Do you want to gain muscle? if you do, you need to be in a calorie surplus. Yes you'll gain a bit of fat with it but it's par for the course. Yes, less calories = less energy.
-
Yes, that's what I would do. Once you reach your goal, begin increasing your calories. You will want the scale to start going back up. It's common to gain an initial 4-5lbs right off the bat due to an increase in glycogen stores and fluid retention. After that you should aim to gain about 2 lbs/month. You only need a…

^^that. When cutting I just focus on maintaining strength. Any strength gains made during a cut can more than likely be attributed to neural adaptation and not muscle hypertrophy. What is your goal at this time? If it is to lose fat then you should continue doing what you are doing and accept that you would be fortunate to…

Take it from someone who almost destroyed herself with overtraining (if you want to read about it I just did a blog post (http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/stephanielynn76/view/a-cautionary-tale-of-overtraining-and-setbacks-688558) … rest is crucial. You absolutely CAN overdo it. You really have to listen to your body. Too…

LOL sista girl!!! How you doin'?

Ok so I might actually appear more "bulky" than most aspire to be but it is the look I am going for. Remember that leanness is always a factor. The leaner you are the more muscle will be visible. When I am at a "normal" weight and body fat I don't look like this. This was just for a competition. Ripped up at "competition"…

freakin' LOLed at this .gif!!! ^^Wow what a sweet thing to say!!! Thank you! :flowerforyou: Thanks for taking the time to check out my blog... and for the kind words!

Take it from someone who has been TRYING to get "bulky" for several years now... it's not easy for the vast majority of women to attain that look. Yes there are some with elite genetics but they are rare. Most of us could train hard and heavy for many years and never have a "bulky" look.

QFT! Very good real-life example of why lifting heavy is important!

#1 I deadlift with the guys AND I shake my booty in Zumba. I'm obsessed with both! #2 My take on creepers... If no one is looking, I must not be doing something right. Also... people are gonna stare. I intend to make it worth their while. :) #3 I still wear flip flops with dresses... if they are high wedges with bling!

I think she looks amazing! I prefer a more muscular look for myself but we all got preferences!

Now that you mention it... I could use a spot every now and again. Give me a few and I'll post a vid on my blog of my recent deadlift PR... 232x8. Funny I think that make-up actually gives me super powers!

Whoa! That's low! That picture was take 4 weeks ago. I'm even leaner now. Up until this week I was still eating 1900 calories and over 200 carbs per day. I just dropped to 1700 on Monday. Are you carb sensitive? How long have you been dieting? Did you go straight to 1600 or did you gradually decrease calories? How much…

Calorie deficit... simple as that. :) I'm cutting for a show that's less than 4weeks away... ;)

<<<< puts on a full face of make-up before going to the gym. You mad?

First of all... what is your end goal? What do you want to look like? So to answer your question... yes, you can lose body fat without lifting. In fact, you can lose body fat without any exercise at all. All you have to do is eat at a caloric deficit. Be aware, however, that when you diet without training you will lose…

^^Posted those same links on my blog like a year ago! :D

I've recently become obsessed with confetti cupcake pop tarts. I would literally eat a whole box.

QFT. As a chick who has intentionally bulked twice over the last 2 years... I can attest to this. Building muscle is HARD. I have spent many months eating at a surplus and training like a beast to gain just a little more mass. In fact, I suspect it's going to take me at least 2 more years (bulking 7+ months each) to get to…

LOL! I second that. Intermittent fasting FTW! :P

You aren't hungry because you've suppressed your metabolism by eating such a low calorie diet for so long. The lack of hunger is a BAD thing... Watch the videos...

Start your weight-loss program on a small deficit that will allow you to eat the highest amount of calories possible. ^^Some people may think I'm nuts for making this suggestion but I'm going to explain why. Women message me ALL THE TIME complaining that they have plateaued in their weight loss and don't know what to do.…
