  • One bad meal wont make you fat, just like one healthy meal wont make you skinny.
  • I shoot for 6-7. I find myself not able to eat a lot at once if I am eating healthy, but of course I am hungry with in 2 hrs and I always get hungry at night. I usually go for a fiber filled cereal at night. the crunch and sweetness keeps me happy.
  • if your wanting to actually build find out what your max lifting capacity for on rep is and do about 70-80% of that weight for 8-12reps 3-4sets also don't be surprised if you gain weight when you start lifting. I hold a lot more water weight when lifting and you will gain from the muscle gains as well.
  • I have to agree with just sucking it up and doing it. beating yourself up is just going to lead to emotional eating which we all know makes it worse. My heaviest was 240ish and I CAN NOT believe I got to that point. It wasn't until I dropped 40lbs that I realized how bad I really had gotten. a year later it is still hard,…
  • there is a video series on youtube that I love. the videos are RAW.VEGAN.NOTGROSS....I personally am not vegan but everything she makes looks phenomenal.
  • I did south beach when I tried the low carb and it worked well for me but is something I could never do more than one month. I try to keep my carbs 100-150g....higher on days I workout. Keep in mind I am 5'8" and 197lbs so my macros may be different than yours. My protein is 130gs and the rest is fats. The main draw back…
  • I'm in TN and half my family is in NC and I know what you mean by the infamous southern food, however you have to learn how to clean it up that you still have the flavor without the calories. I find chicken to be easy to clean up as well as veggies. Once you get all the butter and salt out of your system it is so much…
  • oh how I wish I felt leaner the day after a burger......I don't particularly have more cravings on lift days but I do generally get pretty hungry. Usually a good steak and potato solve that tho.
  • I don't understand this....To my knowledge if you are honestly not getting full it is because your metabolism has slowed down due to not consuming enough food. I have my calories set at 1850 and I am hungry all the time if I don't eat junk. I've done my share of research and have slowly added calories forcing my metabolism…
  • And there is a difference in strength and endurance....8hr is endurance. Also in a gym setting you are able to protect your body better where as as a laborer usually you cant and longer term it wears your body down.
  • I see where he is coming from but at the same time Body building is more than just looking the part. You can re-shape and transform your body, and there is "real" strength in being able to clean and press 250lbs or deadlift 300lbs. You may not be able to use those movements as a construction worker but it is still strength.
  • I burn anywhere from 500-700 in a class but I am 197ish and I keep my HR high. I wear a monitor to help push me...I have a polar and one I got from ALDI's for like $20 which works just as well. Both of mine have the chest straps
  • I always gain weight when I initially start working out and in the past it has always deterred me and I would stop all together. I agree with what several people have said about it possibly being not enough food. Keep in mind when you workout,, especially weights, your body will retain some water and you will gain "weight"…
  • Rule of thumb...if you didn't gain it in 30 days, don't expect to loose it that quick.
  • I wanna say the white ones are Japanese sweet potatoes. That's what our Kroger here has them listed as but I have never tried them.
  • When this happens I don't understand why people don't just use google. I had someone on my page use the term "quark" and I'm like wth is that? A lot of the people I follow aren't American, so google is my BF sometimes.
  • Think about if for a second before getting hopeless. 3500 calories is just 1lb...not 20. Your not going to double in size because of 3500 calories. Tomorrow is a new day and another shot at getting it right. It might also help if you can determine why you felt the need to eat as much as you did. If something is bothering…
  • Thank you for posting this. I still eat MSG, as I am sure most of us do, but since becoming more aware of it I can avoid it easier. I used to crave McDonalds every day. After breaking myself of eating it, my cravings left and it has been months since I have had food from there.
  • If you are slightly under don't stress at all but as far as starvation mode being an excuse please explain. I had issues not eating enough and it most certainly didn't speed things up. Weight loss is based on a caloric deficit...key word "weight" not "fat". Your body needs a certain amount of fuel before it feeds on its…
  • I would eat more. I tried the 1200 and it made me weak, have constant headaches, and I just felt horrible over all. I was doing 1500 and wouldn't eat all my calories back and it worked for a while but the weight did stop coming off and now I have increased it to 1800. I may net closer to 1600 after my workouts but I never…
  • I no longer eat tilapia because it is farm raised now. I stick with wild caught cod, mahi mahi, ect. It's along the lines of eating grass fed beef vs crappy fed beef. There is a difference in the taste now too, I have noticed tilapia has a stronger fishy taste than it use to, but it may also be the brands where I am…
  • I grunt....90% have headphones in anyways. I just hate when the weird noises get louder and louder and you wonder if they are lifting or fornicating in the gym.
  • I'm an easy sweater.....So at the gym I look like a faucet but IDGAF cause I am there to workout. All the girl that do their hair and makeup and never break a sweat aren't there to workout in my opinion. Regardless of what the girls say in that class busting your *kitten* is attractive to most male gym rats so I say give…
  • Try stevia as your sweetener....it's better in my opinion. And I think you can get chocolate flavored stevia from WF for cooking with. That may help.
  • #1 rule of Poling...NEVER LET GO GRAVITY WILL WIN I can honestly say I have never fell on my face and fingers crossed I never do.
  • There is a reason why you are suppose to test it out before going HAM....this is the reason.
  • in all honesty this was suggested to me at the gym....I've been in a deficit since feb and have lost fat and gained muscle but it did seem harder the more carbs I ate. Fasted cardio was also suggested and I plan to start that next week once I move to my apartment that has a gym. I've decreased my deficit recently because I…
  • I have to agree....bulking is bulking. Eating a salad vs a can of premade soup isn't going to effect how you put on muscle. I will say I think clean eating makes loosing weight easier because you tend to eat fewer calories. However I don't believe in "I don't have time to eat clean". You make time for what is important.…
