  • Welcome!
  • Today I made it through my gym workout, although a bit low on energy. Could it have been too much sake last night? Oops. Probably.
  • Good job! I have a difficult time not being a member of the clean plate club. It is getting easier to resist.
  • Thanks for the tip about Lambrusco. I will give it a try sometime.
  • Today. Today I will take the day off. Which probably means I will end up doing yard work or something. lol Have a great Sunday.
  • Good Saturday morning to you all. I was thinking taking today off from exercising, but remembered we have a dance party to attend tonight. Ahhh, dancing! One of my favorite ways to burn calories. Have a great day everyone.
  • We had lunch at our favorite Mexican restaurant, and I did not eat the entire basket of chips! Yes! I kept it to 9, yes, 9 chips! And thoroughly chewed all my food. Who knew that taking more time to chew makes you eat slower, therefore becoming full faster? lol. Well I knew it, I just didn't do it. I also made a decision…
  • Looks as though all you ladies are doing fantastic! Thought I was going to take a day off, but ended up mowing the yard. Instant gratification, and a bonus for burning some calories. Have a wonderful Thursday!
  • I did not check in over the weekend, but it was good. Went to a party held out in the country Saturday night. Surprisingly did not eat or drink too much. Was planning on using Sunday as my off day, but we ended up cutting down two trees to use as firewood. That means a lot of dragging leaf laden limbs for a ways into our…
  • Walk to and from the gym 3x a week (45 min avg 3.5 mph). Gym workout about 30-35 min. which is primarily lifting free weights, weight machines. Then walk anywhere from 40-60 min. 3.0-3.5 mph on other days. Usually give myself one day off a week. East coast swing dance once a week and Cuban or casino style salsa once a…

  • So, do not want to answer this, but, need to stop fooling myself. Here goes. Height. 5' 5 1/2" 1. 20's - 125 lbs. 2. Pregnant: 165 lbs. Not pregnant 160 3. Weight now: 159 lbs (yikes!) 4. Goal: 140 lbs. What the hell happened these last 30 years. lol. A few years ago, maybe 5, I really was careful with my food…
  • Enjoyed a beautiful Saturday, and hope you all have done the same. No logging today. Spent the day with my four grandkids at a local State Park. Even though no "official" exercise, managed to put over 14,000 steps on the pedometer. I am a tired Mimi. :-)
  • That is fantastic! Yes, we can all do this!
  • Welcome
  • Checking in on this beautiful, but warm, day. Starting my weekend with a nice walk to and from the gym, with a 30 minute gym workout. I am very happy that I logged all of my food and drink yesterday. First time in months. Hoping to keep that going. Everyone have a wonderful Friday.
  • Got in a nice walk this morning. For the first time in months, I have logged my food/beverages. Well, at least breakfast. I have been eating Fate Greek yogurt lately. I can usually find it marked down a bit at our local Kroger. Also like Chobani. Have a wonderful Thursday! You ladies are awesome!
  • Today, walked to and from the gym. Had a great, focused workout at the gym. But, mainly, I am feeling an attitude change. I can make this happen!
  • Good afternoon from Georgia. After the rain on Thursday, today is cool and breezy. Made my walk to and from the gym really nice. My walk to the gym is usually 25 minutes, then work out for 30-40, then a 20 minute walk back (take a different route). Had my usual two cups of coffee, and ate about 1/4 cup of cashews…
  • Thanks for starting this group. My story: 56, divorced, and now living with SO, three grown daughters, four grandkids. Went thru menopause in late 40's. No major issues, but glad it is over. Have always exercised, watched my diet, drank plenty of water, etc. For some reason, I have not been as diligent as I used to be. We…

  • All of you ladies are singing my song! I will turn 57 this year and am post menopausal. I have always been active (gym/weights/walking/hiking, etc) and watched my diet. But now......dear lord. I still walk, hike, dance, and this year got back to the gym for weight lifting. But getting off these 15 pounds that crept up on…
  • I am 56 and would also like to add friends for support. It's that stubborn 15-20 pounds that I am working to lose. Feel free to add me.
  • Feel free to add me. I am 56 and trying to take off another 10-12 pounds, which is beginning to feel impossible. I realize that bit is not impossible, but just very, very slow.
  • Soon to be 56. Joined MFP early this year. Would love to have some friends for mutual encouragement.
  • Same here. If I eat any leftover meat, I eat it cold. With the exception of meatloaf.
  • Live in Athens, GA.

  • It will get better! Speaking as a woman of "mature" years (ha), I remember being so much harder on myself than I should have been. That being said, as difficult as it is, try to love and accept your body. Wear those shorts! You will look beautiful!
  • I am 55 and would like to lose 15-20 lbs. It is not easy, but I am determined.
