I think I could live happily on macadamia nuts and bacon.

@parkdad73 that is awesome! I can't wait to be able to do the same
-
I am definitely going to try this!

Hahahaha!!!!! That man is working my last nerve today too...

I can see results in the mirror when I am not being obtuse about it. Measurements are so strange as it seems to be coming off of weird places like my ribcage area and my mid and lower thighs and ankles and lower legs. Oh and squats are a good thing heehee. I just wanted to make sure that lifting was not going to hinder me,…

BACON (my answer to all things)

I don't have any :( but that may be all in my head according to my therapist (we are working on more body issues than a subscription to Cosmo)

You have excellent taste in books! Try some Spider Robbinson if you get a chance. Or Terry Pratchet. This is going to sound like such an idiot question...but....what is a podcast?

Let me clarify, I am not gaining weight. Even with my issues with water retention I am not gaining, which is amazing in and of itself. Lifting is new to me, I have only been able to do so for the last month and have been increasing both weight and cardio since finally getting medical clearance to do so. @AllanMisner That…

Thank you for the replies everyone! @_nice_ Thank you for understanding about the "pred"..I hate it, but it is unavoidable for me. I don't eat back any more than 100 calories worth of my exercise calories to account for any overestimate. I put a much larger deficit than needed to account for any caloric underestimate as…

Add me if you'd like, though I can't figure out why you would leave Florida for Ohio....I grew up there and now live in Florida LOL....though I guess I can say as I get older, I do miss parts of Ohio...so green and pretty.
-
I agree....I have made fat bombs, and they were good, but the potential to over eat them is great. I guess a lot of this for me is trial and error for awhile.
-
Yes, I was of the impression that staying under your carb goal, meeting your protein goal (based on activity, etc) were the essentials. The fats were more of an "as needed" sort of thing to round out the rest and meet calorie minimum if you've topped out the other two macros. Am I wrong in this?

Zucchini is what we call it. I love it.

ALL OF THIS!! I also find it easiest to tell them you just FEEL better eating your way. Doesn't make it a "right way or wrong way" just a way that makes you feel good.

While I understand the frustration of not being able to close out your diary, people like us who do LCHF are not the reason they do that and are in the minority. So many young women, and women my age even, struggle with disordered eating that that projected number, and the "reward" of being able to be so far under your…

Eating out can be alright....stick to meat and green veggies. Ask for extra butter. Not sure about sauces as you don't know how much sugar went into them. Eat all the rib eye!!!! Yummy! As far as drinking... That's up to you, but at least steer clear of the fruity beach type drinks. Have a wonderful and relaxing time!

I can very much relate to that and you are doing well by realizing it. There are many "safety" reasons we gain weight...it can be scary to let it go. I wish you (and myself) the best with our journey through this.

You lung function will improve, but it will get slightly worse for the first month as your body tries to rid itself of the nastiness that cigarettes leave. After that you will begin to see improvement. Imagine you certainly CAN be fit and be a smoker, as the your lung function increases from aerobic exercise (if I can…

Wow! I am all for body weight stuff, and I do squats, sumo squats and goblet squats. But I think you underestimate the weakling that is me. I can not even do a girl push up, though at least I have progressed from the wall to the counter. @minties82 I am going to try some variations on the deadlift to see if anything works…

It is....but after the reaction I had to the taste I took tonight, I have no desire for another one.

Well, I made a test batch. Out of pure habit I licked the spoon when done stirring the candy coating you dip them in. Totally did not expect the violent reaction that followed as I gagged and spit it all back out on the floor! So I finished the test batch, they are in the fridge and noooooo thanks. @FIT_Goat I am that…

Hmmm..I didn't think about that...you may be right. I have been LC for months now. I am making myself a nice juicy burger before I start, hoping that will help too LOL
-
Ah..ok. My gym doesn't have a proper squat rack. I am SO not ready for a single leg squat of any sort LOL. I am fat, out of shape and am waiting in line for a new set of lungs...but I will get there. Doing what I can and actually making some progress so far. Just need to find a good program and stick with it.
-
I am slowly getting back into the IF....not anything much but coffee until 11ish then usually done by 7ish. I do still get the "Give me food or I'll cut you!" feeling, but that is only after weight lifting days at the gym. It doesn't feel the same as the carb crashes from before.
-
I can find them really all year round but they are quite pricey. I made the mistake of making a fat bomb with them....vanilla macadamia nut fat bomb.....I say mistake because I think I ate 4 serving at once.
-
YES! Oh, one more question....what is a Smith Machine, and why does everyone hate it? I think it is what my gym has, as it does not look like a regular squat rack. I am still just doing goblet squats and sumo squats with dumbells because the machine looks weird to me and I am self conscious about trying new things in front…

I have tried the same deficit with both ways of eating, low carb works better for me. I have some medical issues that may play into that. I don't think carbs are the enemy for everyone, for me though, they don't work. It IS the deficit that creates the actual weight loss....but for some, how you create that deficit really…

At home I use my tablet to watch movies on the treadmill, makes a HUGE difference, and I have done more time to watch the end too LOL
