  • 3317 days and counting.. I missed a day about 10 years ago. Grrr...
  • You look amazing!
  • I thought you meant right now!!! I just got off the treadmill and drank a litre of water. Having a chardonnay right now...
  • Hi everyone! I'm Lisa, an ESL teacher living in Terrebonne, Quebec, Canada. Around three years ago, I discovered myfitnesspal and managed to lose over 50 pounds in about a year and a half. I've tried maintaining and all that, but I decided that at 5'2", plus or minus 140 seemed to be my limit. I exercise using my fitbit…
  • I'm 50 years old now and I lost 53 pounds almost a year ago. Took me a year and a half to lose the weight and I am having fun with the new me!! I exercise more and am trying to tone up as much as possible. At my age, I was afraid to lose quickly and get all slaggy, so I was real careful. I'm pretty pleased with my…
  • I went from 186 to 133 in about a year and a half. I've been maintaining for about a year now and feeling amazing. Take your time. It's worth it!
  • I lost my fitbit zip and I was totally upset and felt like I was missing a limb. I ordered a fitbitOne because I don't do bracelets very well and I need to see how I'm doing, so the flex and others are not for me. I can't wait to get my limb back!!! I love them!!
  • I get my sport bras from Moving Comfort and Titika. Expensive but so worth it.
  • I bought lots of sport tees at Walmart. I get my yoga pants and leggings from Victoria's Secret and Forever 21. I've been investing in running shoes and hoodies that I buy from two great online stores here in Canada: Running Free and MEC(mountain equipment company) I bought my favourite hoodie in four additional colours…
  • Jeez! I was hoping to lose 4 or 5 pounds by Christmas and thought that it was too much for so little time... Gotta stay healthy, you know...

  • If I put my exercise goals too high, I get discouraged and give up. I set my activity level at lightly active and try for three-40 minutes sessions a week. When I was losing, I did both "30-day shred" and "Ripped in 30", one right after the other. It took me a little over two months and I followed it faithfully 5x, but…
  • Always love Monty Python!!!
  • I rarely post anything myself, just what MFP does automatically when I log on and exercise and stuff. Once in a blue moon, I may like something or comment, but that is rare.
  • I only have a few friends on MFP, but aside from one person I don't actually know, I am the only one who is faithful and logs on regularly. I logged on for over 400 days in a row, then went to visit my family and couldn't for over two weeks. Having to start at zero again got on my nerves, but I love logging everything. I'm…
  • I lost 52 pounds. It wasn't difficult, really, just long. Now that I am maintaining, I worry less. If I go over and gain a little, I'll just cut back for a few days and add an extra exercise day and that's it! Not like when I started and had loads of weight to lose. I'm still eating the healthy foods that helped me lose,…
  • The first time I did this program, I did it religously 5-6 days a week but for 40 days or so. I stayed at a level either for 10 tries or until I felt I deserved to try the next one. This time I'm doing week one until I tire of it or am able to do the more difficult moves, then I'll move on. I also do the kickbox fastfix…
  • Hiya people!! I'm Lisa. I'm a 49-year-old teacher who lost 52 pounds in the last 15 months or so. I've been maintaining for a few weeks now and having fun. I'll be going home to Newfoundland on Saturday for two weeks to show the new me!! My family hasn't seen me in four years.. The last time I weighed 134 lbs, I was 23…
  • I have no intentions of following her meal plan. For me that is a diet and I won't be able to eat what someone else tells me to eat. I've already done this once and lost 10 pounds. I'm going to do it again but less religiously, this time. I do like it though...
  • My treadmill is programmable. I use the Hill climb setting and walk at 6.5 to 7 km/h. I usually listen to books on my kindle. I try to find really interesting ones and only listen while I'm on the treadmill..
  • When I started my weight loss journey, I had no idea if I would make it or not. At 186 last May, I felt uncomfortable in everything, couldn't do much more than walk , but I could walk for a long time. It wasn't enough. I faithfully tracked everything on MFP and my transformation began. I didn't have high hopes, because at…
  • When I realized I had to do this for me, I finally was able to do it. I am, for the first time in my life, NOT overweight. Took me almost 49 years to smarten up. I feel great and you will too!!!
  • HahHa!! Loved the Monty Python reference!!
  • I lost 48 pounds in 13 months. If you calculate, that comes to less than a pound a week. Some weeks I would lose nothing then I would lose two pounds. I've only lost 13 pounds since January. I am so happy with that. I think I'll be able to live like this. I love what I'm eating, I feel great and when I splurge once in a…
  • My trick is to keep it at a pound a week and fix my exercise goals to a strict minimum. I know I'll do more, but if I don't, it's ok. I'm almost at my goal, so I'm getting rid of flab by circuit training and jog/walking. I still lose a little over a pound every couple of weeks or so, so I'm happy with that. I rarely eat…
  • I'm 49, and I decided in May, 2014, that I wanted to be fit before turning 50.I gave myself lots of time. I thought 2 1/2 years would be ok.I made up all kinds of charts and lists and have several notebooks that I write in. I'm doing this by myself because no one I know has lasted as long as I have. I, unlike many others…
  • Jeez! I am a wimp compared to you guys and gals! I was hyped up because I plan on starting week 4 of Ripped in 30 and going for a 30 minute walk/run. Maybe one day, I'll be able to all the stuff you people can do... or not...
  • I just checked for my age and height and aimed to not be obese anymore. Then when I got there I decided I didn't want to be overweight anymore. I'm almost there. I don't think I'll ever be smack dab in the middle of my healthy weight range. I want to look and feel fit and healthy before I turn 50, in March 2015.
  • I think I'll try that today. I forgot to take it off one day when I was on the treadmill and you're right, if the times are accurate it does override the fitbit.
  • I have the regular fitbit that only track steps. I wear it all the time except when I jog, go on the treadmill or do another kind of workout. I also have a Polar FT4. I use it when I jog and when I do a workout for the first time to gauge calorie burn and monitor my heart rate during the effort. I'm satisfied and I…
