I really enjoy cooking and use vegetarian/vegan cookbooks to help meet all the nutritional values. They help provide well-rounded meals. You are more than welcome to add me as a friend.

I signed up a while ago and am currently doing the C25K program to get ready for it. I can't wait!

Personally, I wouldn't log since I'm on vacation. But you could go to mapmyrun.com and trace the route you walked and get the distance. From there it is pretty straight forward to get calories. Enjoy your vacation, though.

Had mine out in 2008. I have no problems with food now. I guess it just depends on the individual.

There are a lot of exercises you can do at home without any weights. Push up and sit ups are a great start. Also consider burpees, squats, lunges. One good way to do push ups and sit ups are in a pyramid style (1 push up - one sit up, 2 push ups - 2 sit ups, go up to ten and then back down). We did this often in the Army…

Since you have a history of an eating disorder, I would suggest seeing a nutritionist. She/he would know best for you.

One 12 oz beer has between 120-180 calories. Calories per case (12 cans = 1440 -2160, 24 cans = 2880 - 4320). This could be the problem.

Couple of suggestions: 1) Make sure you have good supportive shoes. 2) Use exercise flooring (squares that fit together like puzzle pieces) -- they help my joints a lot 3) Make sure to use correct form 4) Ice knees afterwards 5) You may be developing tendinitis -- seeing a sports med doc may not be a bad idea

I really like RunDouble.

After I had ankle surgery, I would swim a lot and would even run in the pool. Also try looking up exercises that can be done in wheelchairs on youtube. There are some good ideas on there and you can just sit in a chair to go them.

You have a BMI in the normal range. Your body might be at the weight it needs to be. Becoming thinner than genetically programmed takes much more effort than to lose to get to a normal weight.

I meant to say lipomas not adenomas. Sorry.
-
There are multiple causes. If they are painful, it can be gout or rheumatoid arthritis. If they are not painful, it could be a build up of calcium. Also, adenomas are fatty, non-cancerous tumors that can cause random bumps but they are usually softer. If they are not painful, there is not too much of a worry but if they…

I always use New Balance shoes. If there is a New Balance store by you, they can help find the perfect pair. I use a pair of trail running shoes since they are the most supportive. They also have multiple widths which is nice. They are a little expensive but its worth it since my knees and ankles don't hurt while running…

While I was doing my residency, I did my research on family medicine physicians and attitudes and knowledge about EDs. The results were surprising. Many did not have significant knowledge about EDs and some even blamed the patient. On the other hand, there were some that were extremely knowledgeable. Most, fortunately, did…

Today was Week 3 day 1 for me. There are a lot of people on MFP doing the program.

Go to myrecipes.com and search for vegetarian meals. They have a whole section of light meals.

If you are going from not running at all, I would take the rest days in order to help prevent injuries. You can always cross train on rest days though such as riding a bike or swimming.

@Robyn -- as Jimmy Neutron? I love it. Thanks @Lost -- Party

Everyone will probably laugh but I listen to contemporary christian music on pandora. It gives me motivation, hope, and allows me to connect with my spirituality a little. If a slow song comes on, I'll just skip it.

Thank you for all your replies. Everything is very helpful.

Great job! My biggest piece of advise is to find a healthy cookbook and make use of all the fresh veggies and fruits that come in the summer. Feel free to add me as a friend.

I'm a grad student and understand the exam--stress--eating cycle. One thing that helped was for me to put myself on a schedule with included meals/snacks, exercise, and relaxation. For example, I would wake at 8am, have breakfast, study until noon, eat, study 2 hours, then go for a run or play a quick round of golf, eat,…

I am a grad student at my university and have the same anxieties about working out at the rec center. The rec center was reviewed as one of the best in the nation but working out in front of everyone is very intimidating for me especially since I'm older than most (I'm 30) and weigh more than most. I am planning on lifting…

I listen to upbeat christian music on I Heart Radio. It provides motivation and brings a sense of peacefulness while I run. My favorite is 99.5 The Fish.

If you haven't seen a doc recently, it may not be a bad idea to get a physical and let him or her know. Just be on the safe side to make sure your heart is healthy and to make sure you're not anemic since they can also cause excessive fatigue with exercise. As long as everything checks out ok, remember it takes a while to…

I used to work at Walter Reed Hospital and saw many amputee vets using the Wii fit and Wii boxing.
