Smoking is still my worst and deadly bad habit. I am really trying, really. I have invested in the smoke free vapor electronic cigarettes after my doc unofficially suggested it. They are working. I just have to stop buying them. If I don't have them, I don't smoke them.. but I have this incessant need to have them…

Hi there. I was tall my entire life. 5'9, the tallest in my class. Taller than all the boys - always received attention from the older ones...and I was thin for most of my 20's & 30"s. But I didn't know it and I was always so tough on myself because I was bigger than most but I was beautiful. Today, I am much heavier, and…

I'm 5'9 and was tall, and average weight for most of my life. Then I had babies, and a life, and my weight started going up and down and up and down every few years. Now I'm shrinking ( 5'8) and at age 45 I'm overweight. (The doctors DO say obese... ) Gosh that is hard. BMI 34 Talk about tall girl problems... ADD ME

Here's what I am going to say to this.... Everyone has a different body type, different places where fat tends to deposit. So, since my fat tends to go to my belly - if I start to lose fat, I will see a difference in my belly usually first. To help this reduction in fat, to be more visible.. I do toning and strengthening…

Hey friends: I know I counted the calories wrong.. I have stated that twice in this thread. I thought one serving was 1/4 cup when in fact it was like 5 times that... so I goofed... but the truth is.. I'm still really shocked at all the calories... I just cant give up my cereal.... Thanks for everything...

Take some advice from someone who wishes she had asked the same question 20 years ago. In the beginning when my kids were little, they would eat with Mommy and all was ok. I would cook healthy food and my kids would eat it without any trouble. My husband would do what yours is doing... refuse to eat vegetables.. not eat…

I would say that if you have no contraindications to the milk than it is just a matter of introducing the food to your body again. Do some research on what to expect when your re-introducing a food. It might take a while but I'm sure you'll be able to do it over time. Of course, do the smart thing and drink skim milk if…

Two servings.. wow, I'm with you. I think this whole obesity thing is the responsibility of the food manufacturers in this country. Suddenly portion sizes grew astronomically and they masked the caloric intake of all that food. Hopefully now, folks will be paying more attention to the serving sizes and will adjust…

You haven't really told us why you eliminated milk in the first place. Of course eliminating anything completely for a long time (like milk or meat) can be a little unsettling when you add it back into your diet. So you want to add it back? What are you worried about? The calories? How to manage introducing it into your…

Kappy, That is really good news.... I thought it was only 1/4 cup. Wow.. what a difference. Thank goodness. So I ate less than the serving size. Yippee. Thanks again, I'll fix my data. Now I feel better.

Kappy Blue, I took it right off the box. The serving size they use is 1/4 cup. Well my bowl of cereal is one cup. If it is 120 calories for 1/4 cup/ times that by 4 and you get 480. Then you add in the calories for the milk. Well that is only 1 cup as well. 1 cup of milk was 120 calories... that was 600. So maybe I'm a big…
