Holy hell. I've had several days in the 10K+ club, but 20K? Man, I don't know if I could even do that and I eat like a Snorlax.

You logged altoids. Now thats dedication. haha

I wasn't going to respond to this when I read the first paragraph, but since the second one was so ridiculous I'll go ahead and hit both. I understand there are lurkers, and I understand that the people who were trying to help maybe weren't talking to me but just everyone in general, and I respect that. I even appreciate…

So before I get into what I'm about to say, I'd like to thank everyone who was constructive towards me while I was having a low moment. A lot of you gave some great advice, even though I am pretty well versed in weight loss and knew a lot of it already. But here's the thing, I didn't ask for advice. There was no question…

That calculator is very similar to the one I used. I just put in all of my information and calculated it at my goal weight. Other calculators have said 1899, this one says 1967. that's virtually the same thing. 68 calories is not enough to change anything.
-
It's correct. I've tried it out on 3 separate calculators and they all say the same thing.
-
I have always counted calories daily, but I've read that some people say weekly is the way to go. Do any of you guys kinda not really worry about daily and concentrate on weekly? Eating heavy one day and light on another day to make up for it?

Man, that pizza analogy hits me hard though, talkin about eating two pieces and four being "overboard". I can eat an entire pizza myself, and I don't mean on a dare or because someone said I couldn't. I mean like, I ate the last piece and reached for another one and said "well hell, I guess I ate it all". I hope my…

Yes, I am very willing to walk/jog/run in the evenings when I get off work. I just know it will add about 300(give or take) calories to my budget. That would put me at 2200, which I still feel is low.
-
I'm not saying that I can't eat 1900 calories every day, I'm just saying that, and no offense and its nothing personal, nothing on that list looks very good to me at all. I mean I am willing to eat all of those things, I'm not a picky eater, but its not what I want. I find happiness in food that taste good, things that are…

I know 4500 is more than a lot, and I think I can reasonably get it down to 3000 and still be happy and not just always hating that I can't have this or that. but 1900ish is just super low.
-
I try not to stress myself out with scales to often. I started at 280ish and I estimate I am in the 265 range now.
-
I'm 27, 5'5'' and will (hopefully) weigh in the neighborhood of 150-155
-
I'm 5'5'', my goal weight is 150 (which BMI tells me is at the very peak of Normal, just 1 lb away from overweight) and I work a job were I can't get up and walk around often. Comes out to 1899. Even if I take a walk/jog/run in the morning or evenings I'd really only pick up 200-300 calories.
-
Yea but you'll stress your self to death if you worry about every single calorie that goes into your mouth. If you just get as close as you can, maintain your self control, and be patient, you will come out just fine in the end.
-
Well, stop doing that and eat at chain restaurants if you want to have an easier time logging.
-
If you need to eat 1500 calories per day (or whatever your number is) to lose 2 lbs per week, and you choose to eat 1500 calories worth of french fries or potato chips or candy bars per day then you will lose 2lbs per week. There is nothing further, any time you "if", "and", or "but" you are just further complicating a…

This is backwards as *kitten*. It's 1000 times easier to track when you go to a restaurant than when you cook at home. You just find the item and log it, you don't have to weigh anything or measure portions or any of that mess. If I could just eat out every single day that would make dieting so much easier.
-
I needed to lose 130 lbs, but I am only 5'5'' and started out at 280, trying to get to 150, so in a way, I am pretty much where you are. Exercising doesn't help you lose weight, it just allows you to eat more and maintain a deficit. I concentrate on weighing and logging every single thing that goes into my mouth and I only…
-
Buddy I'd give anything to look like I did the first time I thought I was fat and needed to lose weight.
-
Forget everything that happened before today. Change your weight to what is currently accurate, forget about yesterday, and concentrate on doing better tomorrow.

I'm not sure how tall he is or where he falls on the Anorexic to Morbidly Obese scale, but if you are morbidly obese the most important thing there is, is to not be obese anymore. There are many immediate health risks to morbid obesity that outweigh the potential pitfalls of a VLCD. I would HIGHLY recommend that anyone who…

If hearing your kid call you fat (kids always call it like they see it) isn't motivation enough to do what you need to do then I don't know what to tell you.
-
Cheese, Sour Cream, Ranch Dressing, pretty much anything dairy. I use Greek Yogurt in place of sour cream, but everything else I pretty much just have to live without it or use a small quantity. Everyone has a reason they got fat, mine is cheese/dairy.
-
You need more carbs.
-
You're picking apart what I'm saying rather than taking my point. You've been eating at a deficit, or atleast maintenance, for an extended period of time so your body is used to the caloric intake that allows you to maintain or lose weight. The problem with the original comment is that its always being given as advice to…
-
Of course they do, because they are already in shape and their body is used to the amount of calories they get each day. But the problem is, those people are always giving that advice to people who are used to eating way more. I am accustomed to 3500-4000 calories per day and now I've cut back to 2000. I'm not going to be…

Play a game, or start a TV series.

There is a 10lbs difference between when I wake up in the morning and when I go to bed at night.

You make this sound like its just some super simple thing. The problem is, with calorie dense food, by the time you fit it into your calorie intake, you havn't even very much of it and you are starving to death. You can't eat calorie dense food and feel satiated at the same time.
