I know when I reach mine I want to be able to eat 1700 calories a day w/o worrying about gaining a bunch of weight back. Better to lose slower so your metabolism doesn't need a…

What sets you off on the binge? What are you starving for ? Anything in particular? What are you doing for exercise those days? Some activities may stimulate your appetite more than others... or could it be emotional eating? Need more info.

Walking underwater chest deep is easy on the joints and burns lots more calories than walking on pavement. Compare the following estimates of calorie consumption for a 30 minutes workout: Land walking: 135 calories / Deep water walking: 264 calories

I make a (4 oz) chicken breast wrap with Tortilla -Tomato Basil - Xtreme Wellness! Wrapole Mexican Foods, 1 Tortilla (its only 65 calories and has 12 grams of FIBER) and you can either make or buy salsa, and add a couple of romaine lettuce leaves. I always put sour cream as it tastes more satisfying but if you skip that…

Where I live the white bread is baked fresh every other hour and is long and crusty like a baguette, and so DAMN GOOD and CHEAP TOO! SO I eat it as a reward, but regular ole american white bread? WHY would you want to eat that stuff? LOL! When I eat american sliced bread I find the 100% whole grain and toast it.

Xtreme Wellness tomato basil tortilla (65 calories with 12 grams of FIBER) Spicy salsa, 4 oz of chicken breast, sour cream to add richness and satisfaction, and one large romaine leaf for crunch, All wrapped up it comes in just under 300 calories.

I agree with the above poster. That's also why the calories burned while just walking around doing nothing more than your usual routine will be different at different weights as you are losing.

GOOD GAWD! NO WAY would I be swimming if the water was only 68ºF. LOL! I skip the coldest winter months when the sea temps are only 78ºF. Right now the water is 80 - 82ºF and its still makes me swear a blue streak when I first get in... Anyway, I decided to not push my laps so fast today only doing 5 in 50 minutes instead…

Thanks Daisy, I will definitely check out that link as soon as I get back, I am hitting the beach again this morning. Want to get there before all the tourists clog up my laps lanes! LOL!

When I first was able to walk with a cane I was going to the beach and doing the underwater walking thing, and I was losing about 1 lb every 8 - 10 days. When my knee improved enough to put all my weight on it, and it got too cold for me and/or the VIS was bad (I do not like stepping into gooey weed patches) I switched to…

Celery stuffed with peanutbutter, and I make a canned salmon with cream cheese spread (that has lemon juice and a drop of siracha) that I keep in the fridge to put on whole wheat crackers...

Lose the potatoes and bread (unless the bread is 100% whole grain). For now stay away from any kind of white starches. Eat more GREEN vegetables and salad. Lose the canned soup, its most likely high in sodium, causing you to retain water. For protein choose chicken or turkey breasts, and use FRESH veggies over frozen or…

I agree that some foods are triggers for me and will send me on a "bender". I especially have to be vigilant about breakfast. NO refined starches, NO SUGAR, and that includes fruit! If I start the day with high protein and a complex high fiber carb then I am okay, but if I have pancakes, cereal, bagels, fruit and/or the…

What are you eating that has so much sodium? I never even get to half my allotted amount. Sodium is going to make you hold onto water weight, and is not good for your blood pressure, that is for sure.
