  • I eat them on occasion after weightlifting. I have had no issues with them, though I am not diabetic. All of those that are telling you to "eat real food" must not realize that almost all food is "processed" in some way. Do you not eat bacon, or beef, or cheese, or.....please, let's keep the shaming to a minimum.
  • You are awesome for having done so well despite all your medical mishaps! Amazing! Yes, though, building some muscle will definitely help with liking what you see in a bikini better. Not sure what, if anything you can do without injuring yourself, but if you are at all able to do squats that would work many muscle groups…
  • Thank you! It was amazingly fun! Even though my whole ribcage and back hurt the next day.
  • No, no one wants to be overweight. Not everyone ties their self worth to their weight either. I am fat. Like, really fat. I look at pictures of myself and go 'Uhh...eww." But I am also stronger than most people I know, I am kind, I am funny (matter of opinion, I know) I have great skin and pretty eyes and can sing you…
  • I will try some vitamin c....thanks! And you could always just say "Oh yeah? You should see the other guy!"
  • Everyone here has already said pretty much everything that needs saying. I second, third, fourth and fifth the counseling and journaling. I will say this, I have been at both ends of the spectrum, very fit at 5'10" and a size 8US, don't know how much I weighed as I didn't own a scale, and I have been obese at 240 and…
  • This I can definitely relate too! Seems like, as I lose weight, things get...well...squishier, before they get smaller. Some things even look bigger...which doesn't make sense, unless maybe you are right about it just being more "uniform". I feel all lumpy now LOL Thanks everyone for being able to relate in some way. I am…
  • I am glad you did! People can be awful. You are right, of course...I am just finding it hard to do today. Actually I find it hard to do a lot of the time.
  • @sljohnson1207 I am tryingbto do that. I have 5 pounds to go to hit their weight loss requirements. I like the idea of a photo shoot after I meet my goals, though that will happen more than likely before transplant than after. They are putting me through the ringer with this process and do not seem to be in a hurry to give…
  • Never said I was giving up. Sometimes I may want to, and those of you who gave never felt this way, congratulations and good for you. I do agree that I may need to disassociate the way I look from my actual feelings and motivation or no amount of weight loss may be enough. To say "just work harder" is not helpful as you…
  • Guess I thought I could probably arrange this as I don't often go anywhere. @1stplace4health You are very much correct, though there are other reasons besides vanity that I have to do this. That was just the reason that shocked me this morning. It is true though about being "in between" right now. Somehow it is harder than…
  • Not trying to imply that fat people are terrible....only that I thought I was making more progress than I was. So while it is not a competition with anyone else, it is with myself. There were people heavier than me in the photo, no it did not make me feel better.
  • I have three rescue Boston's (can you say "foster failure"?) two with no skin issues and the newest one with bad yeast issues. I would not have a problem with switching them from kibble to a homemade low carb diet but need some suggestions, as I am limited budget wise to even what my OWN food can be. What are some good…
  • Starvation mode is a myth in regards to physical weight loss, but it I believe it will slow your metabolism down as the body finds ways to compensate for the lack of calories. I ate very very little for way too long and lost very little after the initial low carb woosh of water weight. Granted I was also working out a lot.…
  • Thanks for posting this! You are so correct in the confidence building aspect of it. I used to just do my cardio and leave if there was more than one guy in the free weights area. It was hard enough feeling conspicuous for wheeling an o2 tank around the gym, let alone braving "the dudes" in the weights area. Now...idgaf, I…
  • Everything about this post, I love and can relate to! (Especially the nit returning things due to "shame") I recently went shopping in my own closet and came back with three pairs of jeans, two tops and a dress!
  • It's true, it works. I leave the pit in one half, wrap it in plastic wrap and it stays green for up to two days longer...
  • Thaaaat would be me.
  • I don't have any scientific data to back it up but I can tell you my experience. I started this woe trying to go as low carb as possible ALWAYS under 20g total...and I got a big fat nothing in the results department. I am on prednisone which messes up your whole adrenal system especially when you've been on it as long term…
  • I found three pairs of jeans, two shirts and a dress for free! Love shopping in my own closet :D
  • Awesome! Glad I am not alone in finding it hard to see a difference. I am 5'10" and going through the same thing, have another 50ish pounds to lose.
  • Safe: Eggs Meat Most veggies Not safe (mostly due to the fact that I have told myself they are "bad" and that I can't have any): French fries Cake batter (not the cake, just the batter) Popcorn Potato chips Soda Oreos Milk (I am/was a milk fiend, could drink a half gallon a day if I let myself, I have no idea why)
  • I just spit my coffee out with that last statement! ❤
  • I fit into a top I have had for two years and have never actually worn! This is awesome as I have a show coming up and had no idea what to wear
  • Yes, the beginning of the article is rather contradicted at the end. However, at least the thought is there that sugar is not good for you.
  • Not everyone who has a drink is an alcoholic, you have no right to say that her statement was a cop out. Anyway, if I drink, which is not often due to med interaction, I have vodka and club soda with a twist of lime. Few calories, and no carbs if using plain vodka.
  • I mixed some mayo, sriracha, and shredded cheddar together and slathered it on some chicken breasts last night. Threw them in the oven at 425° for 20 minutes, they turned out great.
  • I might kick someone in the shin for bacon, but not shoot them.
  • Haven't really found anything.....but I lost a chin..does that count?
