  • This!! You have to consume literally 3500 calories over what you use all day to actually gain a whole pound. I was the same way when I started working out. I expected to see immediate results. Just remember, you didn't gain weight over night..so you wont loose it that way. Try to stay positive in a couple weeks you will…
  • Your not eating near enough and your eating a lot of processed premade food which are usually high in sodium and will cause you to retain water weight. Try making you own food and eat more of it, you are starving yourself.
  • I didn't let MFP calculate my calories....I felt 1220 wasn't enough for me so I try to consume 1600-1700ish but I will burn a lot of that off. With that said....if I get hungry I still eat I do not deprive myself. I also lift weights and under eating kinda makes building muscle counterproductive. I have steadily been…
  • Ive done low carb and got good results initially, but long term it is hard and unrealistic. Not saying doesn't work for some, it just didn't for me. I am trying so hard to get stronger and gain muscle and I need that extra starchy carb to help with energy. With that being said my starchy carbs are usually steel cut oats,…
  • what is your diet like? Processed food and heavy carbs make me sluggish, but fruit and eating lean meats does wonders for me.
  • agreed....I try to get in a gallon a day but never make it I usually get in 3 liters but I eat a lot of fruit so I know I am getting plenty of liquid without drowning myself.
  • So glad you posted this I was wondering the same thing today except I didn't drink or have a lot of caffeine I just started working out more. I feel like I eat enough food like 1600ish cals but I am burning 600-700 and I didn't think about it today that that s leaving me with so little to run on. Im having trouble focusing…
  • Exactly...I definitely don't under feed and I absolutely refuse to do so. I am a yoyoer and I know I will binge out. I eat for my workouts and I am not afraid of carbs, calories, or weights. I don't think being on birth control is something I will ever do and I don't see how that s a healthy reaction if my body ever does…
  • I ve talk to two different trainers already about whether it is a realistic goal or not and they both agreed it is ok. I doubt I will every get to 15 but 18 I think I can make. From what I have read anything below 15 is dangerous. I have a way to go so I will play it as I go but if I ever decide to do comps low numbers are…
  • iv weaned myself off of caffeine finally and I really hate the idea of energy drinks if I can avoid it especially sugar free just because of the chemicals they load them down with. I don't do coffee or tea except for once in a while. I think my diet has helped me loose that 3pm feeling. if I really really need something I…
  • I personally have a hard time getting this low but I am 5'8". People do need to realize though that an extremely clean diet has very little calories. If you are eating a lot of veggies and fruit with lean meats and low complex carbs and low fats your cals will be really low.
  • Sound like you may need to change the type of workout you are doing. You said you wasn't very muscular...therefore I would start weight training 3x's a week. It will increase how many calories your body burn s every day and will increase you metabolism. Your weight may not go down at first but you will burn lbs in fat and…
  • :frown: that s no good. A break will definitely help. My weight lose is not what it could be but I make sure I eat for my workouts or else I get burnt out and quit. And if I have zero energy my workouts are crap. I did start taking a prework out and it has helped me quite a bit. Just make sure you don't burn yourself…
  • I did insanity as fasted cardio like 3 days a week when I did it and did my usual workout in the afternoons. It worked, but I just couldn't get into running in place and jumping on my carpet. plus putting my nose in my carpet was a real turn off. lol
  • make sure you are sinking into your heals when you squat and I find plié squats to be really effective. My toe will come of the ground if I squat without a squat rack. also if you can use a rack that will help you target better and going down deep as you can will too.
  • I would still do squats its really hard for women to get bulky. I go as heavy as I can and I am still not bulky but my rear is looking so much better. something else you can do is lunges with your back foot on an incline. It will take a bit to get the balance down but it will burn. Also you can tie a resistance band around…
  • Dido!! Lift heavy always even females. You get better results faster and burn a lot more calories. I am still in weight loss mode but I have already begun the lifting and you grow to love it. There is always a body part sore and I have a hard time taking a rest day.
  • I really like this answer. I think it should be on an individual basis. I just try to eat before I get hungry or else I get Hangry( hunger and anger confused) and I will settle for junk.
  • concentrate as hard on your diet as you do your workout. Cut out as much refined sugars and flours as you can it will help I promise. I drink nothing but water now, since juice and milk are loaded in sugar and fat its a nogo. Also any grains you intake try to make them whole like couscous or quinoa they are high in protein…
  • I weigh every morning to help maintain my water weight an to know if I have had to much sodium the day before. I use to get discouraged but the more I learned about how weight varies I used it to motivate. I will also gain after intense lifting sessions.
  • I weigh my meat once it is cooked. As far as rice I will keep up with how many servings I am cooking then just divide once it is done. I don't get real serious with veggies since they have a low calorie impact and it generally takes more calories to burn than it gives you. but I will say weighing food is a necessity now. I…
  • hot yoga did wonders for my back. I groom dogs and for the first 3 years I worked at petsmart and it literally killed my back so when I left and went to a new shop it obviously still bothered me. I do a lot of stretching now and do hot yoga when it acts up and it seems to help me a lot
  • this would be mine if I could choose one
  • spaghetti squash is my favorite you cut it in half and take the seeds out brush the flesh with olive oil and put skin up roast at 350 for about 30-45 mins and then I will add ground turkey cheese marinara maybe some veggies anything you would put on spaghetti.
  • Hi Todd, I hope you can connect with the right people that are able to help you out. I ve been a member of this site for a while and just now started looking into the community so I myself need a few people to fall back on. I was in a bad place not to long ago, guess you could say I am not actually in a good one now, but…
  • try adding in some weight training.....more muscle means a higher calorie deficit. You weight loss will not be as high but you fat lose will which is more important in my opinion.
  • hi my name is Amanda, I've yo-yoed for a couple years now with my weight never understanding what it really takes to be fit. I'm not sure what my heaviest was but I was at 240 last year. I started doing a lot of research around Feb of this year and stopped making excuses. I made meal plans and prepped food and learned that…
