I honestly don't know what my maintenance is. I was eating at 1600 and not gaining or losing. I started at 1800 this week and we shall see what happens. I predict I'll need to go up to at least 2000 to see a real gain but who knows. Glad to know MFP is low for you. It doesn't really take into account people who have muscle…

Not familiar with that plan... will have to check it out! So here is what I have been doing... in great detail.... lol. I may change it up after a few weeks if I don't see progress. I copied and pasted this from my blog and included some changes... Mondays -chest/triceps Tuesdays -back/abs/legs (part 1) Wednesdays…

Someone on bodybuilding.com suggested this: http://fit-universe.com/layne-nortons-powerhypertrophy-routine.html
-
silly me... that's what I had... 40 CARBS not protein... lol... you had it right the first time... not sure why I mixed that up...
-
Anyone wanna share how they are training? I've just been doing my own routine but I'm thinking of changing some things up. Right now I do each muscle group 1X/wk except for legs which I do twice/wk. I have been doing weights only 4 days/week but I'm considering increasing that... any thoughts?

Yes it's totally gotta be an experiment for anyone I think. I've never done it before either. I may have to go even high in calories than I predict but I won't know that until I try. I tend to both gain and lose fairly easily so we shall see. If I go several weeks where I am and see no progress... I'll add in another…

Awesome!!! woot woot!!! I have my macros set at 40% CARBS (not protein oops!) and 30/30 fat/protein. I'm not sticking to this obsessively though. My goal is to get at least 1gm/lb of body weight of protein every day or MORE... preferably more. I've been getting 160-180 here most days so I'm doing pretty good with that...

YAY!!! Come on in! Gosh us cardio crazy people!! LOL... yes... I'm still gonna do it... just cut back...
-
you beat me to it! LOL
-
Fantastic!!! I might do that too... track my body fat and when I get to a certain % start to cut. I'm starting really low though and I'm planning on doing a slow bulk instead of trying to gain a lb/week. It will take longer but I'm hoping it will yield a smaller fat gain. adding you as a friend too... if you'll have me :)

Believe me. I get it. I would be getting ripped and lean if I were getting married soon. We are talking about doing a cruise in November. I might be a bit soft for it if we do but I look at it this way... no one there is gonna know me and I'll get to actually eat a respectable amount of food... LOL

Well that's great if you are only 250 above maintenance... that's the way to do it! I bet you haven't gained very much fat at all. Just go buy a fairly inexpensive caliper... even if it isn't super accurate it will at least give you a baseline and a trend so you can see your change. I've had my body fat done both at the…

I've been perusing bodybuilding.com and it seems most are bulking anywhere from 4-6 months or more. I was thinking if I started now I could bulk for a whole 5 months... through December... then start cutting in January and get down to 11-12% body fat (which is where I've been the last couple of months) by swimsuit season...
-
YAY!!!!!!!!! There's no one I'd rather have by my side than you Taso... because you rock! How far above maintenance are you and how long have you been doing it?
-
ooops! double post!
-
thanks! I mostly need to get my thighs/quads looking better. Right now they are just thin and really underdeveloped compared to my upper body.

Ate this again today but this time with almonds in it.... sooooooooooooooooo yummy!

^^this Also, men are generally more visual creatures where women are more emotional... and from my own experience... that fact will impact the "perks" department. For instance, my husband and I are both in the best physical shapes of our lives. He notices the change in my body and acts accordingly. I notice the change in…

I tried this idea today but not with almond milk. I wanted something a bit more rich with more protein. Blended together the following ingredients: 1/2 cup Fage 0% plain yogurt 2 tbsp PB2 1/2 banana 1/4 cup sugar-free syrup dash of vanilla dash of cinnamon ... shook in the ice bag per OP's instructions... Voila! Frozen…

Hahaha... my husband would be looking for the "like" button on this one I'm sure.... As a mom, one of the advantages of my kids getting a little older and more interdependent was that I was finally able to visit the throne alone again. It's really nice not to have an audience in there with me asking questions and begging…

Me too!!! LOVE that combo!

Timely topic for me. My hair is in good condition despite all I do to it (keratin treatments, dye, heat, etc)... but I'm wanting to grow it back out again. My husband sorta hinted that he misses me having longer locks. I've had a chin-length bob for quite a while. Ugh... I hate growing hair out. I'm going to try some of…

I luv me some Texans too... Yall are like southern belle beauty queens who can eat crawfish just like a Cajun! A large portion of the people around here are transplants from Texas...
-
Well I'm a Cajun myself and I live only about an hour away from the Atchafalaya River Basin! We aren't all swamp people down here... but we do have our own dialect unique to our area. When I spent the summer in St. Louis, MO I was asked on a daily basis where I was from. I don't require subtitles though...…
-
Btw... I did lose inches everywhere... 1" in the chest and 2.5" in my waist... but in my thighs I lost a whopping 5.5" ...
-
Others have suggested it's all about overall body fat... and they are right! However, I have personally seen a change in my body shape since I've lost the weight. I used to carry a lot of extra fat around my thighs that I NEVER thought would go away... and I now have a great thigh gap and I love it! I attribute this change…

me too.

How long do you bake it for?

yummy yummy!!!

^^^ that... the more fit I am, the less I burn doing anything cardiovascular. The body becomes more efficient I suppose...
