[edit] - getting rid of my not nice post. Have a nice day. :)

Odd - I'm normally in my own world when I work out... but reading through I'm laughing more at people in this thread, while I agree with a few points (people that don't wipe up, droppers, hogs and barbies just wasting a machine, and old gym clothes), some of these complaints are just silly... Its a locker room, avert your…

Keep the positive attitude. My wife was able to quit without issue, but I turned into a monster for weeks after and still have cravings and using dreams after 7 years.
-
And why drop so quick when you have the loose skin to deal with then? Challenge yourself, but be reasonable.
-
The rude c*&%$ who sit on their little machines, pretend to wipe their foreheads every once and while barely moving their legs, and all the while whispering about and judging other people. The big guy slowly shuffling along the track is at least making a start to try to change his life for the better, and at least he won't…

Problem is some people think "supportive" means that people shouldn't point out what they are doing wrong, disagree with them, etc and QQ when they are called out. That and others enjoy the anonymity of the internet so they can be jerks. TBH, thats why I don't grab a circle of online cheerleaders and only friend people I…

All until the next big research comes back and says it is.... kind of like the egg debate for decades.

Been there.... learning to pace is the first thing you need to teach yourself. Its not about how much faster you are moving, but that you are moving a bit faster. When I first wanted to start running I went w/o a program, and gave myself shin splints that lasted for almost 2 months because when it was time to run, I would…

I care about my wife's weight. We were skinny together when we hooked up, we were skinny together after our first kid, we got fat together after the second kid. And those were a few miserable years for the both of us. Now I care because we're losing weight together, running together, have a lot more energy for "together"…

how quickly butthurt can move from one thread to the other when the original is closed down.

At 3 they started getting "quiet time" instead of naps where if they fell asleep, so be it, if not, they could quiet play on their beds with toys. At 4 it basically went away.

My wife is on here and I'll comment. Yeah - after our second child we both got out of shape and put on a bunch of excess baggage. You don't have anyone to try to impress anymore, so you just let things slide. Fortunately we decided to work together to get back in shape and look completely different then what we did 20…

I say thanks and take it home as a treat for my kids.

My wife doesn't care... mainly because my fiscally responsible side doesn't like wasting money in said locations. But the fact that she's gone before with me and groups of friends, sees how I act, is confident enough in herself, and trusts me makes me appreciate her even more. The last time I was at one with some work…

Any bets that at the end of it all, Rick wakes up from being in a coma from having been shot at the beginning of the series? Seems like a cheesy way to cop out after they make things too dark, in either the graphic novels or tv show, but the set up is there for it.

If you are already dieting and exercising you'll probably get a bit of a placebo effect from them. If they work for you, great, for me since I don't drink coffee or pop they gave me the caffeine shakes and made me feel ill.

My genes allowed me to eat what I wanted for as long as I wanted, but as soon as I hit mid 20s and didn't have good diet and eating patterns it caught up with me.

Children watch and emulate those around them so well. Until my son was 2.5 and daughter was 8 I was playing video games, we were eating out a lot (both parents working, quick meals were almost a requirement, and next to no activity). Both kids were raised with a TV, so playing computer games, wii, and watching TV was a few…

I've cut way down, and gave up mixed drinks. I've learned to appreciate brandys, Irish whiskeys and scotches straight, neat, or on the rocks. When I drink beer I go for Guinness, evidently a "healthier" beer... not vouching for the science, but hey, its on the internet so its got to be true, right?…

LOL - I was watching this thread and wondering how long you were gonna make it. Good post, and great job trying to help people. I'm not a fan of the "everyone is different" excuse, and think you just laid out a great plan for 90+% of the population.

wicking cloths (especially socks and undergarments) helped me a lot... When I first was running c25k I had cotton shirt, socks and whitey tighties... it was really a distraction while running. Armband for your cell phone or other mp3 device. If you have a smart phone there are a lot of good running apps out there, pick…

http://www.c25k.com/ its a 9 week program, but I'm sure you can fit it into 8 weeks.
-
graduated last year. Awesome program, ran my first 5k in under 26 minutes two weeks after completing, and I had never been much of a runner.
-
dropped almost 50 over 9 months, gained 15 back in the last three while taking "time off".... thus I'm back again :) holidays can be such b!tch.
-
lots of threads already on it. I went from not being able to run for a minute at a decent pace to running a 5k in just under 25:30. IMO - works great, starting to work on a 10 min now.
-
5'10" started at about 235 late Dec by giving up pop, and paying a little bit more attn to what I ate. Last couple months have been difficult and I've been relaxing more, but I'm under 190 pounds (I'm fluxing between 186-189 most of the time). The program works, my first two weeks were on this program alone before I really…

c25k.

I went from not being able to run for more then a minute or so to running a 5k in 26 minutes in about 11 weeks (2 weeks after I graduated c25k). Lots of success stories on these boards, its comes highly recommended.
-
double post, sry.

Yeah - your going to be getting a lot of replies saying eat your exercise calories back, it seems counter intuitive, but it works, just check the success stories for proof. BUT - if you just had a baby and if your nursing you should check with your doc before you start any sort of calorie deficit program.
