  • I was using the Bowflex treadclimber the past couple of years. Thought I was burning a ton of calories from what the machine stated on the display and then I purchased a Polar FT7 hrm and was I wrong big time!!! I would use it on the highest resistance and go 2 minutes at 3.5 and then 2 minutes at 4 (highest) for 36…
  • I would definitely go with the HRM since it's a Polar because they are pretty accurate. I have a FT7 and I was going by what the machine said before I purchased it and boy what a difference in calorie burn!! I was using a Bowflex Treadclimer and it was saying I burned 495 calories in a half hour when my hrm stated only 150…
  • I just started it yesterday. But I have talked with a few people that said it worked for them initially but then slowed down after about 6 weeks. I thought I would give it a try. Cheap enough that it's worth a shot. Nothing else seems to be working for me. I've only lost a lb in a month and I exercise 5x week for an hour…
  • MacIntosh all the way!!! So sweet!! Love them...only apple I can eat.
  • I just tried this and this is what I got: Fat Loss (-300 calories/day) Calories No workout 1268.869091 Active workout 1530.347273 Strenuous work and workout 1791.825455 So I should only eat 1268 cals on days I don't work out and 1530 on days I do?? That seems so very low. I have mine set at 1763 now for everyday whether I…
  • Got my plyo box today!! Got it on Craig's list for $30!! It's 18" high which I think will work fine for me. It was specially made for the woman to do her workouts at home. Her and her husband were personal trainers and had it made and it is a heavy duty sturdy one!! Alot better than my picnic bench. I am ready to roll now!!
  • I HATE BURPEES TOO!!!!! With a passion!!! The HIIT dvd I do has a ton of them in there too....along with plyo lunges and jump squats. Although they are one of the best all over body exercises around from what I hear so I will just continue to do them!!
  • Nice work!! I just started yesterday and am hoping for some great results. Oh and I made sure to take pics and measured also!! Have a great weekend!
  • Actually come to think of it I haven't drank in a couple of months and haven't lost squat......ZIP.. and last weekend I went out and had about 5 grape flavored vodkas and water and I was down 2 lbs as of this morning....go figure. Looks like I might have a few tonight!!

  • I still wear short skirts and 2 pc swimsuits and I am 48 and I will continue to do so. I believe my mom wore a 2 pc into her 70's! She's 85 now but she just wears a one piece now but that's her decision. She still looks awesome!!
  • I did the first one and it said for weight loss for no workout 1272 cals and for workout 1534. That seems so low to me. Right now I have my cals set to 1763 and I don't eat exercise cals. I don't see how I would have energy at 1534 when I'm lifting. Is this accurate? I'm 48, 5' 3" and 158 lbs and I'm looking to lose fat.
  • That's awesome progress!!! Is that from NROLFW? I just ordered a squat rack for my home gym so I can start this next Monday. I need to see some results....what I am doing now isn't working!!
  • i just read this book and I ordered a squat rack so I can start this program. I've been doing Les Mills Pump combined with Combat using 40# weights for Pump for awhile now but I'm not really seeing the results that I want. I've been eating between 1700 and 1800 cals. After 3 months of the combo routine I started to just do…
  • If the heart rate monitor has a chest strap go with what that says. These are pretty accurate because you can log in all your personal info such as: sex, age, height, weight. Also it calculates according to your heart rate while you are exercising and I don't believe any machines do that. At least from everything I have…
  • Yeah that is a lot of calories to burn in an hour to hour and half. I do a Combat dvd for an hour and only burn around 300 and I am going full intensity and it's a lot of kicking and punching and jumping. I am drenched afterwards. I was a little bummed that I only burned that much cuz when I used to go to a cardio…
  • When I'm out I drink grape vodka and plain water. If I go to a party I will get Skinny tangerine flavored vodka and drink that with water. Less cals and proof than regular vodka. Only 60 proof which is good for me cuz I don't want to get too tipsy because then I won't want to wokout the next day and it slows your…
  • I have one of those sunlight similator alarm clocks. It slowly lightens my room for a half hour before the time I want to get up. It gets pretty bright by that time and then birds chirp. I like it alot. It really helps in the winter when it is so dark but now I don't need it so much because it is pretty light when I get up…
  • I read somewhere on here to just use the sedentary or light exercise mode and to eat back exercise cals. That's what I started about a week ago. I'll see how it goes. I have mine set for 1550 and I eat my cals from exercise so I am eating around 1800-1900 depending on what I burn that day. I have a Polar heart rate monitor…

  • Sorry but he sounds superficial and shallow and his family sounds even worse. Sounds like he listens to everything they say instead of thinking for himself. I don't think I would want to marry into that family. Lose the weight for yourself and only yourself and your health. Never do it for someone else. Good luck on your…

  • Me, my husband, son and daughter are all signed up for the Buffalo/Andover one in July. I can't wait. I have been doing Les Mills Pump, Les Mills Combat programs to get ready for it. I will have to start doing some jogging soon too though. Combat has 2 killer HIIT workouts in it and Pump is all weights. Hopefully this will…
  • I purchased a Polar 60 about a month ago and I am glad I did. My cals burned were about 1/2 of what my previous hrm read. My previous hrm was a cheap one and it didn't have a cheststrap and the new one I have does. The Polar was cost alot more but I believe it to be accurate and it had a ton of good reviews. I paid $134…
  • This ^ Absolutely LOVE the stuff!! Just got my first shipment of the chocolate to try too!!
  • This is what I am going to try doing. Has it been working for you this way?
  • Is the sugar you are eating from processed foods or from fruit? I ignore the sugar from my fruit intake because otherwise I am over just eating a sweet potato and a banana which is pretty much every day.
