  • This was helpful for me: http://kellymom.com/bf/can-i-breastfeed/lifestyle/mom-exercise/ Why does your doctor think you're having supply issues? I started exercising fairly strenuously (running 30 minutes 6mph) at 7 weeks and have built up to an hour at 6-6.7 mph now at 16 weeks PP, plus strength training and boot camp…
  • This is bad news. I was so looking forward to my nightly glass of wine after being pregnant for the past eon. And it's probably what's stalling my weight loss. argh Sign me up for your group please :)

  • I'm 2 and a half weeks pp and I'm dying to start running again! Thankfully I had a complication-free birth with a very mild tear (no stiches). But I've read running too soon can cause a collapsed bladder- yikes! - among other problems. I just started power walking while wearing my baby or pushing the kids in the stroller…
  • We've narrowed it down to Rose and Amira. I love Amira but I'm not sure if it's too uncommon and will be difficult to spell/pronounce here in the US. Hubby likes Margot but I think it's too bookish. He also likes Vivian. I like Louisa and Sylvie. Our other two daughters are Genevieve and Lydia (LOVE those names)
  • Congrats Mamas! Feel free to add me. I'm pregnant with my third baby and would love more pregnant and postpartum friends so we can support each other in this weight gain and loss craziness unique to having babies. I try to eat pretty clean and love to cook. I'm not good at avoiding chocolate ;) 5'7" Starting weight: 128 15…
  • Avoid high-fructose corn syrup. Completely. Which means I make my own desserts and buy good chocolate :) I eat a lot of chocolate and I was fine in maintenance and have been having an easy time gaining weight very slowly with this pregnancy. There was a study done by researchers at Princeton where they found that mice…
  • This is exactly what happened to me. I finally lost the last of the baby weight gained with my first ... when my second daughter turned 2! Now I'm pregnant with my 3rd and I admit it's kind of hard to let go of the body I finally got back knowing I'll have to do it all over again. But so worth it :)
  • 16 weeks pregnant, 5 pounds gained Started at 128 and dropped to 126 via morning sickness. Now at 131.4 I gained 65 lbs with my first lovie, 26 lbs with my second. It did take me a long time to finally get back to my original pre-pregnancy weight after that first crazy weight gain, but I finally did it before I got…
  • I think The Zone and South Beach diets are good to put you in the right frame of mind - healthy fats, higher proteins, complex carbs. Sometimes it helps to follow a set diet at first to get the ball rolling and then move into a lifetime style of eating after you see how your body changes.
  • I also try to eat whole foods, but I love muffins!, so that doesn't always work :) I do try and bake my own sweets because I avoid HFCS like the plague.
  • I do the Black-Eyed Peas channel on Pandora and it's mostly great for tempo.
  • Wanted to add, Minute Brown Rice only takes 10 minutes total to make and it has the same nutritional value as regular long-cooked brown rice (I looked it up to make sure). I think it's great as a base if you add a good sauce, then you won't even know it's brown rice and not white.
  • Yeah it seems high, but those numbers are so nice!
  • Volunteering does wonders. It's better to feel grateful than to feel happy.
  • OMG you are Drop Dead Gorgeous (I totally stalked your page). If you didn't have kids together, I would beg you to leave him because he sounds manipulative and controlling and I've been with that kind and it's strangling. But you have two girls, so please get thee to counseling - for Him not really for you. Except to be…
  • I made this tonight and it was Da Bomb: http://www.food.com/recipe/baked-avocado-with-red-salmon-filling-106738 I love my own fake sushi recipe (3 ingredients to Heaven), I make it at least once a month: 1 avocado, ripe 1 tablespoon pickled ginger, I like Ginger People soy sauce 1 Peel and slice avocado. 2 Arrange on a…
  • For me it's benefited my marriage because I'm more confident between the sheets, which leads to more mojo, which leads to more you-know-what ;)
  • I vote for gym first. If you've never had a gym membership before, sign-up for the free one week trials that most gyms offer (bonus, you'll get free workputs for awhile! ) this will also show you quickly if you'll use the membership enough to offset the cost. I am curious about heart-rate monitors but I think they would…
  • and finally...for giggles...homemade alphabet soup (that my kids wouldn't eat)
  • Chicken tikka masala, basmati, tamarind dressed cherries, homemade naan. mmmmmmmmm
  • honey glazed salmon, curried rice and veg. I've been meaning to upload these for awhile, so here's a barrage of food from my kitchen :)
  • This is a really interesting post and helpful. I just wanted to add - I am at my goal weight but want to tone my stomach. Or basically make it flat and lose the love handles for those of you who don't like the word tone ;) I've noticed that when I eat a lot of sugar and high glycemic carbs and/or if I drink beer - my love…
  • Wow! Miralax is terrible. Sometimes I'm amazed at how slow the medical establishment is to pick up on things. Have you read Wheat Belly? I've heard it's really eye-opening. We're probably all a little intolerant to the mutated gluten that's in our baked goods - and almost everything else - now, and the less you eat it the…
  • I understand the philosophy of not sticking to numbers on the scales, but I don't agree with it. If I didn't care about numbers on the scale I would still weigh 165 lbs. For me the numbers aren't arbitrary at all but indicators of the size of my body. And they really are; I have a small frame so I look a lot different at…
  • I've seen your diary, Sniccifit and you DO eat super healthy and lots of good protein. It's good to know that I'm not alone, although it sounds like staying at a good fighting weight takes some fighting. Are you gluten intolerant? Sometimes I wonder if I am.
  • I just posted this as my profile. At goal weight, need to work on my mom belly.
  • I think mine is way too low too at 25. I go over mine with the same things, one fruit a day and a yogurt. Personally I think I should be eating More than one fruit a day! Anyway I just searched the topic to see what others might suggest. I want to lose three more pounds and then maintain and I'm wondering what a good…
