Yes, I can't really get into the lingo either. If I have a question I usually ask my daughter. She thinks I am eating too few calories, but I told her that I feel fine. The eat up days are to help avoid binging and in my regimen they have a system of what to eat more of. When my 12 days of the 2 cycles of 5/1000 1/1500,…

I am pretty sure you will be fine. I started a new regimen that advocates, for my weight and height, a calorie intake of 7500 calories a week. It involves eating basically 1000 cal/day for 5 days , then one "eat up" day of 1500, for 12 days, then it will change and cycles over a 12 week period. I lost 4 lbs the first week…

Yay! One by one we are coming around. I am almost 58 ( May) and I have lost 37 lbs from my high and I have about 60 more to go. I am hoping to get there by the end of this year. I have 3 grandchildren aged 3 months to 12 years. I am a high school geometry teacher and I spend 14 to 20 hours or more per week attending to my…

Well, so far you and I are the only ones who have checked in recently. I thought this was a great idea. We can check in periodically and maybe some more members will find us and we can resurrect this group's objective.Good luck to your endeavors in 2014

OK, I am wondering what happened to this group now that I found it. Can this group be reactivated for 2014? I am 57 1/2 with 3 grandchildren. I am a high school math teacher, not considering retiring for at least 2 1/2 more years...maybe longer, but I am hoping that this group will resurrect itself. I have lost 30 lbs…

You are as old as you feel...I am 57 1/2 and I don't feel old. I am overweight, but I have lost 30 lbs (although my MFP counter shows only the loss of 15 lbs since I joined this website). I look at my Christmas pics from a year ago and I can definitely see improvement plus I feel better. The best advice besides logging…

CW: 190.6 Waist: 43 in Arms: 11.5 in Hips: 47 in Upper Hip: 49 in Thigh: 24 in Bust: 45 in I guess my upper hip is way larger because of my gut. And I thought I was losing it...:-( I will try harder to lose it!

On Sunday, I weighed 191.8...a loss of 2 lbs from my weight gain of 8! :-( Anyway, I am back to getting on track. I do not have any excuse for not taking the time to take care of me....busy taking care of others. But, if I don't take care of me, then I won't be able to take care of others so I better take care of me...and…

I have just been off MFP and exercising...and it shows an awful gain of 8 lbs.! Yikes! I am back and I WILL take the time to do my workouts and eat and track my food as I used to.

I didn't weigh in last week HERE, but I had gained to 190, and this week, lost 1 to 189 lb. I was bad about logging in as I was super busy grading (end of quarter), plus last Sunday I was in such pain with a pinched nerve in my back that ran up through my neck and into my head. I had little mobility and it never really…

I was anxious to weigh in last week, then I forgot when I woke with a pinched nerve and limited mobility for almost the entire week. But I am back on the track and ready to lose for my health and to look better at my mom's surprise birthday celebration in December. SW: 190 GW: 175

I am glad for your work. I fell off with a help of a pinched nerve and limited mobility, I couldn't move less work out, but I am back. Looking forward to losing for my mom's surprise birthday celebration in December...not just Christmas.

09/01 189.6 GW: 175 by NOV. 30 09/08 188.6 09/15 186.2 Sorry so late...I was checking for 9/15 and didn't realize this was the place to post my weight for 9/15. Not bad for being sick and not being able to work out. I tracked my calories though.

09/01 189.6 GW: 175 by NOV. 30 09/08 188.6 Lost 1 pound. Immunity is low and caught a bug since Wednesday and haven't had the energy to work out. I have been tracking my food however. I need to work on getting my school work done (teacher) so I won't have this happen again...sleep deprivation for 5 days was definitely a…

CW: 189.6 GW: 175.0 by Nov.30 Although my progress has been less than what I hoped, I think I have the hang of it and should be able to lose 5 lbs per month if I keep to my allotted 1200 calories, exercise at least 30 minutes a day, each day, and try not to eat all my calories back. That seems to make the difference to…

CW: 190.6 GW: 175 Plan of attack: I aim to exercise every day for at least 30 minutes. Last month I tried the 30DS and although I leaned up a bit, I did not lose as much weight as I had hoped. This month I am exercising primarily with Hip Hop Abs (variety of workouts, with lean abs and cardio in mind. It is fun and there…

I am in, but I can't seem to find where we are to post pictures for the official "start"...August 18th? Today is the 21st. I would just as soon use the after photos from challenge 3....

I am 5'1/2" and my start weight (before I found MFP) was 227. My goal is to get to 125 lb. I am 57 years old, a grandmother of 2 (soon to be 3), and a HS math teacher in Southern California. I am currently at 193.6 so I have lost about 33 lbs (23 before MFP) so I still have about 69 lbs to lose. I hope that in the next…

My progress has been slow as well, but I think tracking your sodium, as was suggested, is good advice. I also noticed that your exercise is "walking the dog" at various rates of speed. Not knowing your physical condition, or if you have medical conditions (bad back, or knees, etc) I believe you need to vary your exercise,…

Eat the ice cream. I do eat it everyday. Depending on whether you want frozen confections like popsicles and fudgsicles, which are very low calorie by the way, or actual yummy creamy stuff. All the churned, light ice creams are good, lo cal and creamy. Just weigh it and log it. Fit it in, but do not deprive yourself or you…

Thank you very much. I did decide to go that route as well and just got back to your post. I at level 2 day 6 tomorrow. Those plank position exercises are killers.

I have similar questions: Do you do one level until it is "easy", then go to the next level, etc? Or do you mix up the routines so it doesn't become tedious? I just did day 1 today as well.

You might feel lonely because your ex did not support your desire to be healthy at this time, but it sounds like you have many people you love that will be happy and love you more for thinking enough to do for yourself so that you can be there for them. Your ex was selfish for wanting you to remain in an unhealthy state…

Awesome results! And an inspiration to us all. I am not a youngster like you, but I do have an 80 lb loss/goal as well. I feel that whatever I do, it will have to be an improvement in all areas to my health and well-being. Thank you for sharing!

Well, all those proteins sound expensive. I use EAS chocolate after I was unable to find Jillian Michael's protein powder at Walmart. I don't mix with water though, I mix with 8 oz of fat free milk and make a smoothie with frozen pineapple, strawberries, blue berries, 1/2 banana. I use frozen fruits (except for the banana)…

Lots of great advice. I searched the internet for weight loss inspirational messages and downloaded many onto my Ipad so I can look at them when I feel discouraged. I have a mini-support group of 1st cousins and we meet physically once a month. I haven't lost much on the scale, but I have numerous NSV: my muffin top is…

That is me! I am surprised by all the small women on this website who wear size 0-4...really! I am at 199 lbs and most of my 18W are falling off me except for Levi brand where I am still a 20W without a muffin top. I think I could be a 16W in most pants at this point. I am 5' 1/2".

It is hard to say because it sounds like you have been logging your food intake. I just know that juices have a lot of natural sugar and I have read it is better to eat the fruit whole for the fiber content, to help with digestion and elimination. Also, don't eat or drink your fruits with your meals. Eat/drink fruit 20-30…
